[ PARKING INFORMATION ] Parking permits are required at the Oceanside, San Elijo and Community Learning Center (CLC) campuses of MiraCosta College Monday–Saturday. Parking permits may be purchased from parking permit vending machines as follows: • Oceanside Campus: A day pass may be purchased for $1. There are four parking permit vending machines located on the Oceanside Campus in Parking Lots 2A, 3C, 4C and 5A. In Parking Lot 3C and 4C, students may use debit and credit cards, a one-dollar bill or exact change (no pennies). Class/Workshop Refund Policy: Refunds will be made up to three business days prior to the class start date. No refunds will be given once a class has started. A $15 cancellation fee will be retained for each refund. A full refund will be given if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Unused attendance is not transferable to another class session. Excursion Refund Policy: Refunds will be made up to five business days before the excursion, only if the excursion is full and someone on the waiting list is available to take your place. There will be a $25 cancellation fee if a replacement can be found. Work Skills Training Refund Policy: Refunds will be made up to five business days, depend- ing on course, prior to the class start date. A $75 cancellation fee for work skills programs will be retained for each refund. A full refund will be given if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment. WORK SKILLS TRAINING Phlebotomy Technician Program with NCCT Exam◊ MiraCosta College Community Education & Workforce Development, in partnership with PhlebotomyU, is proud to offer this excellent opportunity for those seeking to enter the medical field as a CPT1 phlebotomy technician. Students are required to complete: • A minimum of 20 hours in basic phlebotomy • A minimum of 20 hours in advanced phlebotomy • A minimum of 40 hours in a laboratory course in applied phlebotomy • 40–120 hours of clinical externship in a healthcare setting Students who pass the course will also be eligible to take the certification examination offered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) in class at the conclusion of the course. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a state-approved training certificate. Note: A $100 California CPT 1 License Application fee, BLS Certification and all immunization are not included in the tuition fee and must be paid by the student. The Real Estate License Program provides the perfect training for students planning to enter the real estate profession, and for those currently working in real estate and related areas who want to increase their knowledge of this field. This program fulfills the pre-licensing education requirements mandated by the State of California. The duration of the full program, comprised of three courses, is 3-months/135-hours and includes testing preparation and the opportunity to take a practice real estate exam. Course includes: Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice and Real Estate Finance & Economics. CERTIFICATIONS: If students attend all three courses, complete the necessary classwork and attendance requirements, and pass the required class tests, they will receive a MiraCosta College Certificate of Accomplishment. Licensing to become a real estate salesperson is conducted by the California Department of Real Estate at dre.ca.gov. To obtain a California real estate salesperson license, candidates must first qualify for and pass a written examination. FALL 2023 WORK SKILLS TRAINING Uniquely Abled: CNC Operator Program◊ For Level 1 Autism This intensive job training program offers qualified candidates the needed training to succeed as an entry-level Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist. Large and small companies In San Diego have the need for skilled, trained CNC machinists to fabricate a wide variety of components in the region’s industrial manufacturing companies. The program teaches participants important skills in manual and CNC machining, including self-inspection, documentation and record keeping in the manufacturing environment. Participants will learn to read and interpret blueprints and product drawings, including the use of tolerances in measurement. Additionally, participants will learn applied mathematics operations to set­up and verify machining operations. Participants will learn how to work safely in an industrial environment, specifically the safe and accurate set-up and operation of CNC machines, while ensuring product flow and product quality.
