REDUCED RATES GENERAL INFO The City of Lafayette provides a program for eligible participants, which will reduce fees for youth by 50% for activities sponsored by the Recreation Department*, as well as reduce the daily admission fee by 50%. The reduced rate program is available to all Lafayette Residents meeting one of the following guidelines: • TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) • SUPPLEMENTAL SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME (S.S. I. OR S.S.D.) • W.I.C. REGISTRATION INFORMATION 1) The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel or combine any class due to an insufficient number of participants. You will be notified prior to the first class if it has been cancelled and you will receive a full refund, credit or transfer to another class. 2) Late fees: Any youth sports registration not received by the registration deadline, will be assessed a $10 late fee. Payment will be taken (check or credit card) for youth league wait list registrations, but will not be processed until the child is placed on a team. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY We strive for positive experiences and excellence in everything we do. If you cancel from a class, you must request the cancellation seven days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a 75% refund. Day Camp deposits and Preschool/ B.A.S.E. registration fees are non-refundable. ► Class transfers are subject to a $5.00 transfer fee. ► All cancellations initiated by the participant must be approved by the program supervisor, and will be assessed a 25% cancellation fee. ► NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS will be given for cancellations, initiated by or for the participant, made less than seven days before the start of class. Refunds will be issued in the form of a check or credit card (depending on method of payment) or a household credit balance. AMENITIES ROSE LUERAS POOL: A Five-pool complex including a leisure/therapy pool with a variety of water features, a lazy river tube ride, a 25-yard, 6-lane pool and a 150 foot water slide. CARDIO EQUIPMENT STUDIO: Scenic outdoor views featuring 17 pieces of cardiovascular equipment with both personal and shared entertainment screens. CYCLING STUDIO: Dedicated, state-of-the-art studio for cycling classes. FAMILY LOCKER ROOMS: Two cabanas are available for use by adults with young children and patrons who require assistance in the locker room. FITNESS ATRIUM: Features an extensive free weight system, Cybex Eagle selectorized machines, Stairmasters, rowing machines, treadmills and Precor Ellipticals. FUNCTIONAL TRAINING AREA: Area for functional exercises using dumbbells and barbells. GROUP FITNESS STUDIO: Designed for group fitness with mirrors, no-shock hardwood floor, and a great sound system. SPECIAL EVENTS LEPRECHAUN GOLD HUNT MAR. 13 | 10am-noon | BBRC COMPLEX Help the Lafayette Leprechauns find and fill their pot of gold. We have hidden gold throughout the BBRC complex- city fields, inline skate rink, walking trails etc. Gather up to 20 pieces of gold and report to the leprechaun check in station and show the leprechaun that you have found some of his gold. You will receive a clue as to where the pot-o-gold is hidden. Once found, retrieve your bundle of gold coins for you to keep. Keep your eye out for the small leprechauns hidden- find one and receive a special prize. For more family fun, register for the St. Patrick's Day coloring contest. Winners will be selected by age group for additional prizes. Coloring sheets will be distributed at the leprechaun check in station and winners will be announced on St. Patrick's Day- March 17, 2021. SPECIAL EVENTS EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA MAR. 27 | WANEKA LAKE PARK | AGES 8 & UNDER Join us at Waneka Lake for some family eggstravaganza fun. Children (8 and under) can hunt for treat-filled eggs, smile their cheesiest or sweetest smiles for photos with the Easter Bunny, participate in a bunny hop relay race, and finish with a single lap family fun walk/hop around Waneka Lake family with the Easter Bunny. Registration is required. Children will be separated into groups following COVID safety guidelines. Eggs (limited to 10 per child) will be color coded for each age group and will be spread throughout Waneka Lake park. YOUTH SPORTS SPRING SOCCER Get your soccer shoes laced and ready to go! If you are in K-8th grade, join in the fun playing in a 6-week, 4 v 4 spring soccer season. For safety, this program will follow COVID guidelines. The 4 v 4 format will consist of a group 24 players with 6 players per team. Games will be played within the same group of 24 kids. More groups in each division may be added if needed. Due to program constraints, day of practice and carpool requests will not be considered. Please anticipate being flexible with either a M/W or T/Th practice schedule. Twice weekly practices begin the week of March 29th. Games start April 3. ▶ VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED. SPRING PEE WEE SOCCER SKILLS CLINIC Lace up those soccer cleats and come join us on the field! This instructional program will focus on teaching the skills of soccer and help your child advance into league play. Participants must be 4-5 years old to participate. These little kickers will have fun learning from our instructors. This will be a 3 week program with practices twice a week. ADULT SPORTS SPRING COED SOFTBALL Enjoy the outdoors, amazing weather, and friends. Play in the Spring/Summer Softball League with a 10 game format. Games will be played in the early afternoons/evenings on Sundays. League play begins April 18th. A maximum of 12 players will be allowed per team to follow current health guidelines. DROP-IN FITNESS Use your annual pass, punch card, or pay the daily visit fee. Pre-registration is required for in-person and virtual classes. Ages 12-14 may participate with the supervision of an adult/guardian, otherwise ages 15+. Check with your doctor prior to starting a fitness program. POLICIES AGE GUIDELINES ALL AREAS: For your child’s safety, all children under ten (10) years of age must be supervised by a guest 16 years or older. LOCKER ROOMS: In the best interest of all our patrons, children 6 years of age and older are required to use the gender-appropriate locker room. RUNNING TRACK: Available to anyone age 12 years and older. Infants are permitted in a personal baby carrier/harness only. Strollers are not permitted on the track. POOL AREAS: Children 5 years of age or younger, who will be swimming, must display the appropriate wristband and be accompanied by a paying guest 16 years or older who is in the water, within arms reach of the child(ren). Children 6 - 9 years of age must be supervised by a guest 16 years or older who is present and attentive in the pool area. FITNESS AREAS: Weight and fitness equipment is available to anyone age 15 years and older. Those between the ages of 15-17 must complete a weight room/fitness equipment orientation. PARTICIPANTS WITH DISABILITIES We welcome people with disabilities. People with disabilities are invited to contact the Recreation Department at 303-665-0469, to discuss the need for adaptations and assistance. Requests for scheduled activities should be made at least 2 weeks prior to the start date. Families with children with disabilities are encouraged to complete the Support Assistance Form, available at the BBRC Front Desk, when registering. After receiving the completed questionnaire, you will be contacted by the appropriate Recreation Department staff member.
