“What the world needs today is neither a new order, a new education, a new system, a new society nor a new religion. The remedy lies in a mind and a heart filled with holiness. The ideal of service and the urge to practice it form the very heart of education. Pure love is the chief manifestation of education.” ~ Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Randburg Sai

Randburg Sai \"Education should build character. The end of knowledge is Love. The end of education is character.\" My humble pranams at the lotus feet of our beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Aum Sai Ram dear elders, brothers and sisters and Sai blossoms. How the time has flown ...10 years of being in SSEHV has really impacted my holistic, spiritual and emotional growth. Aside from being taught all the mantras, prayers and chants, Bal- Vikas has taught me to live more righteously through learning the 5 human values and applying them daily especially during my time away from classes. I have learnt to shower everyone with unconditional love and kindness, to practice forgiveness , to appreciate and be grateful for all that I have and to have been chosen by Swami to learn His teachings. The practice of the 5 human values has enhanced my relationship with Swami and has helped me develop a deeper understanding of what spirituality truly means. EHV has taught me much more, attending EHV has shown me what it means to be a part of something bigger than myself. Being a part of Randburg Sai for so many years I have seen first hand what it is like to live in the image of Swami and felt how good it feels to do something kind for another or to put a smile on someone else's face. EHV has given me an extended family and Randburg Sai has given me a second home within the centre. Thank you to all the gurus who have taught me over the years, your unconditional love and kindness will always be remembered. To Aunty Mandy, thank you for guiding me through my first years of EHV and for always being so loving and encouraging. To teachers Preshantha and teacher Tresh, thank you for making my time in Group 2 so fun and interesting and for always being so caring. To Uncle Preyen thank you for taking me through the last stretch of this exciting journey. To my fellow graduates Cameron, Shriyan and Yashmika , it has been a privilege to share this journey with you. To my parents, mommy and daddy, I can't thank you enough for all your support and love, not just during my time at EHV but always...Dad thank you for making time each week in your busy schedule to bring to me to classes and to Grampsy for the times that dad couldn't. Mom and dad you are my biggest mentors. Thank you for guiding me through my EHV career and preparing me for Life. .... Lastly to my granny. Gran, words can't describe what you mean to me. Throughout my life I have seen how you have constantly and consistently devoted your life to helping others in praise of Swami. From the moment I uttered my first words you have taught me about Swami, how to say the prayers and mantras, sing bhajans and always remind me to Love all and Serve all and see God in everyone. You have taken the greatest interest in my spiritual development and always built on what I've learnt from EHV, I am truly blessed to have you in my life and you continue to be my greatest inspiration and role model. To have been given the opportunity to attend EHV is a great privilege and to be a part of Randbug Sai has been a great blessing that I will forever cherish, thank you for all that I have learnt , the memories I've made and the amazing people that I have had the honour of meeting along this journey. As Swami says... Life is a challenge, meet it! Life is a dream, realize it! Life is a game , play it! Life is Love, enjoy it!.... May Swami always keep you in his tender, loving care. Jai Sai Ram -  Mahika Padayache

Randburg Sai

Randburg Sai MY SAI AND I   Through this story I express my love and respect for our beloved Bhagwan, my caring parents and my loving Guru’s. My parents tried looking for a Sai Centre that was close but at the time they could not find one. Then I cam along on the 11th of January 2008 but the doctors said I could not breathe properly due to many illnesses so I would have to stay in hospital till I recovered. They said it would be approximately three months till I recovered but, Swami had his own plans. I recovered in nine days, all the nurses and doctors were shocked.   Then after a few years, my parents found us a Sai Centre, The Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Linden, at that time, I knew absolutely nothing about bhajans, then after a few moths, I started singing, eventually, it became one of my hobbies. It took me quite a long time to learn how to sing as well as I sing now. Through time, I became better and better at it. Swami taught me practice makes perfect, so that’s what I did. I…. practiced!   Since Linden Sai did not have an EHV, I went to Randburg Sai’s EHV. I started EHV at the age of eight that was the time when I became a true Sai devotee because then I knew all of his messages, all of his teachings and most of all, how much love he has for us. Swami is not just an ordinary man, he is the Lord of Lord! He controls all the beings on all the planets in all the universes in all of the galaxies.   How lucky I am to know his loving messages, to hear his inspiring words, to see his beautiful form and to have walked in the same place where he had walked. I am very grateful for everything I know about him because that is one thing nobody can take away from me, and I am thankful to all my Guru’s who were kind enough to take the time and effort to share their love and knowledge about our dearest Bhagwan. During the years so far I have learnt quite a lot about Swami. I was taught the five human values, all the meanings of all the festivals in all of the religions, how to sing bhajans, how to say different mantras, how to make use our spare time with is silent sitting. I cant forget to tell you about Bhagwan. He know what you are going to think before you even think it, he know what you are going to say before you even say it, and he knows what you are going to hear before you hear it. Swami is my everything and will always be. He is OUR precious, Loving, Wise Sai@   This is my beautiful story through EHV. -  KALYANI PATHER

