PUBLIC IMAGE INTRODUCTION 2019-2020 Egypt is a country with a population of 100 million and a birth rate of 2.9 million meaning that around 3 million children are born each year; and around 30 thousand children are born with congenital heart disease, 50% of those need intervention either surgically or non- surgically. This is a big economic burden on the economy of Egypt. A need for a Rotary project was eminent, as it is essential moving forward because the National Health Insurance in Egypt cannot cover all children with congenial heart disease, so they die on the waiting list unless they receive help from sources such as the proposed Rotary project. The national Health Insurance does not cover also the noninvasive catheter procedures. The project has a target of 17, 000 cases of which two thirds will need intervention whether catheter or open-heart surgeries. The target is the sick children who need catheter interventions for their heart defects. PROJECT VISION Save a Life Save a Family PROJECT MISSION Our mission is to provide services towards healthier children, in our endeavor to make the world a better place. We team with local partners and around the world to improve the health of children with heart conditions providing treatment with state-of-the-art cardiac noninvasive catheterization.

HEART2HEART TRF GLOBAL GRANT GG1986790 – PHASE I 2019-2020 The project started with a community assessment on pediatric cardiac cases in Egypt and the medical facilities catering to these cases; with an overflow of cases and limited treatment resources, other solutions became an essential requirement. For more details, the community assessment study can be reviewed at the following link: https://pubhtml5.com/wgjy/shko The Rotary Foundation application was started in April 2019 which was approved in May 2019. This process was followed by a collection process for the contributions which lasted until the end of June 2019. All contributions were then matched by TRF and paid in September 2019 directly to suppliers. Groundwork began immediately in Cairo followed by Sohag with two Hospitals Wadi El Neel in Cairo and Al Nour in Sohag as our technical partners. In Sohag, we established an RCC with Al Noor Cardiac Catheterization Center through which we are addressing the following:- • Vocational training • Maternity awareness • Poverty alleviation in the area through humanitarian projects For the Global Grant Record please visit the following link: http://online.pubhtml5.com/wgjy/bxhc/#p=1 For photo-story please visit https://myalbum.com/album/PdiTcpjxpCDA and our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Help.Heart2Heart Heart2Heart GG1986790 treated 25 patients as detailed in the following patient reports on our Digital Library: • CAIRO: Wadi El Nile Hospital (10 Cases): http://online.pubhtml5.com/wgjy/sjrx/ • SOHAG: Noor Cardiac Catheterization Center (15 Cases): http://online.pubhtml5.com/wgjy/gipe/ Heart2Heart GG1986790 was completed in December 2019 and the final report was submitted to TRF.
