2 Welcome to our first edition of “The Design Booklet”. We are really proud and exuberant to acclaim our young designers ( common core students) as well as young models ( primary students) who have had the opportunity to quickly and easily learn from many workshops related to designing traditional Moroccan garments for kids. This project aims at teaching participants the basis of drafting and cutting Moroccan traditional clothes in a modern way. The success of this project is achieved thanks to our pupils’ commitment and teachers’ collaboration, great effort and enthusiasm they put forth throughout the academic year 2018-2019 in order to produce this modest booklet. Much thanks and gratitude go to the administrative staff for giving us the opportunity to accomplish this task .I also take the opportunity to thank Miss. Hanane Hajjami ,the primary English teacher and Mrs. Fatiha Hasnaoui , the Computer Studies teacher ,who devoted their time so as to make this project fruitful and successful. Samira Bouqallaba.

3 This booklet ,which is divided into three related sections, has been written to provide general guidelines and basic rules to trace pattern for Moroccan traditional clothes: Caftan,Djellaba,Jabadore and Selham. Section one takes the form of a picture dictionary of all gadgets needed for designing Moroccan traditional clothes. Section two consists of patterns: these are patterns for the bodice, sleeves, hood, traditional pants, cape and a skirt alongside with fairly clear rules explaining how to trace them. The third section clarifies the last step in which different ornaments are added to beautify and garnish Moroccan traditional garments. Hanane Hajjami