Randburg Sai SAI LOVE (POEM)   Our Sai is always there, To show his love that is rare.   He’ll guide through the way, Even on the darkest day.   He’ll be there in times of sorrow and despair, You call his name and his always there.   From the tallest of the tall, To the smallest of the small   ONE THING YOU SHOULD KNOW IS THAT… HE IS PRESENT IN ALL! - KALYANI PATHER

Randburg Sai Group 3 SSEHV I joined the Sathya Sai centre and started the EHV program about 5 years ago. EHV has taught me a lot and helped me grow as a person. Each lessons by the teachers is very interacJve and educaJonal. It educated us as the learners in Sai Baba’s teachings and how to beMer ourselves by the values learnt. At the end of every lesson I always take out a key aspect of the lesson and try to pracJce that for the week. I have enjoyed aMending EHV and the cultural balance it has provided in my life. -Sahyen Moodley

Midrand Sai

Midrand Sai Blurb:  “We begin to heal Mother Earth once we resonate Unity, Purity & Divinity by transforming of our seemingly insignificant daily habits into Divine Habits. It is by conducting ourselves perfectly, we, in turn, become an extension of the Divine’s perfection.” Midrand Sai SSE Group 2 Year 1 (Age Group: 9-10 years)  - Canvas size: 40x50cm  Unity, Purity & Divinity: All the inherent values are practiced when we take time to care for our Mother Earth: 1.  Truth: Spirit of Enquiry, Purity, Unity in thought, word, and deed 2.  Right Conduct: Duty 3.  Love: Reverence and Selflessness 4.  Peace: Harmony and Gratitude 5.  Non- Violence: Universal love and Harmlessness “Inspired by our Go Green SSE lessons, our group 2 year 1 class has worked together to create awareness within their homes & schools about environmental protection. Keeping in mind that Swami says, “Waste not, Want Not! Our children are empowering themselves to make correct choices with regards to consumption of food, energy and effective usage of natural resources. Our spiritual journey is a process of inner refinement, which impacts our outer surroundings (our resonance). By refining our lifestyles with regards to food, energy conservation, etc. and moving towards Purity of thought, word, and deed which leads to the discovery of our latent Divinity! *Kindly note that our children have collected all recycled materials. They have brainstormed and conceptualized with the aid of the Guru and parents; they have put together this artwork. Important Facts about Climate Change & how we can Go Green to help Mother Earth heal! God in his greatness created this world in all its abundance so that man could live in peace and harmony together; but man with his wanton destruction & greed has wreaked havoc and is destroying the earth. • Climate change or Global warming is the change in the weather patterns, water supply and planting seasons on Earth. • Global warming, which stems from Natural causes Volcanoes and continental drift as well as Manmade, causes such as Ozone Depletion and Deforestation. • 80% of the world’s forests have been lost through Deforestation. • Almost 800 species on earth have been extinct. • Oil spill layers choke the earth, creating dead zones in our oceans. • 80% of water pollution comes from the land - from chemicals that creep into waterways as well as sewage, solid waste, fertilizers, and plastic, etc. • There is a plastic island (Great Pacific Garbage Patch) located between California and Hawai. • It is estimated that each year, 500 billion to 1 trillion plastics bags are used worldwide. • 75% of the fisheries are over-harvested & threatening their long-term sustainability. • More than 70% of the forests in the Amazon have been deforested, for livestock grazing. • Livestock farming contributes to 75% of global agricultural GHGs Carbon dioxide CO2, Methane CH4 and N2O (nitrous oxide) emissions • Agriculture also contributes heavily to environmental problems, from animal waste to chemicals, antibiotics to hormones, pesticides to fertilizers. What can we do to help our planet? It first starts with a mindset of saving and serving the planet, creating a sustainable lifestyle that does not harm the environment. Recycle, Reuse and reduce waste! Daily Tips: 1. Conserve Water. 2. Save Electricity. 3. Care for all insects, bees, and spiders. 4. Pick up trash. 5. Do not waste paper. 6. Walk when you can – use cars less frequently or carpool if you need to. 7. Try composting vegetable waste. 8. Become Vegetarian or Vegan. 9. Plant a tree as often as you can. 10. Grow your own vegetables and create a sustainable lifestyle. 11. Keep learning about the earth and encourage others to save our Mother Earth.  Jai Sai Ram, Guru Leshna Saikoolal, Group 2 Year 1 ~ Midrand Sai

