El Tahrir News DG Visit to RC of El Tahrir a Resounding Success Sets the Bar for future DG Visits October 10 marked the first visit of District Governor Sherif Waly to a club. RC of ElTahiri’s DG visit was a resounding and impressive visit that practically set the bar fo all future DG visits to the other 108 clubs. The evening began with a presentation of the activities and plans of MES Interact of ElTahrir which included several parts with several impressive speakers. This act was followed by a bellowing presentation by Rotaract President Mohamed Abdel Aziz (Zizo) who explained his active efforts to consolidate the number of active Rotaract team members. He then explained Rotaract’s three basic strategic projects for the year 2019-2020 which include STEP GREEN, an ambitious environmental awareness and action initiative that includes cleaning beaches, selling cloth eco- friendly tote bags . The other major projects include branding Rotaract and X-Talks as well as organizing the first Environmental RYLA in Siwa this December. In addition there was a myriad of projects regarding eye glasses and help to an orphanage, breast cancer awareness, participation in a number of medical activities in addition to refurbishing a school in Arab Ghamaza District. RC of ElTahrir’s President Indjie Hafez explained at length the Club’s strategy for this year as well as current achievements. These include the pinning of 14 new members, participation in 3 clusters, membership in international groupings by Amal El-Sissi and Nevine AbdelKhalek as well as a sizable number of activities on the District level such as membership in 5 district committees. Projects at the club level include the Plant a Tree Initiative which started with Luxor Governorate. Also, the For Your Eyes Only Project that operated on cases from the Bar Medical Convoy, the Heart2Heart Project that recently obtained a global grant and ElTahrir’s continuing partnership in ECG’s University2Work Program.
