Onam Celebration at Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain Mahabali bringing Happiness and Prosperity!! Onam is a harvesting festival celebrated by the Keralites all over the world with great enthusiasm. It gives the message of unity among the people since it is celebrated irrespective of religion. The festival is celebrated to commemorate King Mahabali, whose spirit is said to visit Kerala at the time of Onam. We at BBPWS organised “ONAM CELEBRATION with great pomp and piety. The entire event was held online through thevirtual platform ‘BBPWS Virtual Auditorium’ in Microsoft Teams. All the students and parents joined with teachers for the grand celebration. Various cultural programs were arranged such as solo song, solo dance, folk song, speech etc. from students as well as teachers. Principal Dr. K.T Nandakumar addressed the gathering and wished Happy Onam to all the family members of Bhavans Pearl Wisdom, Al Ain. ‘RAAGANATYAMRITAM Vijayadashami also known as Dussehra, is one of the most significant Hindu festivals that marks the end of the nine-day long Navratri celebrations. Vijayadashami marks triumph of Goddess Durga over the buffalo Demon Mahishasura. Vijayadashami is celebrated as victory of Lord Rama over Demon Ravana. Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain conducted the Vijayadashmi celebrations in the BBPWS virtual auditorium under the title ‘Raaganatyamritam’. All the students, teachers and most of the parents of BBPWS joined the celebrations. The programme started with the UAE National Anthem followed by the Indian National Anthem, school prayer and Bhavans Anthem. The honorable Principal Dr. K T Nandakumar addressed the gathering and conveyed his greetings on this auspicious day. Various cultural programmes were staged online which included solo dances, solo songs, video presentation etc. The entire event lasted for almost an hour and it was a grand celebration. Children’s Day It’s Cool to be a KID!!!! Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School Al Ain celebrated Children’s Day, with great festive fervour, to commemorate the 127thbirth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. As Children’s day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, who was extremely fond of children, the programme clearly depicted the spirit of the occasion. The children’s day programme had a series of interesting and exciting events, all planned meticulously for complete entertainment. The programme began with a special assembly conducted by the teachers, followed by an informative and inspirational speech by our Principal Dr K T Nandakumar about the great leader, thinker, visionary and a true statesman – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The teaching faculty presented various programmes which left a lasting impact on the students. To make the day more memorable and entertaining, a variety of cultural events ranging from songs, dance and speech were presented. DYUTI Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated by Indians all over the world. Diwali symbolizes the spiritual \"victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance\" The festival is widely associated with Lakshmi, goddess of prosperity, with many other regional traditions. Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25th as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. Christmas Day is celebrated religiously by a majority of Christians, as well as culturally by many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season centred on it. Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain celebrated both the festivals together this year, through the BBPWS Virtual Auditorium. The program began with the UAE National Anthem followed by Indian National Anthem, Quran recitation, school prayer and Bhavans Anthem. The Principal and the Director addressed the gathering on the special occasion. There were many cultural programmes which included solo songs, solo dances, group dances, Christmas Carols etc. The teachers, students and the parents joined the celebrations with great enthusiasm, and it proved as Bhavans platform for secularism and unity. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a celebratory day observed on 9th January by the Republic of India to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community towards the development of India. The day commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to Mumbai on 9th January 1915. Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School, Al Ain too celebrated the PRAVASI BHARATIYA DIWAS. Mr. Mubarak Musthafa, President, ISC, Al Ain was the Chief Guest. A zoom meeting was organised, in which all the students, parents, staff members including the Director Ms. Divya Rajesh Ramachandran and Principal Dr K T Nandakumar joined. The meeting started with the verses from holy Quran, followed by the UAE National Anthem, Indian National Anthem, school prayer and Bhavans Anthem. Then the welcome address was delivered in which the Chief Guest was also introduced, the Principal addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of the Day. Ms. Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, Director, Bhavans Middle East also addressed the gathering with special emphasis on the contributions of the NRIs towards the progress of the nation. Then the Chief Guest was honoured online with a digital memento. The Chief Guest also addressed the gathering and encouraged the students with very valuable words. There were solo dance performances by the students to entertain the audience. The session which lasted for an hour was concluded with the Vote of Thanks. HUES 4th Edition 51
