"Surrealism isn't dead, its dreaming" by Terrance Lindall

“Surrealism isn’t dead, it’s dreaming,” this is the reaction of renowned contemporary New York artist Terrance Lindall to the assumption that surreal art died in the 1960s. “In fact,” he claims, “one of the largest and most dynamic art movements worldwide today is surreal/visionary.”

Lindall is in the best position to declare so because he organized the largest-ever international show of surrealists in October 2003. Called the “Brave Destiny,” the show gathered nearly 500 surreal artists from all over the globe. It was held at the Williamsburg Art & Historical (WAH) Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA, of which Lindall is president and executive director. An international Grand Surrealist Ball, the first in the United States, opened the show, in the tradition of Surrealist balls.
