Monthly Newsletter Bhavan’s Pearl BHAVANS PEARL WISDOM SCHOOL MANAGED BY BHARATIYA VIDYA BHAVAN MIDDLE EAST MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL It is our immense pleasure to welcome all our parents and students, both the existing and new, to a great academic year, here, at Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School. We are now fully prepared to welcome our students back to school for the new Academic year 2022-2023. We are really thrilled to have 100% of our students physically back to the school, after two years. Our teachers and staff are eagerly waiting to see our kids with enthusiasm and excitement to be back to school campus and learn. We are slowly getting back to normalcy. We are looking forward to hav- ing many events to be conducted physically on campus including parent orientation sessions, merit evening and many more!. We are very sure, with the return of students, the new academic year is going to be amazing! During this academic year, we will be operating classes from KG to Grade 10. We request all our valued parents to be active members of our school community. With your support we will be able to ensure excellent academic achievement for our students and will be able to host lots of events and programs. We continue to be committed in ensuring that your children receive the best support to learn and grow. The safety and well-being of our stu- dents and staff will continue to be our top priority. I am really happy to serve our school community as the principal and strive to build meaningful relationship that support student’s academic progress and personal development. My door is always open, and you are welcome to discuss any matter related to the child and school. We are really excited for the opportunity to work with you and your child to provide a safe and productive learn- ing environment. We eagerly look forward to greet our students and parents. TEACHERS ORIENTATION PROGRAM TRIGGERS PEARL’S NEW ACADEMIC YEAR “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” – Benjamin Franklin To equip the teachers with the advanced and innovative teaching-learning strategies, Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School orga- nized a week-long teacher orientation program for all its teachers. Principal Dr. K T Nandakumar enlightened the teachers with the new academic plans to enhance a productive learning environment where the learners get the best learning for their all-round development. The new curriculum was introduced with a variety of learning programs and strategies where the teachers get aquatinted with latest and innovative teaching techniques to embellish the learning environment where the chil- dren actively engage and produce the best learning output. Session on Staff & Student’s well-being policy We at BPWS are committed in ensuring that we nurture a positive atmosphere for the entire Pearl community. In order to help emphasize the importance of wellbeing and to ensure that the wellbeing of our staff and students re- mains at the forefront of our school’s mind, wellbeing policies are a good way in which to achieve this. The School Social Worker had conducted an orientation program on 6th April 2022 for all teachers to have a better understand- ing about school policies of Behavior management Child protection, Anti bullying, counselling policy and staff &student’s well-being policy .The session also explained about Screening process of student of determination and ULABS (Unit-Learning and Behavior Support) services in detail. Joining hands to help the PEARLS Shine. (Parent Orientation) “A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the center of our universe.” Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School organized an orientation program in April 2022, for the parents to familiarize them, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. Welcoming parents to the new academic session, Dr. K T Nandakumar- Principal, BPWS spoke at length about the benefits of effective communication between parents and teachers; he laid emphasis on a strong connection with the school patrons. He even sought support and suggestions from the parents to provide best education and growth opportunities to the children of the school, and shared few tips on good parenting. Moving further, he also spoke in detail about different ways of nurturing a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future. The parents were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school. Later, respective teachers gave an overview of the var- ious subjects and the activities which would be undertaken in the year ahead. Not to forget, the co-scholastic activities were also discussed that gave the parents an idea of the curriculum which is self-directed with hands-on learning activities that not only give our students a medium to fully utilize their creative talents and energies, but also help them in their all-round devel- opment. The orientation program proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suit- able follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children. PEARLS PUTTING THEIR BEST FOOT FORWARD!! We have learned that there is no challenge too great if we work together. The fact that we are starting the new school year en- tirely in person is an important new phase in our battle