Midrand Sai Blurb: “The Fate of our world rests in our tiny hands so let us make a difference in our small way to live our Swami’s values, and be ideal examples like Little Leaders that practice unity, purity and Divinity in our lives – let's protect our Mother Earth.”   In Avyan’s words: “Save water, keep it clean. Don’t pollute water!”   Midrand Sai SSE Group 1 year 1:  Canvas Size: 20x30cm   Value: Unconditional Love for all Animals and Sea life.   “Avyan Bhogal (age 5+) has tried to explain the plight of the sea creatures with the increase in plastic pollution in the oceans and waterways. “  Avyan takes the initiative to collect his recycling on a daily basis and consciously reminds his friends and family to do so as well.  He is educated and enlightened by documentaries, which ignites his passion for protecting the environment. It is with constant integrated awareness that we remain deeply rooted and connected to our Mother Earth.

Midrand Sai Inner Journey with Bhagawan- Leshna Saikoolal My journey with Swami began 31 years ago; I did not know him, only the hair, the big hair and mole on his cheek, that kept me mesmerized. How do I know, I was 4 at that time 1988, I followed my older sister to her class until I was old enough to start Balvikas by myself.  My first Guru was the epitome of selflessness and unconditional love. (Guru Pushpa Naidoo - Kenville Sai Center) I am certain Bhagawan himself may have chosen her to be this incredibly inspiring teacher. Throughout my Balvikas years and my youth, I have unconditional gratitude for learning and participating in His Divine Drama.   From a young age, I felt this deepened connection to Him. Throughout the years, His Divine Grace overflowed into a wealth of experiences, whether in pain or pleasure, happiness or sadness, my love for my Bhagawan became steadfast, I never questioned His Will.  My Lord became my Life and He walked with me through my teens, into youth and adulthood teaching me resilience, fortitude and forbearance from bringing me back to life after an unfortunate accident. He granted me boons and allowed me to live. He bestowed me with everything that I needed, a family, wonders of parenthood, to be self-reliant in business and becoming a SSE guru.  My every breath is His, and words fail me in describing the Grace that The Lord bestows upon His Loved ones. I am One amongst millions to be blessed beyond measure by His Grace.  Deepest gratitude to Guru Rita Goberdhan, Guru Shakila Harbhajun, Guru Indrani Naidoo and Uncle Rajen Cooppan for your unconditional love and guidance over the years. Thank you Bhagawan Baba. Love you. Leshna Saikoolal Inspirational Blog: @inspired_pathway Vegan Activist: @vege_sa Balvikas Guru – Midrand Sai

