“COVID19 has ushered in a time of change and forced exemplary shifts in many areas of life. It has forced us to change around the traditional methods of teaching and has been successful in bringing vast change in the system of education.” We are all aware that School closures due to the pandemic, has handicapped the students life all over the world. Not just academics but also their mental, physical and emotional well-being has been hugely affected. In response to the present situation, educators have - . .Brni Rekha N been instrumental in switching over to the completely new platform of Virtual teaching to enable continuity of learning. The video conferencing tool has been a boon through which teachers have been able to meet students regularly which has helped in keeping the teacher-student relationship intact. Moreover this has also made parent-teacher-student collaboration positive and transparent. By the introduction of Virtual schooling we have stepped on to a new trend of the blended learning model which is gaining popularity. We have to acknowledge that virtual school is not just about taking a lesson through a video conferencing tool; it involves a modular shift in pedagogy. The balance of online and offline tasks is a critical aspect to consider while designing the timetable and lesson plan. Huge efforts have been put by the management and staff to enable this complete shift in the system work successfully at the School level. Even before training the students, we have trained ourselves to provide a smooth and error free experience of learning to the students. This model has helped learning to continue beyond the four walls of the classroom, allowing students’ choice and flexibility to learn at their pace, creating more opportunities for collaborative tasks along with providing opportunities to rethink the mode of assessments & feedback. Virtual education has opened up possibilities of rethinking the methods of teaching & learning. We also need to acknowledge that the transition to virtual learning can be challenging for all stakeholders. Parents will have to think differently about how to equip their children in the virtual learning space; how to create structures and routines that allow their children to be successful; and how to support their learning journey while considering the emotional well-being as well. Schools like hospitals are caregivers and we, as a school will fall back on the school framework of Relevance, Relationship and Rigour to support parents in this process of creating meaningful engagement with their children. I think all educators need a pat on their back for their immense efforts and passion towards providing education even during times of such pandemic and at the cost of their own health. As everyone we too are going through the adversities but at the same time are being positive in serving the generation ahead by always being there with them. Your support and co-operation will be much appreciated.
Aum Namah Shivaya Jeettika Unnithan Dear Readers, A school magazine is an integral part of any educational organization that brings forth creativity, talents and contributions of every student. It offers a befitting space not only for students, but also teachers to develop their own power of expression and critical thinking. On 20th March 2020, when all schools and colleges pan India were closed after a lot of apprehensions, we were clueless about the 'New Normal'. As virtual classes were introduced, everyone including our newly admitted little tots assented to the change almost immediately. It gives me immense pleasure to showcase various activities conducted online throughout the year via this E-Magazine Amritanidhi. Amma quotes that our attitude towards life should be like a child who is endowed with tremendous humility, patience and faith. In such manner, we can keep on learning. And that's exactly we Amritians followed. We should have the ability to accept and adapt everything that comes our way. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our Principal Brni.Rekha who gave me an opportunity to paint the canvas with my creativity. The compilation of this wonderful e-magazine has been successful by her valuable guidance and instant support. Her innovative ideas and the ability to see the unseen has always boosted me to design the best as per the situation. I would like to sincerely thank all the teachers who supported with every initiative and provided the best to all the students. The overwhelming response of the students along with their parents grew stronger with every activity throughout the year. Amidst the current pandemic situation, the only thing that enlivens us is the optimistic HOPE, which is the true essence of life. With the hope and anticipation to see all our young Champs back in school soon, I send across positivity and strength to each one of you. Enjoy every moment in life, because time only knows to move ahead. Until then, STAY HOME, STAY SAFE. I am sure reading the same shall leave you nostalgic.

TEACHERS GO TECHIE Dr. Neetu Vijayvergiya The year 2020 has been very challenging to human race due to the ongoing pandemic. But it has given us enormous opportunities also to survive and thrive in tough times. We as a country has not only taken this challenge on face but have come out stronger on many fronts one such is developing robust infrastructure for online education system. Though a lot was happening in developing online education system in the country before the pandemic, the onset of pandemic made us realize its true value and benefits. Due to our existing infrastructure and our thrust on going digital, we were quickly able to shift to imparting online education to students which was unthinkable a few years back. The most important and early advantage of online education system was that students were not deprived of education for a long and unknown time. With quick innovations and improvisation by many agencies together, including government and private institutes, we have seen a lot many options available to increase the number of students to get online education, along with developing various tools for teachers and students to become part of online education. Online education was made possible very quickly for primary level students to college goers and it reach was also enhanced. With basic thing in place, the concerned agencies then moved to enhance the quality and contents of online education. Online education allows more transparent and elaborate way of teaching. Mrs.Sangeetha Anil Online teaching is defined as any educational activity that requires a student to complete some learning or assessment activity via a personal computer and a connection to a network. Another benefit arising from this is that students are able to study where they want to study there is no need to make their way to a campus. Also students are able to access their lessons more than once. While a lecture is given once, online materials can be accessed at any time.
