Portrait PhotographyPortrait photography the subject is posed and engaging the camera. Subject should appear relaxed andwelcoming. Use two-strobe technique, using one main strobe and one fill-light.Documentary/Event PhotographyDocumentary/event photography requires use of available lighting. Subject matter can range fromcapturing presentations, posed award recipients, and event coverage, and can change upon clientrequest.

Video StandardsVideographic DirectionVideos must not conflict with the College’s Core Values. Such videos are unacceptable. Examples ofinappropriate videos include photos with alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, rude or suggestivegestures.Videos intended for marketing/promotional materials require the subject’s written consent. If thesubject is a minor, the parent/guardian must give written consent.Marketing content should express the level of human interaction and personal success found at RichlandCommunity College. It is preferred that videos feature actual Richland students, alumni, faculty andstaff.

Specialty ItemsThe Marketing Department keeps in stock a number of specialty items (official Richland folders, pens, t-shirts, ornaments, cookbooks, etc.) to be used when exhibiting, to give to special guests, for meetings,and so on.
