The night we met Mr.Arena, Mr.Bray, Miss Filippini, Miss Rocco
Chapter 1 On a cold, dark Friday night in Miami there was a lot of wind. There was no one outside, because of the bad weather. Marie-Claire and Jean-Luc went out for dinner and afterwards they passed the famous milkshake bar Phillies. Jean-Luc is 35 years old and is a rich man. He is clothed in black and he is a surgeon. Jean-Luc has been married to Marie-Claire for 8 years and they have already been together for 12 years. Marie-Claire is 34 years old , she has no job and she takes advantage of Jean-Luc’s money. On that cold, dark Friday night, they ordered their drinks with Pop, the milkshake maker. Pop is an old man with grey hair who is 55 years old. He is the boss of the milkshake bar and he has 3 kids. While they were drinking their milkshakes, a strange man entered the bar and he took a seat across Claire and Jean. When Claire saw the man , she thought he looked familiar. She couldn’t remember immediately where she knew him from. After a while, she remembered she had a relationship with him in their younger years, when she was 20 years old. They had been in a relationship for 2 years, because Claire needed money to pay for her studies. The man is called Milos and he had a lot of money, thanks to his career on the illegal internet. He is a drug and weapon dealer on the deep, black web. Milos has his connections with his soulmate, AB, who helps Milos with his dark plan to get Claire back, because he is still in love with her. It starts to rain very hard. Claire and Jean want to go home. That is a problem for Claire, because her umbrella is broken because of the wind and her hair may not get wet. Her husband starts to ask questions why she wants go home. They had been sitting in the bar for just a quarter while Milos was texting his friend AB to discuss the approach to get Claire back
Chapter 2 Claire had been suspecting that Milos or one of his thugs was tracing her steps everywhere, she felt as if she had been followed for days since her landing at Campveal Airport after her relaxing cruise in the Mediterranean sea aboard of her husband’s yacht for their wedding anniversary. Her suspects were confirmed when she noticed that on a serviette that Pop had brought to their table before receiving their milkshakes, it was written in a hasty way the sentence “Get out!”. The barman had read what Milos had texted while he was whispering something dubious keeping his eyes rivetted on the perfect figure of Claire, dressed in a very elegant green dress that stressed the shade of her almond shaped eyes; the passing of the time hasn’t changed her. Pop had also noticed that Milos had an ear-bud in his ear, probably he was talking with AB, his accomplice. Pop knew about Milos and Claire’s unique friendship as he had witnessed the blooming of their relationship when they were younger. After having read those words, Claire got more and more nervous and, her getting pale worried her husband so much that he got convinced to take her home. When the couple got out of Phillies under the pouring rain, Milos, victim of one of his rage attacks, overthrew his milkshake on the floor, grabbed his coat and got out of the bar so upset that he didn’t say a word.Promptly, Pop mopped the floor. While cleaning up the mess he found an envelope.Initially he didn't want to tear it, because knowing Milos's job and his vindicative character, he would have got in trouble if he had opened it.His curiosity was gnawing him, he couldn’t resist: he opened it. A bundle of some of Claire's photos he didn't know about, were spread on the table. The situation was clear: Pop understood that Milos hadn’t overcome having been dumped by Claire: he was obsessed by the thought of her. That morning Jean-Luc went, as usual, to have breakfast at Phillies and Pop showed him what he had found in the envelope...
Chapter 3 Jean-Luc looked at the pictures. He saw his wife in their house, at a park, at Pop’s milkshake bar, at the supermarket and in her car. Jean-Luc was in the pictures too. He decided to return home, but his wife wasn’t there. He panicked, looked for her all around the house. Actually, she wasn’t there. He took his phone and called Pop to know if he had seen his wife. Pop answered no and advised Jean-luc to look for his wife on the spots which were in the photos. Jean-Luc went to the park hoping to meet his wife there. He searched every nook and cranny but he didn’t find her. However, as he was growing desperate, he suddenly caught sight of Milos. He tried to find out if his wife was with him or not. He approached him and grabbed his collar. He asked him where his wife was and tightened his grip. He threatened him with his fist and asked him to answer. Panicked, Milos told him he didn’t know. He told him that if he had known, he would have told him. Jean-Luc shook Milos and told him that if he had lied, he would have murdered him. He finally let go of him and he sighed. Jean-Luc asked him if he could help him to find Claire. Milos, after a long thought, decided that being two was simpler than being alone. He grudgingly accepted.