Mrs. Sayantani GuhaRoy Efficiency - Online learning offers teachers an efficient way to deliver lessons to students. Online learning has a number of tools such as videos, PDFs, podcasts, and teachers can use all these tools as part of their lesson plans. By extending the lesson plan beyond traditional textbooks to include online resources, teachers are able to become more efficient educators.2.Accessibility Of Time And Place. Another advantage of online education is that it allows students to attend classes from any location of their choice. It also allows schools to reach out to a more extensive network of students, instead of being restricted by geographical boundaries. Additionally, online lectures can be recorded, archived, and shared for future reference. This allows students to access the learning material at a time of their comfort. Thus, online learning offers students the accessibility of time and place in education.3.Affordability- Another advantage of online learning is reduced financial costs. Online education is far more affordable as compared to physical learning. This is because online learning eliminates the cost points of student transportation, student meals, and most importantly, real estate. Additionally, all the course or study materials are available online, thus creating a paperless learning environment which is more affordable, while also being beneficial to the environment.4.Improved Student Attendance. Mrs. Sushma Naidu With schools closed due to Pandemic, the government has been encouraging online education to achieve academic continuity. Most high-end institutions have made the switch smoothly using online platforms such as Microsoft teams, zoom, google classrooms etc., while many still find it a herculean task. The challenges of online education are multifaceted. It is time that we understand the realms of online education. But the moment online education moves from an optional to the only form of learning, and that too long term, the bad and the ugly slowly become evident. India is beginning to get a taste of this now. Using the internet for entertainment is common, but for online lessons is a big challenge. Teachers may not be well-versed with creating digital content, and conveying it effectively online. A sudden expectation from them to upgrade, and from students to adapt, is unfair but it made both the student and teacher technological savvy at the same time, as someone rightly quoted - Necessity is the mother of invention. However, Body language and eye contact, which are important cues for the teacher and are difficult to perceive in an online class. To Enhance The Learning Process In Online Education: 1.Courses Empowered With Videos. 2. Embrace The Power Of Communication 3. Use IT Tools, Apps& Resources. 4. Collaborative Learning 5. Implement Virtual Reality (VR) 6. Guide Teacher Performance. Every innovative approach comes with a price. It's challenging to put them in action !

Mrs. Reshma Nair The year 2020 was a daunting phase for all, bringing about a substantial change in the very way we lived. It did prove that behind ever challenging door, lay spaces of opportunities. A whole new realm of virtual life beamed up. E-Learning became the new mantra for educators and students. As classrooms were replaced with the virtual ones, the students and teachers braced themselves to face the E-World stoically, thus ensuring continuity of learning. Learning became fun with gamefied visuals, interactive assignments and vibrant presentations. It eliminated the barriers of distance with several attending lectures from their home towns. For the shy and reserved, chat box came to the rescue as queries were posted without hesitation. Although online education cannot replace a classroom education, it has proved to be an effective supplement to those who crave for knowledge. E-Learning, despite its ingenuity does have its share of limitations, like social isolation, lack of connectivity and the urge to be dishonest during assessments. Nevertheless, online education is a warehouse of potential future and is here to stay. On a lasting note it was commendable to witness- the efforts of the parents who did their utmost to facilitate learning at home, the teachers who embraced the digitised world with a smile and lastly the students who coped with the transition responsibly.
Mrs. Bavina V Marchande In E-learning, the students study from home or any other place, that is most convenient for them. They can acquire learning material online. The study materials in online education could be texts, audio, notes, videos, and images. Mrs. Aruna A Poojary Online learning is one of the imminent trends in the education sector around the globe. This mode of learning is done through the internet. With advanced and upgraded technologies, this mode of learning has been made simpler. Online Education is also preferred in higher learning Institutions. OUR MISSION Our mission is to provide value-based education and mould the character of the younger generation through a system of wholesome learning, so that the earnest endeavour to achieve progress and prosperity in life is matched by an ardent desire to extend selfless service to society, one complementing the other. OUR VISION The philosophy of the Amrita Vidyalayam schools is based on contemporary practices of education blended with the ancient gurukula method of teaching. This approach values individual learning styles and positive reinforcement while promoting understanding and creativity. “Children, pray for the good of everyone. We should pray to God to give a good mind even to those who harm us. A kind word, a compassionate glance, a small favor all these can bring light into their lives and into ours as well. It is not what we received, but what we were able to give, that determines the value of our life. Likewise, when we pray for the well-being of others, it is we who gain peace and quietude. If we have been able to bring happiness to a soul even for a minute, it is a great achievement in itself. ”Children, the mantra 'Loka samasta sukhino bhavantu' should be chanted at least once daily.” AMRITA VIDYALAYAM PLOT No. : 4, SEC- 25, JUINAGAR, NAVI MUMBAI , MAHARASHTRA 400705
