PURASKAR SANDHYA - 2023 “Be it jewel or toy , not the prize gives the joy,but the striving to win the prize” The starting point of all achievement is desire. If one has the desire to succeed, one surely will. With this in mind and to boost the morale of the students, Bhavans Pearl , Al Ain held its Merit Evening on Saturday, 20th May 2023 , at the Zayed Central Library Auditorium. We were honoured to have Mr. Tamer Mahmoud Elaraby, Principal of Alia International School - Al Ain, as our esteemed Chief Guest for this special occasion. The event commenced at 4:30 pm with the UAE National Anthem, followed by verses from the Holy Quran and the School Prayer Song. The students proudly presented the Bhavans Anthem, setting a spirited atmosphere for the ceremony. Symbolizing the beginning of the ceremony, the Lighting of the Lamp was conducted, signifying the dispelling of darkness and the acquisition of knowledge. This was followed by a captivating group song performed by our talented students. Adding a touch of grace and elegance, a Welcome Dance was presented, showcasing the artis- tic abilities of our students.We were delighted to have our respected Principal, Dr K T Nandakumar addressed the audience, sharing valuable insights and highlighting the accomplishments of our students throughout the aca- demic year. Finally, the moment everyone had been eagerly waiting for arrived as Mr. Tamer Mahmoud Elaraby, our Chief Guest, took the stage to deliver an inspiring speech. It was indeed a proud moment not only for the re- cipients of the awards but also for their parents who had been invited to partake in the glory of their child(ren)’s success. INVESTITURE CEREMONY “Empowerment is not just giving titles; it’s about conferring responsibilities.” The BPWS student councils for the academic year 2023-2024 took oath at the Investiture ceremony in the Zayed Central Library Auditorium on 20th May 2023.The ceremony is not just an event, it is a testament to our school’s unwavering commitment to nurture extraordinary individuals who can make a lasting pos- itive impact on society.The ceremony was held with zeal and enthusiasm. It commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp.The elected council members introduced themselves and they were conferred with badges and sashes by the Honorary Chief Guest Mr. Tamer Mahmoud Elaraby. The student council members took the pledge to hold the school motto in high esteem. Our respected prin- cipal Dr K.T Nandakumar congratulated them and addressed them to be impartial and honest in leader- ship, unity, discipline and morality. ELECTION CAMPAIGN Voices Ignite, Future Unite The Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School held its School Parliament Election on May 1, 2023. Students from Grades 1 to 10 participated in this democratic event organized by the Departments of Social Science and Computer Science. Out of the many candidates, 42 were chosen to compete for ten positions in the School Parliament. During the three-day campaign, these candidates delivered persuasive speeches to the school as- sembly, promising positive change if elected. Students from Grades 1 to 10 took part in the election. The Principal revealed the winners at the school assembly: Manuel Manoj as the School Head Boy and Aleena Nazeer as the School Head Girl. Laughter day celebration “Laughing Out Loud: A Kaleidoscope of Joyful Moments!” Our young gems commemorated the Day of Laughter on May 5th, 2023. The adorable children arrived in vibrant and amusing outfits. They engaged in various activities, such as playing with smiley-faced cards. This occasion aimed to inspire children to discover happiness and humour in their daily lives, thereby enhancing their general well-being and perspective on the world. Hilarious cartoons, like Tom and Jerry, were also screened for the kids, causing them to burst into laugh- ter. The entire day was brimming with sheer delight. International Nurses day Celebration “Tiny Nurses, Big Hearts: The Pearls Salute Unsung Heroes in a Day of Gratitude!” The pearls paid homage to the hard work of unseen heroes and aimed to raise awareness among the young- er generation on May 12th, 2023. Dressed as nurses, our adorable little ones celebrated this special day. A classroom clinic was set up, where the children enthusiastically took on the roles of nurses. As part of the event, a nurse parent was invited to enlighten the kids about the vital role nurses play in our lives. “Little Pearls Set the Tone in Red” Mother’s Day Mother’s Dayay) The little pearls celebrated the significance “Love Blossoms: The Pearls Celebrate Mother’s day of mothers with great enthusiasm and joy with Heart-warming Creativity!” on May 14th, 2023. The teacher made heartfelt efforts to convey the importance of mothers in a child’s life through engaging presentations and moral stories. The chil- dren showcased their creativity by crafting special and unique cards to bring smiles to their mothers’ faces. Bedecked in colourful attire of their choosing, the classroom radi- ated warmth and happiness. In the bulletin board proudly displayed these beautiful cards, creating a visually captivating tribute to all the mothers. “Tiny Guardians of the Earth: Pre-KG Pearls Plant Seeds of Change!” On June 5th, 2023, the Pre-KG students joyfully celebrated World Environment Day. The main objective was to promote ecosystem restoration through simple yet impactful actions such as tree planting and greening cities. The little ones en- thusiastically participated in the event, displaying their eagerness to learn about germination by bringing small pots and seeds. The teacher enlightened them about the vital importance of trees in our environment. Adding to the eco-friend- ly spirit, all the children arrived dressed in vibrant green attire, symbolizing their commitment to environmental conservation. International Father’s Day “Dad, Our Superhero: Little Bees Soar