District Governor’s Message Dear fellow Rotarians, It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the annual Rotary District 2451 Conference, taking place in El Gouna from May 4th to May 7th. As your District Governor, I am thrilled to be part of this exciting event and look forward to connecting with each and every one of you over the next few days. This year's conference promises to be a fantastic opportunity to come together as Rotarians, learn from one another, and explore the many ways we can continue to make a positive impact in our communities. We are proud to announce that this will be a green conference with a focus on environmental sustainability. As such, we have eliminated all paper waste and have implemented other measures to reduce our carbon footprint. Additionally, our speakers will discuss various ways that we can each make a difference in protecting our planet and preserving our environment. I want to emphasize the importance of quality over quantity when it comes to our membership growth. It is not enough to simply increase our numbers; we must ensure that every member is dedicated to our mission and shares our values. This conference provides us with a valuable opportunity to connect with one another, share our experiences, and learn from each other so that we can continue to work together effectively and efficiently.

District Governor’s Message With multiple speakers covering a range of topics, we have a lot to look forward to, and I am confident that we will come away from this event inspired, informed, and energized. As with every Rotary event, fellowship will be a key component of this conference. It is through our connections with one another that we are able to make the biggest impact in our communities. Whether you are a long-time Rotarian or new to the organization, I encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities for networking and fellowship over the next few days. Finally, I want to express my gratitude for your commitment to Rotary and your dedication to making the world a better place. Your hard work and generosity of spirit are what make this organization truly great, and I am honored to serve as your District Governor. Thank you for your attendance and participation in this conference. I look forward to seeing you all in El Gouna. Yours in Rotary, Dr. Emad Abdel Wahab District Governor 2023-2024 RI District 2451

Conference OC Chair’s Message Dear Rotarians, It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you all to the Annual Rotary District 2451 Conference, taking place in El-Gouna from May 4th to May 7th, 2023. My name is Maher Kassem, and I am honored to be the Chair of the Organizing Committee for this year's conference. As many of you know, I have had the privilege of holding numerous positions in our district, including serving as past president of RC Alexandria El-Nozha. Through my experience, I have come to appreciate the power of fellowship and the impact that Rotary can have on our communities. This year's conference promises to be an exciting and engaging event, with multiple speakers sharing their insights and experiences with us. I am particularly proud to announce that we have made a concerted effort to go green, with a paperless conference and a focus on environmental talks. It is our responsibility to preserve the environment for future generations, and I am proud that our Rotary District is leading the way in this effort. I am also thrilled to report that our district has almost 3,000 Rotary members in addition to our partners of Service the Rotaractors which add up to another 1,000 members, with various international guests coming from several Rotary Districts among them of course are our long-live friends and fellow Rotarians of RI District 2452.

Conference OC Chair’s Message This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our members, and I am confident that this conference will provide us with the tools and inspiration we need to continue making a difference in our communities. Above all, this conference is a celebration of fellowship. It provides us with an opportunity to connect with one another, share our stories, and build relationships that will last a lifetime. I encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity to engage with your fellow Rotarians and learn from one another. Thank you for your attendance and participation in this conference. I look forward to seeing you all over the next few days and to celebrating the impact of Rotary on our communities. Yours in Rotary, PP Maher Kassem District Conference Organizing Committee Chair 2023-2024 RI District 2451

‘A town like no other’ THE PARADISE OUT OF DESERT El Gouna had started as one man’s search to find the most beautiful spot on the seaside to build a house and small boat jetty. Thirty years ago Samih Sawiris, Chairman of Orascom Development Holding, El Gouna’s parent company, found that beautiful spot, conveniently located just north of Hurghada on the west coast of the Red Sea. It wasn’t long before Sawiris’ friends, struck by the splendor of the azure waters and dramatic backdrop of mountains, asked to join him, and the town slowly blossomed into the vibrant community that it is today.

Conveniently located 25 kilometers north of Hurghada, El Gouna is only a four hour flight from Europe’s major capitals. The town is easily accessed from Europe via the nearby Hurghada International Airport and boasts a superb infrastructure and excellent services as well as natural beaches and year-round sunshine. The town’s location offers good access to many of Egypt’s natural wonders, historical sites, and archaeological treasures. The ancient temples of Luxor and Aswan are only a ride away. Day and overnight trips to Luxor, Aswan, Cairo, and Sinai are also easily arranged from El Gouna.