Midrand Sai An Open letter to Guru Devi Rao and Uncle Ronnie Rao –Newland Sai , Durban. Aum Sai Ram Uncle Ronnie and Guru Devi, Even though I have not seen or spoke to you both in ages, you are consistently in my thoughts and especially so during the Golden Jubilee preparations. Sometimes in life we never get to give gratitude or thanks to the people that mould us into who we become. I wanted to send you this message to let you know how you have effected my life resulting in the adult I have become. Guru Devi, the first time I walked into your balvikas class is still fresh in my mind. The love that you radiated is still felt after all these years. My first appearance of reading the story Nothing is useless at Thursday bhajans was my first exposure to public speaking, to think that I can now speak in front of thousands full of self confidence, that stems from the first opportunity you gave me. Every time I recite Vakra tunda, my mind wonders back to when you first taught me that stores and now I pass that onto my Balvikas children and my own children. You have given me a gift that keeps on giving. Uncle Ronnie, I remember the enthusiasm that you read announcements every week and your love for Swami and the great leader that you were and are and it inspires me to always choose the path of dharma. Tuesday study circles were a treat when you led it, you would always ask my opinion on the discourse and I would at the age of 8 pay careful attention to make certain that I say something firstly relevant and secondly that someone else did not say. In that way you also added to my self confidence to speak up and also remember Swami’s teachings. The both of you are so special to me and this Jubilee is a victory of not just to the children that took part but you as well for the inspiration you gave to me to take up the torch and pass it on. Below is the link to the Golden Jubilee celebrations, when you watch it remember the part you played in inspiring a little girl of 7 to take on the role of Program Director. https://youtu.be/fwww9PO56MM Love always Pashnee Balvikas Guru – Midrand Sai

Heuweloord Sai

Heuweloord Sai Aum Sai Ram My SSE journey began around 2007. My elder brother use to attend scouts and I too wanted to do something during the same time as him. My parents then enrolled me into the Heuweloord SSE program and ever since that day, there was no other place I'd prefer being on a Friday evening. My Friday's were never the same again. I have gained the most amazing memories and was taught the most useful life lessons and values and I became a step closer to God. My SSE family became my family away from home. I have had the most amazing Guru's who have shown me the way and helped me stay on the right path, the path of our beloved Sri Sathya Sai Baba. I would like to thank Aunty Kalay, Aunty Shamain, Aunty Krivi, Aunty Narissa, Avashni, Uncle Ravi, Uncle Vinesh, Uncle Yogi and my all time favorite Uncle Derolin Guru G as well as all of the other teachers that I have not mentioned and most importantly Swami for giving me this great opportunity. I would also like to thank my mum (Shamaine), dad (Raymond), brother (Theveshan), sister (Shivani) and my family and my friends for supporting me and walking this journey with me. I am grateful to everyone who has impacted my life no matter how small. My SSE student journey may have come to an end but my spiritual journey has only just begun and with a strong foundation set, I can finally build something amazing out of my life. Swami's teaching and values have helped me through the toughest of situations including the passing of my beloved grandmother and just chanting the Gayathri mantra has helped me when I became nervous and scared. Without the guidance of Swami and my family, I would not be as strong as I am today. I use to be a very conservative and shy girl but now I am coming out of my shell and putting Swami's teaching to use. One of my life goals is to help pass on the teaching of Swami and to make at least the smallest impact on another child's life the way the SSE program has impacted my life. Swami once said: \"Face all problems with courage and fortitude.\" Jai Sai Ram Thalisha Naidoo Heuweloord Sai Center

Heuweloord Sai Group 1: Puzzle on Unity of Faith

Heuweloord Sai My journey into Balvikas began when my parents took my sister and I to the first Balvikas lesson, introduced in South Africa by Mrs Diljeet Munchan many years ago. She made such an impact on my life that my journey since then has been as a student, teacher and convenor. I love all the different wings in the Sai Organization but Balvikas is closest to my heart. During my training as a Balvikas teacher, I had to write a poem as part of my POE. This was definitely a challenge for me and not something I was looking forward too. A poem did materialize in half an hour on a day during my lunch break and in the deepest part of my soul I know that Swami was the author of the poem. Kalay Govender Balvikas Guru
