DRUM CORPS INTERNATIONAL® CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS Mission Statement The mission of Drum Corps International is to bring the life-enriching benefits and enjoyment of marching music performing arts to more people worldwide. We do this by creating a stage for participating organizations to engage in education, competition, entertainment, and the promotion of individual growth. Vision Statement A world in which the positive life-transforming personal and societal benefits of marching music performing arts are widely recognized and enjoyed. Introduction The DCI Performers Showcase is designed to maintain the continuity of the DCI Individual & Ensemble competition that has been a part of the DCI World Championships since 1974. This online event format for Summer 2020 is intended to provide an alternative to the COVID-19 restrictions currently in place. Given the current circumstances, this online version will offer an opportunity for eligible performers to showcase their talents while supporting the relevance of the DCI brand as a top tier music performance activity. In the absence of a 2020 competitive season, it also provides a platform for performers, not currently active in DCI’s member corps, an extension to participate. This manual is designated by the Drum Corps International Member Organizations as its official instructions, definitions and interpretations for all events operated and governed by DCI. The material contained herein has been adopted by Drum Corps International for use at all of its sponsored and sanctioned events.