Chapter 4 \"You’d better go home, to wait until she gets there,\" Milos said. Jean-Luc returned home. In the meanwhile, Milos got a text from AB. He found Claire, having an affair with another woman. Milos sent a message to Jean-Luc with a fake address where he could find Claire. At the same time, AB and Milos were driving to Claire’s mistress to kidnap her. They entered the house very aggressively and took Claire with them. They drove away with squealing tires and a big dust-cloud behind them. She was shocked by the whole situation and she screamed for help. The two men drove to a forest where they had an old, wooden house where no one could find or hear them. Jean-Luc arrived at the address that Milos had given him, but there was nothing to see. He began to start thinking what was happening when his smart phone beeped as it was receiving a picture of Claire tied up to a chair. He called Milos and threatened to call the cops if he did not say where Claire was. In the background of the photo there was a window through which he could also see some trees. There was only one forest near the city and Jean-Luc knew that there was a little wooden cabin. Immediately he drove to that place. He stopped his car far from the shack so Milos and AB could not hear him. Very quietly, he got to the wooden house. He sneaked closer and closer to it and heard someone screaming. ’HELP! Help me please!’ Jean-Luc recognized the voice of his wife Claire. He was scared and didn’t know what to do.
chapter 5 While he was thinking about what to do, he remembered that he had his phone camera, and he thought that taking photos of Milos, AB and Claire could have been useful to prove the crime that was happening. He tried to take a photo, but while he was pressing the button he remembered that he had forgotten to put his phone in silent mode, so as soon as a click was heard Jean-Luc jumped out of his skin trying to cover up the sound. But it was too late, Milos and AB had heard it; they looked out the window, AB opened the door, but they didn’t see anything. Jean-Luc was hiding in a bush, that’s why they didn’t find him; but there was another problem he didn’t remember: he had left his car on the road, and Milos saw it and recognized it as Jean-Luc’s. At first he was surprised, he couldn’t believe that Jean-Luc managed to reach them only with a video, and thinking about it his anger exploded, he came back into the house, Jean-Luc heard strange noises, he thought for a moment that Claire was going to be killed, but then Milos came out of the door with a Glock in that colour which is illegal in the USA, because it blends in the environment, and blew all the four tires of the car… what can he do now? Jean-Luc was a goner because Milos was ready to find him and kill him at all costs. chapter 6 Jean-Luc saw that the scene was complicated. He wanted to keep calm so as to be sure not to fail his plan. So he took a deep breath and thought calmly about how to knock out Milos without being spotted by AB who could immediately kill his wife. He watched as Milos walked around the cabin again and again when he realized that Milos had been in the doorway several times. He thought if he could knock him in the head he could make AB believe it was Milos who opened the door. That way, Milos would be knocked out, so he would get his weapon back and get into the cabin to free his wife. He rescheduled for a few minutes and when he was decided he crouched down and went behind several bushes. Approaching the hut he hid near the wall and waited for Milos. Once Milos was near the door, Jean-Luc stood up abruptly and pushed the door violently into Milos's head. When Milos fell to the ground Jean-Luc rushed and retrieved his weapon. He stepped into the doorway and pointed the gun directly at AB. He looked at his wife and approached, keeping the gun pointed at AB. He untied her and approached AB asking him to give him his car keys. AB, trembling, gave him the keys and moved away from the passage to let him pass. Jean-Luc and his wife fled and returned home as soon as possible. Once home they laughed nervously. Once the laughs were over, they hugged each other and decided to call the police.
