L. Brian JenkinsFounder and President of Entrenuity, NFPand StartingUp Business Solutions, Inc.L. Brian Jenkins is the Founder and President of Entrenuity,NFP and StartingUp Business Solutions, Inc. His efforts havesuccessfully provided entrepreneurship education trainingand small business development for over 20 years in Chicago,nationally, and abroad. He is responsible for the training ofthousands of urban youth and leaders in the fundamentalsof entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and character/integrity-based business operations.Brian has served as adjunct faculty at Moody Bible Institute,Illinois State University’s College of Business, The Urban MinistryInstitute in Wichita, KS, North Park University’s School of AdultLearning, and Wheaton College’s Center for Urban Engagement,focusing on entrepreneurship education. He is a graduate ofthe University of Iowa with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees inEnglish and Religion; additionally, he earned his Master of Artsin Theology from Wheaton College Graduate School. Brian isthe author of StartingUp Now: 24 Steps to Launch Your OwnBusiness and the soon to be released, Know More Nonprofits.Brian has been married for 23 years to Dr. Jenai Jenkins andthey’ve been blessed with 3 children—Bria (21), Braxton(18), and Brooke (10). Brian and his family live in the AustinCommunity on Chicago’s west side.

As a teenager, Kari lovingly kept her family’s home supplied with fresh baked, traditional Scottish shortbread and dreamed of one day owning her own bakery. With over 10 years experience in the coffee industry and a genuine passion for hospitality and baking, Kari joined the Entrenuity team as the Manager of Overflow Coffee Bar. Having recently launched bakes by kari, she’s also diligently pursuing her entrepreneurial dreams and keeps Overflow supplied with delicious fresh-baked quiche, cookies and pies. Kari’s unyielding commitment to excellence and consistency has Overflow’s specialty coffee tasting better than ever—an excellent accompaniment to her fresh-baked treats.

OVERFLOW In January 2018, Entrenuity bought Overflow Coffee Bar— an established coffee shop which conveniently shares the same building as Entrenuity. Overflow seeks to add value to the community, by providing a warm and inviting environment for entrepreneurs to gather, work, network and provide additional jobs. Overflow is now black-owned, female led and predominantly minority female staffed—a refreshing change in a normally, male-dominated coffee industry.
