PERSONALITY F CUSAn outstanding woman—Let’s get to know Patricia better Ash: Welcome to our second edition of the re-aim magazine. Our personality of the quarter for Q2 is our one and only Patricia Obo-Nai. She’s here with me and I have some very exciting questions for her. But before I start, I just want to say a big thank you to all of you for sending us your feedback on the first edition. We’ve made some tweaks, added a few videos so hopefully you all are excited. Ash: Patricia Pat: Hi Ash Ash: Thank you so much for joining for the interview. First of all, I have to say Congratulations for being se- lected during the International Women's’ day. Group did the top 100 Women in Red and of course you were among the top hundred globally. Before I delve into the more serious questions, I’ll start with an easy one. Everyone knows you’re a twin. Tell me about growing up a twin and how different are you from your twin. Who was more troublesome and who was calmer? Pat: Most certainly, I agree that half the business will agree that I was the calmer one and I still am. My mum was an only child and my grandmother was also an only child, so for her to have her first set of children as twins, it was big news. She spent her money taking care of us and dressing us up. She bought the same clothes for us, same shoes, same socks same hairstyle until probably form 4 and form 5. Ash: What school did you go to? Pat: Bishop Bowers. We were all in the same school. Bishop Bowers then St. Jo…. We were in Presec together and tech together too. We only spilt when we were choosing courses. I id Sciences and she did Social Scienc- es. Ash: I think one thing that defines you, when we say Patricia Obo-Nai is that youre a Female Engineer, a for- mer CTO for a while from Tigo to Vodafone and now to a Commercial Space. So what defined or what led to your decision to be an Engineer? Watch the full interview here

Seyram: The name is Seyram Amuzu. I’ve been with Vodafone for two years now. I joined through the customer apprenticeship program and moved on to become an FTE. I’ve been in the cantonments shop since I joined Vodafone and it’s been wonderful being in Customer Service especially with the kind of boss I have. Esther: How are the day-to-day activities at the Retail Shop? Seyram: The shop starts work at 8am but we get to work at 7:15 for morning huddle to be briefed on the new Vodafone products and services. Then we set-up and start receiving customers. Customers come in for all sort of reasons but the most priority is that they leave excited. 3 If an employee is leaving the company, is his number changed and all his credits and data bundle given to him? -Gideon Yes, when an employee is leaving the company, their number is changed from 020 200 to 020 300/400. This is done to recognize a 020 200 number as a Vodafone employee. Book of the Quarter Knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave—Fredrick Dauglass

Book of the Quarter “HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE” Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People” is arguably the greatest book ever written about how to handle people across every sphere of influence under the sun. As a young man, I remember being held spellbound and transfixed by the book. It was at an abandoned shed around my neighbourhood that I chanced upon it. I have never been the same again! Dale was a salesman, who eventually made his sales unit the national leader in the firm in which he worked in the USA. From there, he re- signed and started earning big money teaching courses in public speak- ing and confidence – using his experiences from when he was a Sales- man. The rest is history. His unique adoption of the English Language and his descriptions have stayed with me till today. Sometimes I find myself plagiarising some of his lines. It was in this book I learned how to get anyone to like and listen to me – no matter their mood or disposition. On criticism, Dale has this wonderful insight to share: “Criticism is futile because it puts a person on the defensive and usually makes him strive to justify himself. Criticism is dangerous, because it wounds a person’s precious pride, hurts his sense of im- portance, and arouses resentment. …. Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain—and most fools do. But it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.” On Dealing with People, read the statement below from the Author: “When dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are deal- ing with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity.” For a book that was written as far back as the 1920s, it is magical to find that the lessons in there are as relevant today as they were when the book first came out. Dale’s legendary status soared after the publication and he became a toast of Mayfair to all Americans and the world. You ignore this book at your own peril! Digital Street Change is the only constant in life —Heraclitus Digital Transformation

Digital Street What is the bitcoin craze about?L ike the California Gold Rush of 1848–1855, our world today is hit with a new craze surrounding digital forms of money; Bitcoin. If you are a little familiar with the internet and social media, you may have come across claims of some individuals being several times richer “overnight”through Bitcoin. You may wonder whether this whole bitcoin business is another scam or ticking timebomb waiting to go off.Though Bitcoin and the technology backing it seem to be for computer geeks, there are other simplethings about this new form of money that may interest you. Below are few salient points that can helpyou get a little grip on this digital currency under 10 minutes. Don’t stop reading…What is Bitcoin?Bitcoin is the world’s first cryptocurrency and decentralized digital currency. This is due to the fact thatthe system works without a central regulatory body unlike most world currencies. It was introduced bya Japanese, Satoshi Nakamoto, in January 2009 using the block chain technology. Is Bitcoin the only digital currency? No, it isn’t! In the past few years, other cryptocurrencies like Litecoin, Etherium, Zcash, Ripple, Dash, amongst others have been introduced. Bitcoin however still remains the most popular, accepted andwidely used in the cryptocurrency world of payments and transfer. Is Bitcoin some sort of “booming investment”?Well, depends on how one defines the term “investment”, however, Bitcoin is simply a form of digitalmoney issued and accepted for payment just like the Ghana Cedi on your mobile wallet. Is Bitcoin safe?Though as at now, Bitcoin is not accepted in all jurisdictions, the technology backing the currencymakes it very difficult to hack or control. Each unit of Bitcoin spent has a digital signature that pre-vents the same from being used for multiple transactions at once. The “live wire” of Bitcoin lies in thevery volatile nature of its value. The price of 1bitcoin to a dollar keeps changing per the minute basedon how much of it people want to buy or sell (demand and supply). It is not monopolized or controlledby any state or sovereign bank, its trust lies in the hands of its users. Hence it is termed by experts asrisky due to the uncertainties in its value.Read more hereWritten by: Kwamina Arthur