against the coronavirus. After several days of empty classrooms, it was a delight to welcome all of our students back into our school. The extensive preparation and planning put into making school re-entry safe, and welcoming is a testament to all Bhavans Pearl Wisdom staff’s care and commitment. Despite the masks, co- horts, handwashing, directional flow in hallways, and physical distancing, this seems to have been a success. It was pretty re- markable to see shining eyes peeking over the tops of the masks as students arrived ready for the new school year today. Thank you to all parents and guardians for helping to prepare your children for the first day of school, as this had a huge impact on helping to make the first day successful. As we prepare to welcome kids back to class, our school was ready to provide the extra academic and mental health support stu- dents would need. We were also ready to bring back treasured traditions of school life that were delayed by the pandemic. After the vacation, Bhavans Pearl had decided on a reopening from April 11, 2022. World Circus day A circus is a form of entertainment that fea- tures many different spectacular acts. Circus can inspire you to learn, grow, have more dis- cipline, build strength, and coordination, create an entire routine by yourself and open your life in ways you never thought possible. Keeping this in mind, World circus day was celebrated in KG on 20th April 2022. Students spend their time learning various important fun facts about the circus. They also performed a clown-mask making activity. It was a day filled with fun and enthusiasm. They were excited about the opportunity to visit a real circus with their family and friends. Report by Kayenat Ansari Ramadan celebration The end of Ramadan is a big celebration called ‘Eid al- Fitr‘which means “The Festival of the Breaking of the Fast. “ The festival is celebrated all over the world with Joy and Happi- ness. Our tiny tots of BPWS celebrated the Eid festival on 29th April 2022 with great enthusiasm .Students were shown a small video presentation on Eid for them to know the importance of this fes- tival. Our creative tiny tots made beautiful Eid Lanterns for their parents to wish them “Eid Mubarak”, with help of the teachers. Before leaving for the Eid holidays our tiny tots joined hands for one Billion Meals Charity Mission 2022 and they enjoyed the day with full festival mode. Being safe is the first and foremost thing for all of us. . (World Safety Day) The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an annual international campaign to promote safe, healthy and decent work. It is held on 28 April and has been observed by the International Labor Organization (ILO) since 2003. Our tiny tots of BPWS celebrated the World Safety and Health Day. On this occasion BPWS took an initiative to make chil- dren aware of their personal safety by various activities. Our Physical Education Teachers came to each class and instructed children about safety measures and showed them poster and spoke about safety cautions they need to keep in mind. Children enjoyed the session and learnt from the same, they were very keen and excited to learn about safety which was very new thing for them. SAFETY—Our Priority (World Safety Day) The annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28th April promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases glob- ally. The World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022 focuses on enhancing social dialogue towards a culture of safety and health. It is also a day to remember those that have died from a work-relat- ed injury or illness. By raising awareness of work health and safety (WHS) issues and taking action to eliminate or minimize health and safety risks at work, we can help prevent further work-related fatali- ties and injuries. In Bhavans Pearl Wisdom school, as a part of World safety day, we conducted various class-wise activities to inculcate the importance of this day in our children. From Grade 1 to 4, the students dressed like community workers, and they hsafeld ety measures in their hands. From Grade 5 to 9, students prepared PowerPoint Presentations and the class teachers added some more points and concluded the activity.. Moreover, the school nurse took an awareness class for the students. All the programs helped the students to understand the importance of safety. Report by Divya.P.Mathew Let’s save the EARTH together (World Earth Day) The whole world celebrates Earth Day on 22nd April. Earth Day allows for a day of education about environ- mental issues affecting our planet every year. The present generation needs to be aware of the damage that has been caused by our activities and it is the high time to start un- derstanding the consequences of the same on the Mother Earth. Bhavans Pearl Wisdom celebrated the Earth Day by conducting various activities for students. The stu- dents of Grade 8-10 held a campaign across all the grades on how to save our environment by simple acts. The Students from Grade 1-7 made posters to show their love and concern for Mother Earth. All the stu- dents took part in these activities showing great in- terest. These activities gave them awareness about the importance and value the planet we live in.It also helped us to inculcate the need for protecting our planet.
