Seniors, I have enjoyed seeing you grow into wonderful young men and women over the last three years and seeing how hard you have worked to get to your nal year in high school. Mrs. I would be so proud of you! I know you have looked forward to all of the fun senior activities with your friends and fellow classmates and are now feeling down and disappointed that you will miss out on some tradition- al activities. However, as you will nd out, life does not always happen as planned and some things you just cannot control. All you can do is learn to make the best of things and as the saying goes, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Please know how much the faculty and sta care about you and are working hard to make that lemonade for you so that you will still have some great senior memories. Hang in there! Love, Ms. Debo Cari Bounds, Counselor Hi Guys! First, I would like for you to know that I miss you all very much. This is not the way that I saw the school year ending, but man, you guys are making history! (Start a journal of what is going on right now and share with your children when they are in high school!) Right now, we are all experiencing a gambit of emotions; some are scared, others worried, several are depressed and most are concerned. I want you to know that we are holding daily meetings about seniors! We've got your back!!! We will get through this together. Please know that I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you all go from silly, immature freshmen to the mature young men and women that will become our next leaders. When this is over and we are back in school, come by and catch me up on what you are doing with your life. Make us proud. YOU ARE...West- ern Hills!\" Mrs. Lott I know this has been a tough way to finish high school; please know that you have all been in my thoughts! You will always have a unique story to tell about your senior year, especially about how strong you were during an extremely difficult time in our history. You have made all of us at Western Hills so proud. All of my best wishes to you for your future endeavors! Mrs. VaNita Bell, College Career Readiness Coach Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you will go! Ms. Gonzalez, College Adviser Hello my beautiful, wonderful, goofy, wild and crazy seniors! I have missed you all so much since we parted for Spring Break and I am devastated that we missed out on making memories at the Talent Show, Decision Day, Prom, and all the final days the semester was supposed to bring to us. I hope you all know just how proud I am of you and how much I appreciate the time we got to spend together this year. No matter where you end up next year, be it college, military, or a career, I wish you all the best of luck. Don’t give up on your dreams and please know that I will always be here to help you if you decide you need me. Thank you for all of the laughs and tears and frustrations that you all brought me this year. I will never forget them. Take care seniors, and know that you have an incredibly bright future ahead of you. Sending you all my love. -Ms. Gonzalez

To the Cougar Choir Seniors, I am so proud of you all. I know the year didn't finish the way we thought it would, but I've never been prouder of any other group of seniors. You were my first freshmen at Western Hills High School. The last four years have been a journey for all of us. Each of you have grown and matured into wonderful young adults, both as musicians and as good people. Your futures are very bright and I cannot wait to hear about what you do as you move on to the next stages of your lives. I only ask that you take the music and the memories with you and keep on singing. -Mr. Chandler We are proud of you all and hope nothing but the best for your futures; continue to be positive, work hard, and strive for greatness! “May you see sunshine where others see shadows, and opportunities where others see obstacles.” – Unknown\" -Ms. Hinds Congratulations to all of you!!! I wish you the best in whatever goals, plans, and dreams you may have for the future! -Mr. Laurence Bell Dear Cougars, Class of 2020, you have my heart and my prayers, and as a lifetime member of the Cougar Family, I know there is nothing you can’t accomplish. I wish that I could jump through this screen and give all of you a great big hug right now, but since that presents some obvious challenges, I’ll just have to settle for reassurance that you will have each others’ backs as we fight to overcome this unprecedented challenge before us together—and long after it passes, as well. Keep fighting, stay hopeful and—most important- ly—wash your hands. Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know. You did it! Congrats! Love, Mr. Anchondo

Congratulations to the Class of 2020! Regardless of how the academic year ended, you still achieved so much through your school career that no one can take away from you. It has been such a pleasure to be a part of your high school journey. The best part is that the next step is only the beginning of all the opportu- nities that are ahead. Remember that YOU are in the driver seat of YOUR life. Go explore and learn from the mistakes you make along the way. Also, remember to make a difference and give back to your commu- nity. Say thank you to all of the one’s that have carried you this far. Keep the faith and best of luck! -Mr. Posey I LOVE YOU ALL! I will never forget all of you and you will always be a part of my heart. My sweet sweet Seniors, I want you all to know how proud I am of you! You are so strong and resilient and deserve the whole world! Stay strong and know how much support and encouragement you have behind you. You will go on to do great things! Keep pushing my sweet loves! -Ms. Copen (Brown) Take A Chance! The future is so full of riddles and mysteries to solve. The best thing you can do is to take risks! Please spread your wings and fly. It’s ok to try new things, explore your identity, and find your passion. In the end, find happiness. You are someone who can bring peace to this world. You can be the difference. You are missed. I will miss working with my senior artists. I am always sad to see you leave. Some of you have been in my art classroom several years and I have seen you grow and create some amazing work. I hope you will continue to make art even after you graduate. I wish you lots of luck in life. Ms. LaForge Wow, Seniors you have been thrusted into the history books...I am sure most of you wish that this was not the case and you could of ended your senior year the right way...for that I am sorry! I want you to remember two pieces of advice: 1. The two most important days in your life are the day your were born and the day you figure out why you were born! You have plenty of time to figure that out...take your time and decide what it is exactly that you were put on this earth to do! Don’t be in a rush to get there...you have a little time to figure that out. 2. If in doubt, remember these 5 words “Always do the Right Thing” - this will get you through most issues you will face in life! Good luck and don’t forget “once a Cougar always a Cougar!” Coach Moilan

