OBJECTIVES:- Following are the objectives to be achieved by the end of the session: • To encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man’s point of view , form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner. • To develop and enhance decision making abilities. • To instill a respect and tolerance for the views of others. • To develop an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively.

COMMITTEES 1)LOK SABHA – DELIBERATION ON THE CURRENT SCENARIO IN INDIA a) Agenda should primarily focus on the following domains : • Indian Economy • Secular fabric of Indian society • India and the world b)PRESENTATION OF THE PARLIAMENTARY MEMBERS • Ruling party ,Opposition and other alliances should use an appropriate backdrop to represent their political parties. • All the participants are required to place a placard bearing their name and the political party they are representing.

PROCEDURE DAY 1 (28 JAN 2021) TIME The following procedure Opening Ceremony 9.00 – 10.00 a.m. shall take National Anthem 10.00 – 10.10 a.m. Attendance and Oath by the Speaker 10.10 – 10.20 a.m. place during two days Statement from the members of the house 10.20 – 10.40 a.m. session of Tea Break 10.40 – 11.00 a.m. Session I : Parliamentary discussion 11.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. Mock Parliament. Lunch Break 1.00 – 1.30 p.m. Session II : Parliamentary discussion 1.30 – 3.00 p.m. Speaker’s address to end the session 2.30 p.m. DAY 2 (29 JAN 2021) TIME National Anthem and address by the Speaker 9.00 – 9.15 a.m. Session III : Parliamentary discussion 9.15 a.m. – 12.15p.m. Lunch Break Session IV : Informal Parliamentary discussion 12.15 – 12.45p.m. Tea Break 12.45 – 2.30 p.m. National Song 2.30 – 2.45 p.m. Address by the Principal 2.45 – 3.00 p.m. 3.00 p.m.

Note: An informal session or adjournment of maximum 15 minutes can be allotted to the house at the sole discretion of the Speaker. The Speaker has the authority to put into effect any order or procedure that the speaker may feel is required for the proper functioning. For the benefit of debate, the speaker has the right to start the second day directly from any point; however the same shall be informed at the end of day 1. The speaker may on the sole discretion amend or form any rule at any time for the benefit of the committee and may call upon the members to raise substantive questions. As per Lok Sabha procedures, the session of Youth Parliament will start with the the arrival of the Speaker which is announced by the Marshal as “Hon. Members, the Hon. Speaker” Thereafter the entire House stands up. The Speaker before taking his seat first bows to his left, then to his right and then in front of him. The Members from the respective sides also respectfully bow to the chair before taking their seats.” OATH OR AFFIRMATION: The Speaker will take up the procedure of the House in the order in which it is printed in the list of procedure or may take oath collectively.

2)INDIAN PRESS – Photography , journalists and caricature. Participating schools to prepare a 1-2 minutes movie covering the event which would be adjudged by the Organising Committee.
