BOARDS VVVOOOIIICCCEEE OOOFFF TTTHHHEEE BBBOOOAAARRRDDDSSS Greetings Rotaractors! If you weren't ready you wouldn't have the opportunity and if you weren't capable, you wouldn't have the desire. We are afraid to take steps that will lead us to excellence and we are stupid to not realize it. Avoiding our own inner strengths weakens us in a way nothing else does, and avoiding our desires makes us gloomy as nothing else does. We grow because we decide to grow, and we fail because we turn a blind eye towards our dreams. Let us start step by step, let us take our first step at least by working and improving ourselves. Magic only happens when the magician learns and fails, learns and fails, and finally makes the stage blow. And here you are the magician and this world is waiting for your magic. Rotaract has taught me that you don't have to be a master of everything, just have to try and learn new things and everything will definitely unfold in your favor. This is our opportunity to excel together, this is your opportunity to climb new heights, and together we will definitely make a change. Keep learning, Keep Rotaracting! The sky is the limit. Regards, Rtr. Jai Gaba Vice President 2022-2023 04 | THE PRIDORA | October 2022

ARTICLE LOVE FOR CHICKEN George Benard Shaw once said \" there is no sincere love than the love of food\" So, My dear chicken... Nothing spells 'love' more than a platter of delicious flair. Hence, I am writing this after realizing my one true love \"Chicken\". My dear Chicken, I'm writing this to you, as I realized that my love for you is true. I would always remember our first meeting - the day I met you dipped in gravy. I still remember picking you up to my Plate like a true fan. I still think of the days when we used to watch movies in theatres, with you in my hand my chicken burger , wearing nice red ketchup. Now, I've realized that life without you is incomplete like a Chicken-less chicken burger, chicken-less chicken paratha. With you, Salad used to be cuter. Since you left, Rayata has been feeling Adhoora and life feels so feeka! I miss my Masaledaar time with you Chicken, and why not? Chicken, you give a sense of enjoyment, a sense of happiness, and of course fullness as well. If anyone asks me the last thing I could eat will be you my okiee dokiee... I love to eat all the dishes where you are involved my love, like chicken biriyani, chicken curry, chicken French fries, chicken lollipop, chicken crunchy burger, chicken peri-peri pizza, chicken tikka, chicken momos, chili chicken, chicken green curry but my favorite will always be a chicken leg piece. To be continued because love has no end!!! Rtr. Tanu Singh @__tanus___ 09| THE PRIDORA | October 2022
ARTICLE My Food Theory In general, food provides nutrition to the body and is an energy source. But for me, food is more than that. Food is a whole language. Through food, we can express our thoughts, and make someone happy. For every mood and situation, we can have different food. The way food makes us feel is a very essential part of the food experience. Food can make us upset, angry, or even sick. What we eat, it affects our mood and our emotions. Some foods are known to lift up our moods and make us feel happy, while others may make us feel sad or anxious. Food just feels good after a long day even though I'm not a foodie. On days that are not so, great thinking about what to eat can ease your mood. Food is a language that unites people without words. I love trying new things and I am always up for a culinary adventure. As a child, I was a picky eater. I would only eat certain foods and was very particular about my meals. My parents would try to convince me to try new things, but it wasn't until I went to college that I really started to branch out. Since then, I have developed a much more adventurous palate. I love trying new cuisines and dishes from all over the world. This means that I tend to my cravings and make sure that I'm eating healthy foods. I am also interested in the history and culture behind the food. It is a way to connect with other people and experience new things. It is one of the great joys in life and I wouldn't trade it now. Reminiscing moments During the course of a day, millions of memories are created. Let us take a step back and remember the special times when we made friends with our forever ones, when we experienced the joy of providing food for others, or when we taught those children with glowing eyes, who had the same spark as ours, or when we collected medicines for those in need, or when we donated blood only to find ourselves and our loved ones being taken care of, or when we visited those famous institutions only to return home a bit more knowledgeable, or when we overcame our stage-fright, or when we experienced those pains endured by our mothers and sisters, every month, just to feel closer to them, or when we played with our friends with zero worries, or when we as humans took care of our Vayumandal. This new page in this prestigious magazine revolves around these memories. Hence, it's time to give others a tour of our nostalgic memory lane...
Reminiscing Moments Greetings everyone, I am Rtr . Jyotishree Sahi writing this piece in order to share my journey so far as a Rotaractor. So, it all started when I was admitted to St Xavier’s College in the year 2021, as the year was in the pandemic phase our classes were being conducted online as per guidelines. I had barely met my new classmates, friends, and seniors. It was really confusing and kind of frustrating, and amidst such confusion, I got to know about the Rotaract Club of St Xavier’s College through my class group. I checked about the club, its projects, events, aims, and objectives which were amazing, and I decided to fill out the recruitment form later I got a call for an interview. The interview was one of a kind. I was very nervous that day. My interviewers -Utkarsh bhaiya , Snigdha di , and Satyam bhaiya asked me a lot of questions . I answered most of them and at the end of it, I thought I am not going to make it, better luck next time. I had already made up my mind to try again because in the interview I got to know so many things about myself – my strengths, my weaknesses, and my areas of self-development. But surprisingly and fortunately I got selected. I remember our orientation in the club where I had just one friend with me - Rtr. Noor and it was Mehal di who during her speech asked us to be active in the group, and participate in events and told us that this is how we are going to make friends in the club and enjoy it to the fullest. Thanks to her advice, since the first event of Ace till date I have made so many friends in the club. The club has helped me to grow as a person and much more. I remember the time when Ananya Di called me to lead team Blaze in the Grand event of Ace. She boosted me so much with confidence for the event, guided me, and even called me after the event, it was really heart-touching. Recently I have grown an interest in writing and this is because of my friends, Rtr. Shahnaz and Rtr Apoorva, whenever I write and show them they encourage me and this really boosts me to write more. Apart from these, all the events that I have participated in for the Rotaract club have brought me happiness, contentment, and knowledge. At last, I would like to thank all the members for making the club so approachable and enthusiastic. I am grateful to all of you. Thank you! Rtr. Jyotishree Sahi 13 | THE PRIDORA |October 2022