Gandhi Jayanti Celebration at Pearl Wisdom School, Dubai A special assembly to commemorate Mahatma’s life and teachings. Clad in white, singing bhajans with exuberance and embracing the moral gestures taught by Gandhiji, with the ubiquitous three monkeys: see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil, Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated in the school premises with great zeal. Children were engaged in an array of activities from colouring, captioning the pictures, declamation, Gandhiji - To you from me, to Quizzing. Pearls also took up home cleanliness activities upholding the motto ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’. HUES 4th Edition 552
Universal Children’s Day “There is no garden as beautiful as childhood”. A day marking childhood was celebrated with fun and frolic at Pearl Wisdom School, Dubai. It all began with a special school assembly presented by the teacher students. The corridors shimmered in bright displays welcoming the children coming to school. The pedagogues then engaged in a display of entertaining power packed performances for their beloved students demonstrating their love and affection. The icing on the cake was the fantabulous dance performance. The children rolled in laughter when the teachers took to enact a language class. They were engaged ion a plethora of activities and fun games. They sang, they talked, they danced and took away the token of love and wonderful memories of a day devoted to them. HUES 4th Edition 53
Virtual Sportathon The traditional school sports day has been one of the casualties hit by the pandemic. Pearl Wisdom School ensured, within our limitations, that our lovely kids did not miss out on the sense of fun they get from school sports day. Keeping this in view, The school hosted its very first Virtual Sports Meet. Mr. N.K Ramachandran Menon, Chairman, Bhavans Middle East, Mr. Sooraj Ramachandran, Vice Chairman Bhavans Middle East and Mrs., Divya Rajesh, Director Bhavans Middle East addressed the students. It was a day filled with fervor and excitement, experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. Children engaged in multifarious events both online and offline. From tissue box jumps, walk-relay races, balancing the box and long jumps, to balloon-burst bonanza and leg balancing, they had it all. Dressed in the colors representing their houses, the coaches were all set to mark the onset of the competition and uplift the spirit of their teams. Kindergarten too, was very active when it came to participation in events. An energizing display of the gross motor skills of our tiny tots set the tone right. Their Zumba dance performance mesmerized the audience. They competed in events including balance challenge, bottle flip, lemon and spoon race, skipping race, shuttle race, tunnel race, throw clap, and catch race. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the students of Kindergarten by their classmates and parents too. The sports day activities were organized following all protocols. All the students participated with great ardor and manifested their athletic skills with an unimpeachable finesse. UAE National Day The 49th UAE National day was celebrated at Pearl Wisdom School with the school premises glittering in UAE tricolour from the entrance till the exit. The day was made memorable with a variety of fun filled and meaningful contests and activities. The special assembly comprised elocution contest, Emirati dance, and Arabic song. The four House Captains vociferously spoke about the ‘The importance of the National Day celebration’ engaging in a nail biting elocution contest. The Face-to-Face students were engaged in a Portrait Contest of H.H Sheikh Zayed . They also enjoyed Walk the UAE ramp, and soft board contest, all based on the theme, ‘My UAE.’ The online students were engaged in activities like: Salad making competition, Walk the UAE ramp and Handprint painting based on the theme UAE. Republic Day Celebration The 72nd Republic Day of Inida was celebrated in all its solemnity and with great patriotic fervor on January 26, 2021, at Pearl Wisdom School, Dubai. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood. The assembly began with the significance of the celebration, with the vision to make children aware that the future of their country lies in their hands. The school echoed with patriotic fervour as children wore tri-coloured clothes to mark the occasion. The host of tri colour activities made the day lively. Children participated in an innovative Digital poster making competition on the theme ‘India of my Dreams’. The millennials reveled in enthusiasm and demonstrated their knowledge of the digital era. A National Anthem Contest was organized, and children took part in it with zest and zeal. They sang with great fervor and passion reverberating the spirit of patriotism and respect for their motherland. In the exciting ‘The Architect of India’ contest children unleashed their creative skills by making Indian monuments of their choice.