Seniors! As y'all prepare to venture out into the world I just want to encourage y'all that you are so many good things, and although the world feels crazy and chaotic and out of control right now, you each have so much value that is individual to you alone. This world needs each of you and you each have your own seat at the table. It's okay to be scared and it's okay to have doubts; just never forget that you are not alone! Use your strengths to the best of your abilities but don't be afraid to ask for help. You are smart, strong, resilient, worthy, and capable of doing the hard things! YOU GOT THIS! I love y'all, I'm thankful for y'all, and I can't wait to see all the ways that y'all change the world. Doc B Hi Seniors! I didn't get a chance to meet all of you but I definitely have thought about you since Spring Break. I know you feel like you got short changed on your year...and you did. But everyone, world-wide, will always remember you! You are a special class of kids in more ways than one. I hope this break leaves you rested and ready to tackle wherever life may take you this summer, fall, and beyond! -Ms. Espree/Instructional Specialist You are such a great group! I have enjoyed so many of you all! I hope to see you all as you continue to do great things! I miss your smiling faces in the hall! -Coach Wendell Class of 2020, When I became the librarian at Western Hills you were all Sophomores. I have enjoyed getting to know many of you over the last 3 years. I have missed you all during this strange time in our world's history. I know you all were looking forward to these last couple of months of school and being able to enjoy your traditional Senior activities, but the Cornavirus had other plans. Let's be clear you were robbed and it's unfair. You have my heart and my prayers, and as long as we are Cougars I know there is nothing you can’t accomplish. Keep fighting, stay hopeful and—most importantly—wash your hands. Much Love, Mrs. Harkness Librarian Remember that great things rarely come from your comfort zone. Be brave. Be courageous. Take chances. Make mistakes. Ask for help. Apologize. and Forgive. Special shout out & virtual hugs to my Senior stars ~ Neeva Dixon, Tre'lyn Hawkins, Tyree Gardner, Erica Lozoya, William Vargas, Erik Munoz, Nea Brown, Jordan Williams, Gabriel Soto, Jacob Taylor, Timothy Soto, Zada Bradford, & Madeline Porth. -Ms. Alexander Stride Shoot for the moon and if you miss hang on to a star and hold on tight \"If your life's work can be accomplished in your lifetime, you're not thinking big enough.\" - Wes Jackson \"\"Its always impossible until it is done.\"\" - Nelson Mandela\" -Coach Clark

Class of 2020, Wow, you really took Senior skip day a little too far! Lol. But seriously, I hope that we get back to school before this year is supposed to be over! I miss you all! Your class is full of so much potential! Be great in all that you do! -Coach Maehs As bad as I feel for you not being able to create the final memories of your high school days, don't let it get you down, remember the great times and great friends you've made along the way.. Go out and pursue your dreams. Work hard, play hard. Finally a quote I try to live by from one of my favorite movies, Good Will Hunting: \"You'll have bad times, but it'll always wake you up to the good stuff you weren't paying attention to\". Remember, duct tape fixes everything. :-) Good Luck and Godspeed. -Coach Rieder This is such a historic, yet weird, time for all of us. We got the chance to reexamine our lives and really learn how to put a different perspective on them. I'm so sorry this took so many traditional things away from you. I hope you have created new memories of things you wouldn't have normally done, gotten a chance to connect deeper with family or friends, and learned new ways to conduct life. Never stop learning new things. Keep going and be posi- tive. I love you and have truly missed you in this time. I wish all of you the best for what lies ahead - whichever road you choose to follow. Make it your best! -Ms. Frost What a gift you have given me! You have not only accepted my quirkiness, you have embraced it. You have joined in on many of my zany antics; singing in the neighborhood (hallway) and allowing me to jump in on conversations that I know nothing about. There is so much grace and love with this class of Seniors. I will miss the comfort of them. I want to especially thank Brendan Pollard for being not only a vulnerable child, gentleman and protector around me, but for knowing when to fulfill each role. You have grown and changed so much and it's been a privilege having you accidentally stumble into my classroom. Jessie Villareal for seeing the real me; knowing that my bark is worse than my bite and that I do it all with love. You always make me feel very important and that is a wonderful thing to do for others. Christian Watson, how can you not just love this gentle soul? He is always ready with a hug and a laugh! No day is bad with him around. Lezly Gomez, not enough choir road trips with you running the music! Girl, you are such a huge part of my heart. It will be hard to find someone to fill your shoes. Keep walking with the Lord and share His grace with the world. You radiate with His love. Yes, I would proudly cry at this class's graduation! -D'Ann Edge History and Future; Upward and Onward! Often we think our future is determined by where we have been and what we have done and to some extent that is probably true. However, the direction we often take in the days ahead is the \"who\" we all are. Your character, your dreams and your efforts all combine based on life's experiences and here is where you now stand as you face forward to a new day and direction. You have what it takes to face this new world with all of its uncertainty as you make this world what it should be. Thank you for letting this teacher move into a new time with you; I believe I could not be facing tomorrow if it were not for the WHHS Class of 2020. For a change I may not be seeing each of you walk the stage but something far better- I see you as a new kind of day and each of you is who I will look forward to in keeping our country safe, strong and free. Congratulations and God bless the Cougars of 2020; Upward and Onward- to OUR Future!!!
