KINDERGARTEN 1.HOLI - SPLASHING COLOURS ALL AROUND 2. MAKING MEMORIES AND HAVING FUN 3. “GRADUATION IS A SUCCESSFUL ENDING AND AN EXCITING BEGINNING.”

“A day full of colours! A day full of excitement! A day full of wishes! Yes, it’s Holi! A day to rejoice and love! Happy Holi!” Holi, the festival of colours is one of the most important festivals of India and is celebrated with great pomp and fervour. The dominant idea behind Holi is to spread the message of harmony. Children splurged the colours of love, prosperity and harmony on a white shirt and spread the colour of joy and laughter all over. The gleam in their eyes was evident as they shared their tale of happiness.



A Term Party was organised for the young learners to celebrate the end of a wonderful and exciting year. The pupils enjoyed the day with lot of fun and happy moments to cherish. Painting, dancing, and games alongwith music created a great party atmosphere on the virtual platform. Students made beautiful handmade pencil boxes to mark their learning during the year. They bid adieu to their teachers with teary eyes.



Kindergarten Graduation is an exciting milestone for Pre-Primary children as it’s their first step towards a future which is full of hopes and possibilities. It marks a new beginning that adds new dimensions to their school life and the journey they begin towards knowledge and education. Kindergarten Graduation Day was celebrated virtually with great pomp and show at BIS on 18th March,2022. The Chief Guest Ms. Sara Ebrahim Al Derazi, Education Specialist, Directorate of Licensing and Follow up of Private Schools, Ministry of Education was welcomed by the Principal – Mr Saji Jacob. The ceremony began with the blessings of Almighty followed by the cultural extravaganza. The celebration witnessed not only joy and pride but also it brought forth the love and affection of students towards the teachers and the family members. The children spoke about their journey, learning and overall experience in kindergarten which made everyone relive the old memories, thereby equally making everyone nostalgic. An interactive day was also organized wherein parents along with their children had come for the photo shoot. Also they met their teachers. The students were further felicitated with the Graduation certificates. The ceremony ended with vote of thanks by the Kindergarten Coordinator Ms. Sharil Dimri to the parents and BIS fraternity. BIS Management applauded the students’ efforts and thanked parents for their constant support

“Chess is the gymnasium of the mind.” – Blaise Pascal Each chess tournament is a celebration of learning where it helps to raise a generation of children with superpowers of critical thinking, confidence and resilience. The competition- Bahrain Schools Chess Championship for the year 2021-2022 was organized on 3rd March,2022 by the Department of Physical Education under the generous sponsorship of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Ahmed, Director General of Schools Affairs. The proud winners of BIS are Pranav Bobby Sekhar of Grade VIII - Gold medal in Boys middle category, Suyash Sunil Bayalan of grade IV - Silver medal in Boys primary category and Priyashruthi Srinivasan of Grade X - Silver medal in senior secondary category.The school management applauded the efforts of the winners.

\"A mind troubled by doubt cannot focus on the course to victory.\" -Arthur Golden It has been rightly stated, parents and teachers are indispensable for supporting a child in the most crucial and life-changing years of school. A Counseling and Career Guidance workshop was organized on 9th March, 2022 at Bahrain Indian School for the students of Grade IX. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Preet Praveen, Counselor (ICRF Life). It was effective in providing the students with information to help them accomplish their career goals. Ms. Praveen further quoted, \"It's not what you achieve, it's what you overcome that's what defines your career“. The session was an extremely enriching experience and students wish to be a part of such workshops in the future as well. The session was also attended by Dr. Babu Ramachandran, and Mr. Aruldas Thomas and Mr. Pankaj Nallur representing Indian Community Relief Fund. The ICRF officials appreciated the initiatives taken by Bahrain Indian School. The school management expressed their gratitude to the speaker.

‘An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.’ – Benjamin Franklin Education is a continuous process. It is not only learning of facts but also learning of skills which is important to succeed in life. Keeping this in mind, BIS organized Parents Orientation Program on 12th March, 2022 for Grades X and XII. Principal Mr. Saji Jacob, addressed the gathering by saying it’s of utmost importance that one must understand how to prepare for these classes. It was further enunciated by HOD Mathematics -Ms. Sudha Anand, who also shared the CBSE assessment policy and the new pattern of examination. Ms Ginitha Satish, HOD Social Science, emphasized how students should prepare for examinations and deal with stress. A vote of thanks concluded the informative session.