with Love on Father’s Day!” On June 20th, 2023, the little bees of Pre-KG enthusiastically celebrated Father’s Day. They joyfully engaged in creating cards and craftworks to honour their beloved superheroes, their fathers. To make the occasion even more special, the children dressed up as their fathers, embracing the opportunity to show their love, admiration, and gratitude to these exceptional individuals in their lives. It was a heart-warming day filled with expressions of love and appreciation for the special person known as Dad. The chil- dren actively engaged in activities that fostered their language development and early literacy skills, all while embracing movement through singing, dancing, and immersing themselves in music. They exuded the spirit of rock stars by dressing up in vibrant costumes. Guided by their dedicated teacher, they embarked on a delightful journey of learning a song together. International Yoga Day “Little Yogis, Radiant Souls: Pre-KG Munch- kins Embrace the Joy of Yoga!” The little munchkins of Pre-KG celebrated the gift of Yoga on June 21, 2023, with tremendous fervour and enthusiasm. A delightful interactive yoga session, tailored specifically for children, left them feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. Dressed in white attire, the kids engaged in vari- ous yoga poses and breathing exercises, aiming to cultivate strength, balance, and inner calm. Observed on various dates worldwide, this day holds significance in March or May, and is celebrated by family members, particularly sons and daughters. Mother’s Day transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries, with different sayings and customs associated with the occasion. Our Kindergarten students celebrated Mother’s Day on March 15, 2023, hosting a tea party where mothers engaged in fun activities like necklace-making with straw pieces. The event included games like blindfold identification and joyful dances between mothers and their children, creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for all. International Family Day ““Uniting Hearts through Art: Celebrating International Family Day with Colourful Creations!”” Family Day is a highly significant occasion that unites families, strengthens bonds, and celebrates the essence of familial rela tionships. It offers a precious opportunity for families to spend quality time togeth- er, fostering deeper connections and creating lasting memories.International Family Day was joyfully celebrated on May 16th at Bhavans Kindergarten. Parents and students came together to commemorate this special day by engaging in an artist ic activity of hand-painting on T-shirts. The children’s happiness and enthusiasm, along with the parents’ dedicated efforts, made it a memorable experience. CCoololouurrswweeekek “Where Education Meets Fun!” In the pursuit of fostering knowledge and under- standing, the significance of colours cannot be overlooked in a child's development. Colours leave a lasting impression on a child's psychology, influ- encing their mood, behaviour, and overall well-be- ing. Recognizing this, our Kindergarten organized a delightful \"Colour Week\" from May 22nd to May 26th. During this engaging week, students eagerly dressed up in vibrant colours corresponding to each day. They delved into the world of fruits, veg- etables, and objects associated with different hues, expanding their vocabulary and understanding. The children enthusiastically participated in a va- riety of activities, including creating heart crowns, painting green bags, crafting paper ducks, painting dolphins, and constructing moon and star artworks. The \"Colour Week\" proved to be a beautiful and enjoyable experience, offering a perfect blend of learning and fun for every student involved. World Environment Day “Let’s Nurture the Nature so that we can have a better Future.” World Environment Day is observed on 5th June every year, to build awareness to save life on planet Earth. We at BPWS Kindergarten observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2023. Students of kindergarten came in green colour attire and enjoyed making a 2D model of Earth using bottle caps. The activity motivated and encouraged the students to do more such crafts using bottle caps which will avoid polluting the Earth. It was a wonderful learning experience for all the students. It also gave them a new outlook on the planet Earth. Report by: Divya Ganesan International Father’s Day “Celebrating Fatherhood: Honoring the Pillars of Strength and Love” Father’s Day provides an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the significant role fathers play in our lives. It is a day to express gratitude for their love, guidance, support, and sacrifices. BPWS organized a special celebration for Father’s Day on June 20, 2023, called “Dad’s Day Out.” Fathers were invited to spend quality time with their little ones at the school. The event featured fun and exciting games such as “Reach Your Destination,” “Spot Game,” and a dough-making challenge. All the enthusiastic fathers participated in the games and received wonderful gifts from their children for their achievements. INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY “Yoga is a light, which ones lit will never dim. The better you practice, the brighter your flame.” The kindergarten children had a delightful time cel- ebrating Yoga Day on June 21, 2023, in the school playground. The event was organized by coordina- tor Ms. Kayenat Ansari and Ms. Anushangi. All the kindergarten students gathered to practice various yoga poses, guided by our PE teacher, Ms. Neethu. The session began with warm-up exercises and then moved on to yoga postures specifically beneficial for kids. