SENIOR SERVICES SENIOR SERVICES RESOURCE COORDINATION CREATES CLIENT SUCCESSES Mary, in need of hearing aids but unable to afford them, turned to the Lafayette Senior Service’s Resource Coordinator for assistance. Mary’s hearing loss was impairing her memory, negatively impacting her relationships, increasing her feelings of isolation, and impacting her quality of life. The Resource Coordinator set out to help Mary find funding for the $2,800 still needed after insurance. Following a lengthy process of researching potential funding sources, helping Mary apply for multiple grants, and coordinating everything on Mary’s behalf, the Resource Coordinator was able to help Mary achieve success! Although not every application was successful, three different foundations covered the entire remaining cost. Thrilled and relieved, Mary is looking forward to being able to fully hear once again. 42 Summer 2021 | SENIOR SERVICES | 303-665-9052
