This gathering of young kindred souls with a vision congruent to the Rotary philosophy is a very important one. PARNA DEB ROY DISTRCIT ROTARACT REPRESENTATIVE 2023-24 | RID 3240 PDG Prabhat Kedia District Governor 2007-08 & 2011-12 It is indeed a matter of honor and privilege for me getting this opportunity to address the members of the Rotaract fraternity of District 3240 through this ROTARACT DIRECTORY for Rotary Year 2023-24. A New Chapter is due to begin for Rotaractors from Rotary Year 2023-24. Rotaract Clubs would be regarded as full fledged members of Rotary International as all Rotaractors would be paying annual dues for their membership depending upon whether it is a Community based Club or a Institution based Club. Rotaractors are also allowed to hold membership in Rotary clubs without forfeiting their membership in Rotaract clubs. There has been a significant drop in the membership count of Rotaractors globally after the introduction of RI dues for Rotaract membership. India has the maximum number of Rotaract clubs (approx. 2950) with 68327 members as of 1st January 2023. It is therefore necessary for our district that we retain the membership count in the incoming Rotary year. The single most important factor in membership satisfaction is the club experience. How at home the members feel in your club, how rewarding the meetings are, and how engaged you feel in professional development and service projects. When members feel an emotional connect to their clubs, they cannot imagine leaving it. One thing that will make enormous difference in building and sustaining that connection is the comfort and care of your members. We are in the relationship business, and if we take care of each other – genuinely show concern for each other – then we will make friends for life, and we will do anything to widen that circle of friendship. Rtr Parna Debroy is taking charge as DRR of District 3240 and I congratulate her as she will be only the third lady DRR of the District in the last 33 years. I also learn that you are hosting South East Asian Multi District Event along with your District Installation on 9th July. To lead a Rotaract District is not a small task for a lady Rotaractor. I am sure she will be willing to try new approaches. We still need to do more worldwide to increase our female membership. Rotaract will grow again. Let’s redouble our efforts to bolster our clubs with great new members, then keep them for ever by providing comfort and care. All clubs depend on members to do their part of the task assigned to them and Rotaract District 3240 is a conglomerate of clubs where every member contributes to the success story of their club every day of the year. You identify potential new members, sponsor them, mentor and engage them to make them strong members of the club. Having worked with Temsusenla and Namra, I can say that they have set some benchmarks in the works they did but at the same time, I also don’t have any iota of doubt that you will surpass those and create a new yardstick for this district. Parna Deb Roy and fellow Rotaractors of RID-3240, Greetings from Rotaract South Asia MDIO! Rotaract International District 3240 lies in the North Eastern part of the Indian subcontinent between Nepal, China, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh. This district is one of the largest Rotaract districts in the world covering over 2,95,607 sq. kms of land. R.I. District 3240 is a district formed in the Year 1990 and encompasses nine states of India – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and Nine revenue districts of West Bengal. There are more than 40 Clubs in Rotaract District 3240. First of all I would like to give appreciation to Rtr. Rtn. Parna Deb Roy who is the Third Lady DRR in the history of RID 3240 comes from Rotaract Club of Namsai and is also thankful to those past Rotaractors who hold the legacy of this movement and contribute to this society. Rotaract works for developing professionalism among the young people, developing leadership skills, and knowing about the culture by creating friendship with the motto of ‘Fellowship through Service’. By breaking all the cultural barriers now we can know and enjoy the Rotaract movement internationally which broadens the scope of this movement. For me Rotaract is an organization that uplifts oneself. It develops your profile and prepares one to handle a crisis may what will be the situation. As a leader, your commitment and professionalism will set the tone for your club members, your example will motivate them to connect with the world. I always recall again and again why I served for the Rotaract? My Rotaract service has changed my life, and through my service, I have changed others as well. As you are part of the Rotaract movement, make service a priority of life and begin to open the doors in real achievements. I would love to tell my dear fellow Rotaractors that I have learnt many things and gathered many experiences with the help of you and with knowledge.