“Success in management requires learning as fast as the world is changing.” – Warren Bennis The practices around teaching and learning continue to evolve at a fast pace, driven by technology and the ever-changing needs of our students. A workshop titled ‘New Generation , New Norms’ was held on 14th March,2022 for BIS Teachers’. The speaker of the day was Ms. Ramanpreet Praveen – an ICRF member. Further, Dr Babu- Chairman ICRF addressed the audience and spoke about the pandemic and current situations. Ms. Praveen’s talk focused on the impact of COVID and online education on students. The speaker also provided ways of dealing with changing student behavior. In addition, she mentioned that students are detached, shallow, and they have access to inappropriate content as well as cyber bullying. She pointed out that children must be handled differently by parents. Students need teamwork to live a peaceful life and have a successful career, she said. Respecting students' privacy, teachers are able to observe them and understand what motivates them. We must adapt our approaches to match their capabilities. In order to achieve excellence, technology, parents, and students need to work together. The Principal expressed gratitude and appreciated the speaker for presenting a valuable session.

Willing is not enough we must do.” – Goethe A workshop titled ‘Two Pieces of Paper – Mark sheet or Currency Note’ was organized for the students of Grade X and XII on 14th March, 2022 The session began with an informal sharing of the students’ experiences about their future goals by a psychologist and an ICRF member, Mrs. Ramanpreet Praveen. She presented a thought provoking session wherein some prominent questions were raised by her, “Why do you want to get good marks?”, “Why do you want to earn money?” While sharing valuable insights, she asked students whether money guarantees a happy life or if marks determine a successful career.” Further, she encouraged students to work diligently towards their goals. BIS Management praised and thanked the speaker for an insightful presentation.

‘The power of concentration is the only key to the treasure-house of knowledge.’ - Swami Vivekananda There is no doubt that education is the secret key to human success and the roots of education lie in competition. Bahrain Indian School conducted the TIMSS exam - an International Assessment, on 15th March, 2022 that tracks trends in student achievement in Mathematics and Science as part of its regular TIMSS tests. These tests help students prepare for future competitive exams.

‘To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.’ – Winston Churchill. Bahrain Indian School celebrated its 8th Annual Day on 24th March, 2022. His Excellency Mr. Piyush Srivastava, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The function was also graced by Mr.Ravi Kumar Jain, Second Secretary, Embassy of India, Mr. Jayapraksh Elango, Chairman, Institute of Engineers, Bahrain Chapter and Mr. Gopinathan Nair, Principal, New Indian School. The special day was woven around the theme ‘PRIVARTAN’. It was an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast and festivity when students presented their wonderful performances live on the stage. Principal Mr. Saji Jacob extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and presented the Annual Report which highlighted the excellent performance of the students in academics as well as extra – curricular activities. The spectators enjoyed a wide range of entertainment at the ceremony, including a welcome song, an invocation dance, Arabic dance, mime, dance dramas, and fusion dance, as well as melodious choir performances and upbeat band performances. The Ambassador along with the school management released the school's Annual Magazine ‘Bhavanubhav’ and also congratulated the school's management, faculty, and students for their extraordinary achievements. As the event came to a close, the school Management extended their gratitude to the Chief Guest and each and every one who made the function a grand success. The event concluded with the grand finale. The auditorium echoed with loud cheers and claps as parents and other distinguished visitors admired the performances put up by the students.







‘Learning is a treasure that follows its owner everywhere…’ On 26th March 2022, an Orientation Programme for the new students was organized at BIS, with the purpose of getting maximum involvement of parents in molding their children towards a successful future. The orientation programme commenced with an address by the Principal, Mr. Saji Jacob. Parents were briefed on Bhavans' rules, regulations and policies. In addition, parents were also given information about the curriculum, co- curricular activities, the examination pattern, Digital Campus (LMS) and hybrid classes. Later, the class teachers addressed the concerns of parents and assured them of the all- round development of their ward. At the end of the session, the Principal Mr. Saji Jacob thanked the parents for their involvement.



‘No competition, no progress.’ – Bela Karolyi The Science Fiesta 2022 has awarded the winners from BIS for Sastra Pratibha Contest and BSIC. The winners have taken home medals and certificates, awarded to them on 27th March, 2022. Mr. Piyush Srivastava, Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, graced the occasion with his benign presence. Shaun Prabhu of Grade VIII, Pritha Singh of Grade VII, Lavanya Agarwal of Grade V were honored with certificates and medals. The school management has congratulated and commended the winners.

From the Editor’s Desk Dear Parents, The month of March has brought with it the season of spring which spreads exuberance and excitement all around with new beginnings in the offing. It also brings memories of the year gone by, a year that has been an extremely enriching experience for all of us on this online learning platform. We were happy to be safe at home while the process of learning went on. This being the last month of the session, children are really excited and geared up to take a step ahead and go on to the next class. We are looking forward to the day when all our youngsters join us On Campus. How mesmerizing it would be to see our youngsters reading and repeating their lessons in unison!
