REDUCED RATES GENERAL INFO The City of Lafayette provides a program for eligible participants that reduces fees for youth by 50% for activities sponsored by the Recreation Department* and reduces the daily admission fee by 50%. The reduced rate program is available to all Lafayette Residents meeting one of the following guidelines: • TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) • SUPPLEMENTAL SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME (S.S. I. OR S.S.D.) • W.I.C. RECIPIENTS • SECTION 8 OR PUBLIC HOUSING • MEDICAID RECIPIENTS • CHILD HEALTH PLAN PLUS (CHP+) • FOOD ASSISTANCE • FREE LUNCH PROGRAM *Activities within the Guide that have a before the name of the activity DO NOT qualify for Reduced Rates. CLASS CONFIRMATION Please provide your email address on the registration form and review your receipt carefully. Contact the Recreation Center immediately if there is a problem. REGISTRATION INFORMATION ► The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel or combine any class due to insufficient participants. If a class is canceled, you will be notified before the first class and receive a full refund, credit, or class transfer. ► Late fees: Any late youth sports registration will be assessed a $10 late fee after the registration deadline. Payment will be taken (check or credit card) for youth league waitlist registrations but will not be processed until the child is placed on a team. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY We strive for positive experiences and excellence in everything we do. If you cancel from a class, you must request the cancellation seven days before the start of the class to receive a 75% refund. Day Camp deposits and Preschool/B.A.S.E. registration fees are nonrefundable. ► Class transfers are subject to a $5 transfer fee. ► All cancellations initiated by the participant must be approved by the program supervisor and will be assessed a 25% cancellation fee. ► NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS will be given for cancellations initiated by or for the participant made less than seven days before the start of class. Refunds will be issued in the form of a check or credit card (depending on the payment method ) or a household credit balance. A certain someone has hidden candy canes outside the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center in the City Park fields. Grab your flashlight and search for candy canes while looking for hidden elves. If you find an elf, bring it to the check-in table to receive a prize. Warm up inside the recreation center afterward with hot chocolate and cookies, where Santa will be available for pictures. Wrap up your evening by joining us poolside for an ornament race in the lazy river. Will your ornament win? Pre-registration is required for the ornament race. FEBRUARY COMMUNITY POLICE ACADEMY FEB. – MAY (DATES TBD) | WEDNESDAYS | 6:30-9:30PM The Community Police Academy provides the public with an inside look at law enforcement! The academy will explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions, and functions and provide an increased understanding of the tasks police officers face in their daily work. The academy meets once a week for 13 weeks. Each block provides participants with first-hand information from officers and includes hands-on and interactive opportunities. Applications and background checks are required. Seating is limited, so apply early! Gold is hidden throughout the BBRC complex, including the city fields, inline skate rink, walking trails, etc. Gather up to 20 pieces of gold, then report to the leprechaun check-in station. Show the leprechauns you have found some of their gold, and you will get a clue where the pot-o-gold is hidden. Once found, retrieve your bundle of gold coins to keep.
