The Chairman’s ruminaTions Dear Principal, As we prepare ourselves for the first offline session in two years, I want to congratulate you on the completion of the session 2021-22. After having perfected the kinks of the online platform in 2020-21, session 2021-22 must have been a more smooth and organic journey. For this, you should feel proud and triumphant. Now, let us get ready for the re-entry of children into school. It may seem like a daunting task to acclimatize children to school life again; however, it shall prove to be a rewarding one as well. Students and teachers will experience a process of renewal and rebirth. I wish you the best of luck and wisdom during this process. I would recommend partnering with parents during this transition period, creating synergistic alliances, to aid the development of children. I hope teachers and parents can act as catalysts and facilitators for children’s continued growth. Once again, I wish you luck, success and accomplishment in the coming session 2022-23. Dr. R.K. Arya Chairman
The manaGer’s musinGs Dear Principal, After facing unprecedented times for the past two years, the world is ready to limp back to normalcy. As we pick up the pieces and start to move forward, we are faced with novel challenges and problems. The biggest challenge is re- adjusting to the ‘normal’ and finding our feet once again. Some children will re- enter school life, while others will enter school for the first time after experiencing online schooling for two years. While online schooling offers a semblance of offline learning experiences, it covers only a fragment of what we achieve in offline school. Therefore, the holistic development of students has been vastly hindered. Hence, students' transition into school life would be a challenge for which we must prepare ourselves. Our school has excellent infrastructure, a dedicated faculty and the superior pedagogical practices of DAV, making it a distinct and sought-after Nursery School. Therefore, we are more prepared to cater to the needs of the foundational years of a child than any other school. The confidence, determination and skills displayed by our students bear testimony to our efforts and excellence. In the coming session, our focus must be on strengthening our core areas so that we may be emboldened to overcome our shortcomings. We must find ways to make this early childhood experience rewarding and stimulating for our young ones. Find ways to partner with parents and create opportunities for students to learn, grow and flourish. It is a crucial session; make the most of it. I wish you success! Sneh Verma Manager
From The PrinCiPaL’s DesK Dear Parents, I am ecstatic to end this session on a positive note. Even though this year started in a state of panic, on the cusp of the second lockdown, it ended on a hopeful and life-affirming note. I thank you all for staying strong and cooperative during the tough times. Now, the worst is behind us as we step into a new era. For the first time in two years, we shall see our lovely children back in school. We are waiting with bated breath to welcome them back! Despite the dark times, the last session was successful and fruitful for students and teachers alike. Many exciting activities were conducted, and new initiatives were taken. As teachers became more comfortable and confident with teaching on the online platform, students became more motivated to learn and grow. For this, I applaud our excellent staff and faculty for working tirelessly and fearlessly. They remain determined, passionate and committed as ever, ready to take on the challenges of the new session. Even though online teaching provided an excellent substitute for offline experiences, it wasn’t always holistic or inclusive in its coverage. In the new session, we shall endeavour to correct the cognitive, emotional and social dents caused to children’s development in the past two years. With this resolve and armed with our commitment to excellence, we believe we can achieve the impossible again. This newsletter shall give you a sneak peek into the year gone by, but it shall also be a window into the collective effort and hard work of parents, students and teachers. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed curating it. Happy Reading! Regards Preeti Sethi Headmistress
