This is a beautiful verse. It is saying when we give our lives ________________________ to Christ, we cast off the things of everyday life. We cast off ________________________ the affairs that distract us from really and truly giving full ________________________ service to Jesus Christ. That is what it means to die daily. ________________________ That is what it means to be a living sacrifice and to be a true ________________________ soldier. ________________________ ________________________ I do not claim to know what God's intention for your life is, or ________________________ how long you might live, or when you will die. It is different ________________________ for each person. When Jesus told Peter how he would die, ________________________ Peter asked the Lord: “But what about John?” Jesus ________________________ responded: “If I would have him live till I return, what is it to ________________________ you? You must follow Me.” We are not here to compare. We ________________________ are not here to say this is fair and that is not fair. Jesus ________________________ simply called Peter and said: “You must follow Me.” ________________________ ________________________ To die for Christ means different things for different people. ________________________ God is calling us to follow Him into active service. Active duty ________________________ in fighting against the enemy daily. Paul states in Philippians ________________________ 1:21: “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” If we truly ________________________ understand Christianity, it moves us from the fear of dying ________________________ into volunteering for danger. When you sign up for ________________________ Christianity, you sign up for trouble. You don't believe me? ________________________ ________________________ Look at the life of Job. Job was minding his own business. ________________________ The heavenly beings were having a conversation when ________________________ the enemy passed by. And God asked Satan: “Where are ________________________ you coming from?” Satan said: “I was walking around looking ________________________ for somebody to mess with.” And God (not the devil, but God) ________________________ asked Satan: “Have you considered my servant Job?” ________________________ ________________________ You see, it was not the devil's idea, but it was God's idea. ________________________ Have you ever considered that the trouble you are currently ________________________ in is because God referred your name to the enemy? ________________________ ________________________ WHEN YOU UNDERSTAND ________________________ CHRISTIANITY, IT MOVES YOU ________________________ FROM THE FEAR OF DYING INTO ________________________ VOLUNTEERING FOR DANGER. ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________

That, when Satan was looking for somebody to tempt, God ________________________ pulled your resume and saw you were worthy of trial; ________________________ because He needed you to interview for an opportunity to ________________________ make God known. ________________________ ________________________ A true soldier is somebody who goes out and fights in the ________________________ name of his master. Everybody else glorify his master ________________________ because of that soldier. The trials we face are sometimes not ________________________ because we have to die, but are there in order for us to show ________________________ that we are faithful to God. When we sign up for Christianity, ________________________ we sign up for trouble. Let me illustrate this by sharing a ________________________ story told by a pastor from the United States. ________________________ ________________________ He was the youth leader of the church and he and his youth ________________________ group went for whitewater rafting. As the youth leader, he ________________________ would be the brave leader showing the people what to do and ________________________ how to go through the things they were going to go through. ________________________ The only problem with this pastor going with as the youth ________________________ leader for whitewater rafting, was that he could not swim. As ________________________ they arrived at the venue to register, he went to the front of ________________________ the queue. The lady at the desk asked him whether he could ________________________ swim. His answer came: “No, I cannot.” Then she put a piece ________________________ of paper in front of him. He asked her what it was. She ________________________ answered: “A death waiver. When you sign it, you declare ________________________ that you are volunteering for this journey. If you lose your ________________________ life, your family does not have the right to sue us for ________________________ something that you voluntarily signed up for.” ________________________ ________________________ When we sign up for Christianity, we sign a death waiver, ________________________ saying that we volunteer for this journey and just in case our ________________________ lives do not turn out the way we planned, we cannot haul God ________________________ into the courts of our own conscience and hold Him guilty for ________________________ what we volunteered for. When we give our lives as soldiers ________________________ to Christ, we volunteer to live or to die. ________________________ ________________________ WHEN WE SIGN UP FOR ________________________ CHRISTIANITY, WE SIGN UP FOR ________________________ ________________________ TROUBLE. ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________

Nobody said that the road was going to be easy. God did not ________________________ bring us this far only to leave us. ‘Our Lord does not deceive ________________________ us about the road that we have to walk. He does not say to ________________________ us. “Do not fear; there are no dangers in your path.” He ________________________ knows there are trials and dangers, and He deals with us ________________________ plainly. He does not propose to take His people out of a ________________________ world of sin and evil, but He points them to a never-failing ________________________ refuge. His prayer for His disciples was: “I pray not that Thou ________________________ shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou will keep ________________________ them from evil.” “In the world,” He says: “You shall have ________________________ many tribulations; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the ________________________ world” (John 17:15; 16:33)’ Steps to Christ, p.122, 123 ________________________ (1892). {2MCP 479.2} ________________________ ________________________ Thus, when we give our lives to Christ, we might be called ________________________ upon to die for Christ in the trials and tribulations of life. Just ________________________ remember that you choose whether you sign up for this ________________________ trouble or not. You choose whether you pledge your loyalty to ________________________ God or not. Pledging your loyalty to God will enrage the devil, ________________________ for your fight is not against flesh and blood, but against ________________________ principalities. When Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego made ________________________ the declaration of their faith, refusing to bow down to the ________________________ golden image, Nebuchadnezzar was enraged and he ordered ________________________ the fire to be made seven times hotter. Being a soldier for ________________________ God, makes you an enemy of Satan. He is going to come at ________________________ you with all he has. He is going to try and turn you away from ________________________ your stubborn loyalty to God. ________________________ ________________________ John 16:33 says: “I have told you these things, so that in Me ________________________ you might have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but ________________________ take heart! I have overcome the world” (NIV). Satan knows ________________________ his time is short and he will intensify his temptations in our ________________________ lives when we lay our life at the foot of the cross. Life will not ________________________ always work out as we’ve planned. It will not always be ________________________ sunshine and roses, but God knows we love Him. ________________________ ________________________ IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE ________________________ TROUBLE, BUT TAKE HEART! I ________________________ HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD” ________________________ JOHN 16:33B ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________

