Federico Faggin is an Italian-American Physicist, engineer, inventor and entrepreneur. He is best known for designing the first commercial microprocessor, the Intel 4004. The 4004 had 2,300 transistors, performed 60,000 OPS (operations per second), addressed 640 bytes of memory.

#Arithmetic Logic Unit • Arithmetic logic unit (ALU) is a combinational Digital circuit that performs arithmetic and bitwise operations on integer binary numbers. • the result are stored in memory. • it also includes comparisons.

#Registers A register is a small amount of high speed memory. It is connected to microprocessor. All temporary data is stored in registers. It offers fast memory but very limited in size. • Input registers- store input data in CPU. • Output registers- store output data in CPU.

#Control Unit The control unit operations within a computers processor. It is the most complex part of computer, and allows the computers logic unit, Memory and both input and output devices know how to respond to instructions received from a program.
