WORDS OF ROTARACTOR In the time when whole era bow down to one who deserves, we Indians still Honouring the reserved. We have a quantity but what we need Quality. we need to give chance to the deserved rather than the Reserved. Help should be provided on economic considerations and not on Caste. It is true that we are tied up with certain rules and conventions about helping Scheduled castes and Tribes. They deserve help, but even Though, I Disfavour any kind of Reservation, particularly in Service. I react strongly against anything, which leads to inefficiency and retarded Standards. I wish my country to dominate globally in Everything. The moment we encourage the second rate, we are Lost. For most politicians, it’s about securing a vote bank no matter what. For some in General Category, it is one of the excuses for not having succeeded in life or for not working hard in government jobs. For some in SC/ST/OBC category, it’s just a question of opportunity and the reason to get into the habit of not to labour. There are some positives too but overall, the great Indian reservation system looks like it’s all messed up and disabled. -Rtr. Pratik Praveen 10|THE PRIDORA |January2020

Letter -Rtr. Pratik Praveen You are unbelievably powerful, if you could catch a glimpse of your own power you would never settle for anything less than you are worth. We often think of advice as passing on wisdom from elder to youth, teacher to student, parent to child. The veteran guides the novice, the process didactic in nature. But what if the coin flips, and we, as our present-day selves, offer advice to an older, more worn version of ourselves? Think of it as an exercise in self-love, a means of preserving and protecting what’s important today well into the future. Right now your life is one giant crossroads. It’s exciting. It’s frustrating. It’s temporary. I hope you have a few more things figured out by now. But I also hope you still have some questions. Keep asking them. Despite all the constant frustration, you’ve managed to wear glitter every damn day, and hey, that’s kind a victory, right? Your clothes are on point—a ton of of shiny stuff, colors in your closet. You will have enough time to do everything that you love, so stop stressing so much. You miss the beauty when you are stressed. Be here now. Hug those around you. Ask them how they are doing, and truly listen (without plotting your response at the same time). The inexplicable sensation of true connection and understanding is the best feeling in the entire world. Money is just a number. It comes and it goes. Love is the true currency. No one lives forever so be sure to cherish every moment, and when they pass and when you pass, find comfort in knowing that we are simply souls within these bodies, and we will all be connected at some point again. Life is a gift, not something that is a given, so enjoy every second while you’re here and wipe off all tinge of regrets. 11 |THEPRIDORA|January2020

Editorial Gender Is Not Binary \"I think being gay is a blessing, and it's something I am thankful for every single day.\" We must define the difference between biological sex and gender. Sex is what biology one has in their body. Gender is what one assigns to oneself, it is independent of sex. Even today when cis- gendered people have decided to end the brutalities against genderqueers. Non binary gender is what we need to teach and educate our younger generations in order to end this ages long gender dysphoria. There are minority communities Lesibians , Gays, Bisexuals, Transgenedes , nevertheless Queers. They all have different identities and just like Cis-gendered people they have rights to choose whatever they want. The recent judgement Supreme court of India sets a benchmark in South Asia ending century long Draconian inhumane laws of Britishers. On one hand the court says we have been at fault to serve justice to them, and the other is the legislature of India decides to take away fundamental rights to decide one's own identity by passing an amendment which not only takes away rights to decide gender but also puts one under the burden of changing sex by possibly going through a surgery. That's where the problem is, the citizens of India aren't ready to welcome such change easily. This fight to let non binary gender share Equal status amongst all is backed by its history. AIDS Bedhbav aandolan being one such pillar of resistance in the beginning to Naz foundation's considerate efforts. The gender binary humans must put considerate effort to improve equality among all human beings. It will be the first step to promote peace among all. The daily discriminating culture where we make them feel uncomfortable has to stop. They have been deprived of their identities in jobs, banks, public sectors, private sectors. Thus they choose to live amongst those of their own kind. They give up families, relations and walk away. All we have to become is decent human beings. Remember We don't have to understand it, we just have to respect it. -Rtr. Amaan Aabid 12 |THEPRIDORA|January2020
