BOARDS VVVOOOIIICCCEEE OOOFFF TTTHHHEEE BBBOOOAAARRRDDDSSS Greetings Rotaractors! A lot can be understood and learned from the wise words of Helen Keller, 'Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.' All of us are a part of this Rotaract journey as ONE. Let us strive to make each day meaningful and enjoyable for ourselves and the community we've pledged to serve. We're in it for the long haul. The fire to do better, and be better must never die out in our hearts. Let hard work and zeal be the synonyms that Rotaract is known by. 'Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known.' -Carl Sagan I wish that all of us develop the courage and persistence to ultimately reach that level of incredible; on our own or with the help of our Rotaract family. Best wishes to all. Regards, Rtr. Ananya Sergeant at Arms 2022-2023 04 | THE PRIDORA | September 2022

ARTICLE WORLD TOURISM DAY Every year world tourism day is celebrated on the 27th of September to mark the importance of tourism and travel in our lives. Not just a luxury, the tourism & travel industry contributes to many essential economic aspects of the country as well. The 2-year long restriction on traveling due to the deadly pandemic- covid 19, made us realize the importance of tourism in our lives. Now that it has abated, the world has resumed visiting their favorite places to freshen up their minds and to escape the challenges of professional and personal lives temporarily. For some, an escape to a historic place rejuvenates them, for some- the mountains, and for some a plethora of greenery and waterfalls. One such gem that houses the perfect combination between scenic greenery and magnificent waterfalls is Jharkhand. Jharkhand (which literally translates to 'the land of forests' ) is gifted with an abundance of scenic spots and incredible landscapes coupled with a pleasant temperate climate and Rich cultural heritage making it potent for emerging as one of the leading tourist locations in India. Apart from being carpeted with lush green forests, Jharkhand represents a cornucopia of heavenly waterfalls, waterbodies, dams, and hills. The rich ethnic and cultural aspects along with intricate handicrafts and beautiful folk dances contribute to the cultural vibrance and uniqueness of the state. The winsome and mouth-watering cuisine of Jharkhand consists of Dhuska, Pittha, etc which are cherry on top. Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, the erstwhile summer capital of undivided Bihar, connects the state to the megacities of India. Developing rapidly, the city manages to emit urban as well as countryside vibes simultaneously. The city has picturesque spots in its outskirts such as twisted routes of Patratu valley, Hundru falls which ranks 34th among the highest waterfalls in the country and the verdant paths leading to enthralling Getalsud dam. The scenic grandeur of Jharkhand is one of its kind. Jharkhand has significant potential to expand its cultural tourism, eco-tourism and mineral tourism. Development of tourism sector in this state shall be prioritized and advertised at a large scale as it can create employment opportunities and serve in increasing economic growth.
