To promote and appreciate the young innovators around the world in an innovation and invention exhibition, the International Young Inventors Award (IYIA) is organized annually. The 5th edition of IYIA was organized by the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA) and supported by the International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA). PCSHS’s students were selected by the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA), the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) and the International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA) to participate in the event.

The International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) was founded in 1904 by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII). The aim of IEYI is to encourage creativity and invention from teenagers. Young inventors from across the world, including both developing and developed countries, meet up in the exhibition and observe each other’s invention in science and technology, from moderate to advanced, to compete, transfer knowledge, and build up cooperation among countries. PCSHS’s students were selected by the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) to represent the country to participate in the event.

By participating in YIC, the participants were expected to develop creative and innovative thinking skills, and teamwork dynamics to solve problems, use resources such as the internet, library and experts to hone their research skills, and enhance self- esteem and confidence.