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and to add to the festive spirit, everyone, including the staff, dressed in white and blue attire. This event ex- emplifies our school’s commitment to instilling values and keeping our children connected to our culture. It began in 2014 and encourag- es people to express themselves through selfies while spreading the message to keep smiling because life is beautiful. They dressed up in vibrant outfits and took selfies by wearing masks of famous film actors and actresses, capturing creative angles and showcasing their radiant smiles. Grand Parent’s Day “Bridging Generations, Celebrating Love: Grandparents’ Day at its Finest!” Grandparents play a vital role as a bridge between generations, passing down family traditions, val- ues, and stories. Celebrating Grandparents’ Day allows families to come together and strengthen the bonds among grandparents, parents, and grandchildren. It’s a special occasion to create cherished memories and foster a sense of unity within the family. At our school, we celebrated Grandparents’ Day on June 23rd. The students dressed up as grand- parents, embracing the roles with joy and excitement. As a heartfelt gesture, the students prepared a special song dedicated to their grandparents. They performed the song in class, and the teacher re- corded the performance, which was then shared with the parents. Parents were requested to forward the recording to their grandparents, spreading the love and appreciation for them on this special day. International Mother’s Day “Magnifying Motherhood: Honoring the Heartbeat of Unconditional Love” Mother’s Day holds great importance as a day dedicated to celebrating, hon- oring, and expressing gratitude for the incredible women who have nurtured and cared for us throughout our lives. It allows us to acknowledge their love, sacrifices, and influence, while strengthening family bonds and promoting appreciation for the role of mothers in society. To honour the motherhood and the selfless sacrifice given by every mother, Bhavans Pearl celebrated Mother’s Day with great passion and merriment on 14th May 2023. A special assembly was held where the students of Grade 6 B strived to instill the significance of a mother in every child’s life through a spectacular dance performance, a thoughtful speech and exhibiting placards. The principal, Dr. KT. Nandaku- mar, urged students to be humble and compliant to their mothers, who sacrifice their dreams for their children. Pearl’s Dance Day took place on June 12th, featuring two dance groups: grade 3 and grades 4 & 5. The event was enjoyed by all, and it was a resounding success. Harmony with Nature, Resonating Through Wisdom World Environment Day was joyfully celebrated at Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School on June 5th, with the aim of raising awareness about environmental protection and fostering a sense of responsibility to- wards our planet. Best out of waste Transforming Trash into Treasures In line with the inauguration of the Eco Club for the academic year 2023-2024 and in conjunction with World Environment Day, our Eco Club team organized a competition and exhibition on June 5th. The event centered around the theme “Best out of Waste,” encouraging students from grades 1 to 10 to showcase their creativi- ty and innovation by repurposing discarded materials. Categories such as best out of plastic, paper, glass, and shells were recognized, and prizes were awarded accordingly. The exhibition allowed students to engage in hands-on learning and witness the impressive results of their efforts. With enthusiastic participation from each class, the Best out of Waste Program was a resounding success. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the vital need for safe blood and express gratitude to voluntary donors. Grade 5 students conducted a special assembly featuring a thought-provoking Mime Show centered on the theme of blood donation. The assembly also included prayer, news updates, and a motivational speech urging everyone to spread awareness about the benefits of blood donation. International Father’s Day Father’s Day is a special occasion celebrated in many countries around the world to honor and appreciate fathers and father figures. It is a time to recognize the important role that fathers play in the lives of their children and families. Father’s Day is celebrated on various dates across the world, although it is commonly observed on the third Sunday of June.It is a day to ex- press love, gratitude, and respect for the invaluable role fathers play in their chil- dren’s lives. Through gift-giving, spending quality time together, and engaging in activities, families create lasting memories and strengthen the bond between fathers and their children. The Father’s Day special assembly was held at BPWS on Thursday 22nd June 2023 to celebrate Father’s Day and honor the important role of fathers and father figures in our lives. The assembly aimed to create a memorable and meaningful experience for students, teachers, and fathers in our school community. Several students showcased their talents through various performances dedicated to their fathers. Students organized short skits and dramatic presentations that depicted memorable moments and the special bond between fathers and children. These performances showcased the impact fathers have on their children’s lives. Yoga Day “Elevate Your Being, Embrace the Flow: Yoga Unites, Nature Glows!” Yoga is a priceless treasure from ancient Indian heritage. It encompasses the unity of mind and body, thought and action, balance and fulfillment, and fosters harmony between humans and nature. Bhavans Pearl Wisdom School celebrated the International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm on June 21. Zunaira, a spirited student from grade 10, eloquently introduced the significance of this special day. Ms. Brinda Tamil, a Therapeutic Yoga Instructor, graced the event as the guest of honor. Students, led by Ms. Brinda Tamil, practiced standing asanas and learned about the importance of yoga for harmony between the body and mind.
