THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL I wonder who is going to walk into my class, what surprises are in store this year. On 15th April 2020, at 2:00 pm we welcomed our tiny tots of kindergarten on the virtual platform to their first day of Kindergarten. It was a special and different experience for each and every one. Admist the chaos caused by COVID 19 pandemic, knowledge and wisdom knocked on the door of every child through E-Learning. We proudly welcomed our little ones through online screens. They were so excited and enthusiastically waiting for their new journey to start. The teacher and students had an interactive session. Each student was eagerly waiting for their turn to introduce them- selves . As part of the special day, an activity on ‘Welcome to Kindergarten’ was done by our ti- ny tots. The first day went off well with lots of excitement and fun.

ACTIVITIES

PRAYER & GREETINGS We all feel blessed having another new day in our life filled with hope. As a part of our school learning, we start our day with the school prayer giving out all hearts and minds by praising the Lord for this beautiful day. The most beautiful lines “Everything I am…” is our school prayer. Through means of the prayer, we communicate with Lord. Thanking him for everything he has given us and this is the most promising and positive moment of Our session starts with “Meet and Greet.” This is the best way to built & maintain a strong relationship between a student and teacher. Since, we have virtual classes, but we still follow the custom of “Meet & Greet.” as we do in school, where the teacher logs-in 15 minutes prior the classes, where she “Meet & Greet” each and every student one by one. The good practice of “Meet & Greet” motivates and makes them feel more comfortable during their the session.

RHYMES Rhymes and stories are very important for language acquisition and for speech development. So we started our day by singing Good Afternoon song .The children enjoyed by singing and doing the actions along with the teacher. Rhymes are a child's first experience with words. It helps them to develop their vocabulary. When actions are linked to words in the story and rhyme, it helps to boost motor skills and improves the rhythm and movement in children. We the Bhavanites of Kindergarten start our day by singing and doing some actions play. So this month we learned to recite - “Hot cross buns Rhyme.”

THE EARTH DAY \"Friendly Planets are hard to find, Save our Earth-Our Home\". In midst of COVID -19 pandemic, our tiny tots of kindergarten celebrated Earth day in their own little way to spread the awareness on saving our home planet- Earth. Our KG1 students were dressed up in earth colour- blue and green. This was a special day which began with singing an Earth song – ‘Earth is my home’. The teacher explained to them about importance of our planet Earth. The importance of 3-R's were explained throughout the session. How to reuse materials, discontinue the use of plastic bags, to go green be more environment friendly and to plant more trees.



THE RED DAY \"Red is the first colour of spring. It's the real colour of rebirth of beginning .\"Andie Condie “Roses are red, Strawberries are red, Apples are red: so are the Cherries\" by sending this Quote, we and the little Bhavanites of KG 1 celebrated the Red colour day on 28th April 2020, Tuesday. All the tiny tots of KG 1 were dressed up in Red colour clothes holding various objects in red colour. The children participated in colouring activity related to red colour. A lovely day passed by, getting introduced to the colour of love and happiness.