The three Hebrew boys understood that life was not going to ________________________ be sunshine and roses, but still they made the declaration: ________________________ “We will not bow down. Our God is able to save us, but even ________________________ if he does not ..” They knew the risks of being soldiers in the ________________________ army of God. They were not afraid of dying if it was to come ________________________ to that. As Christians, death should also not scare us. We are ________________________ all going to die some or other time. Ecclesiastes 8:8 says: ________________________ “No one can keep from dying or put off the day of death. That ________________________ is a battle we cannot escape; and we cannot cheat our way ________________________ out.” The sooner we embrace the truth, the sooner we will be ________________________ free from fear. ________________________ ________________________ In boxing there is a saying: ‘The guy that is not afraid of ________________________ dying, is going to win.’ In life, the people who are not afraid ________________________ of dying, are going to win at the game of life. John 12:25 ________________________ says: “He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his ________________________ life in this world shall keep it unto all eternity.” ________________________ ________________________ Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:31: “I die daily!” You might say: ________________________ “Okay, but Paul is talking about dying to sin, not physical ________________________ death.” Actually, when you look at other translations, it reads: ________________________ “I face death daily!” Paul declared that his physical, mortal ________________________ life was being threatened on numerous occasions, until finally ________________________ he was executed. ________________________ ________________________ Paul did not fear physical death because he had already ________________________ died, not physically, but to sin. He admonished us to do the ________________________ same. In Romans 6:10-11 we read: “And so, because He ________________________ died, sin has no power over Him. In the same way you are to ________________________ think of yourself as dead, so far as sin is concerned, but ________________________ living in fellowship with God through Jesus Christ.” Paul is ________________________ saying, when we die to sin, we truly live and not only do we ________________________ truly learn how to live life, but we truly do not fear death. ________________________ ________________________ N BOXING THERE IS A SAYING: ________________________ ‘THE GUY THAT IS NOT AFRAID OF ________________________ ________________________ DYING, IS GOING TO WIN. ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________

Paul learnt to live for Christ. He also learnt that he is mortal ________________________ and he would die. As the sword of the executioner descended ________________________ on the head of Paul and the shadow of death gathered ________________________ around him, his mind grasped the Saviour's promise that ________________________ says: “I will raise them to life in the last days” (John 6:40). He ________________________ did not fear physical death because he had lived life to the ________________________ best of his ability. He did not fear physical death because he ________________________ knew that death in this life was not the end. He counted it ________________________ pure joy when he faced trials. He counted it a living sacrifice ________________________ to be called worthy to die for his Saviour. ________________________ ________________________ Some of you are so careful in living your lives, that you might ________________________ as well not live at all. The Christian life involves risks and ________________________ dangers and those things make your life worthwhile. Live ________________________ each day as if it was your last day. If you live each day as if it ________________________ was your last, certainly one day when it will be your last day, ________________________ you will be ready. ________________________ ________________________ If today was the last day in your life, what would you do? ________________________ Would you do the things you planned for the day? Almost ________________________ everything falls away in the face of death. If I shove your ________________________ head down the water right now and I do not allow you to ________________________ come up for breath, and you are brought face to face with ________________________ your Maker, would you worry about money? Would you worry ________________________ about the terrible things your boss did and the unfairness of ________________________ how the company has treated you? Would you worry about ________________________ food? Would you worry about clothes? The answer is no. ________________________ ________________________ Facing death daily helps us to focus, to concentrate on the ________________________ things of life that are truly important. The best way of ________________________ avoiding the trap of thinking you have something to lose is to ________________________ always remember that you are going to die some or other ________________________ time. ________________________ ________________________ SOME OF YOU ARE SO CAREFUL IN ________________________ LIVING YOUR LIVES, THAT YOU ________________________ ________________________ MIGHT AS WELL NOT LIVE AT ALL. ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________

Do not be afraid to die. Embrace the truth that we are all ________________________ going to die. This will clear away the dross of life and allow ________________________ you to truly live for God and truly live to grow in Him. ________________________ Will you today declare like Job: “Though He slay me, yet will ________________________ I serve Him”? Will you today put up your hand and volunteer ________________________ to be a soldier, willing to die for the case of Christ? ________________________ ________________________ \"THOUGH HE SLAY ME, YET WILL I ________________________ SERVE HIM” JOB 13:15 ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________ ________________________
