Webinar on Kick Start to React Native Date:18th & 19th Aug 2021 The Alumni talk on the “Kick Start with React Native” topic was delivered as virtual meeting. There were 74 participants who attended this workshop session. This includes our Computer Science Department students. The objective of the program was to provide a basic foundation and knowledge on How to Start with React Native Software Framework. The Resource person Mr. Prateek Gupta, is an alumnus of our SRM IST from the Batch 2015-2019. He is now working at Goal Teller as a senior Frontend Developer. React Native (also known as RN) is a popular JavaScript-based mobile app framework that allows you to build natively-rendered mobile apps for iOS and Android. The framework lets you create an application for various platforms by using the same codebase. The Workshop explains us about the platforms used for React Native and the basics in React Native Coding. It explains on the basic prerequisites Necessary like JavaScript, HTML, CSS and programming concepts like functions, objects, arrays and classes. The webinar also discusses about the essential components of react native like view, states, props, style, text, scroll view. The benefits of using the React Native software and how it is essential for app development in today’s standards. The sessions also focus on the practical coding of minor app coding us Android studio. 17

Flutter-Game changing Mobile App Development Workshop Date:21st Aug 2021 Flutter – an open source UI design toolkit by Google was taught during the entire period of the workshop. The programming language used by Flutter is Dart, which also was taught during the period of workshop, the session started with the Welcome address and speaker introduction. Session 1 – Morning session, a very elaborate introduction on what flutter was and how it is changing the world was elucidated with a wonderful presentation and live examples by the resource person. 2 Q&A sessions were conducted in between the session with active participation from the participants Session 2 – Afternoon Session, a hands-on session, where using Flutter and Dart in Visual Studio code, various possibilities, features, animations, titles etc., were introduced and taught on how to implement. Linking to API’s were also demonstrated. Finally, the session ended after felicitating the resource person with a certificate and a group photo with the participants present in the meet. 18

Success Stories Date:2nd Oct 2021 VDP Campus placement team has taken an initiative to help the current final year students connect with the immediate seniors (2021 batch) who were placed through the Campus. The objective is to share the success story of the alumni with the juniors, to motivate them on the campus placement preparations. “Success Stories” event is rolled is as a series. Sowmya and Pramit Karmakar got placed in Infosys last year through campus hiring process. They addressed their immediate juniors and shared their inputs on handling the upcoming Infosys hiring process. As Infosys day1- sharing process is common to all branches, 2022 batch students from different branches attended the session. Few students from 2023 batch also participated. Soumya explained on the Infosys process. She gave complete details on what will be covered in each round of the hiring cycle and what are the areas that students should focus on. She also provided references to preparation materials. Pramit Karmakar also shared his Infosys interview experience in a detailed manner. He motivated the students thoroughly by clearly explaining that with focused preparation clearing Infosys interview should be easy. Soumya and Pramit also explained about the internship program pattern that Infosys offers. Students wanted to know about the type of work they are currently into. They explained about their project and role. At the end, students raised their specific queries towards understanding more about the career with Infosys. Soumya and Pramit addressed all those queries and provided the required clarification to the students. 19

JPEG-Just Photoshop Everything Grand Date:22nd Oct 2021 The Design and Innovation Club of the Computer Science and Engineering department conducted a two day workshop JPEG (Just Photoshop Everything Grand) followed by a Mad ad contest. JPEG - a hands-on session on photoshop workshop was held on 22nd October 2021 from 10:45am onwards on Google Meet platfrom for first and second year students of SRM Vadapalani. This was an engaging and an informative session was handled by Kevin, a final year cse student from SRM and CEO of Millennial Labs who took this photoshop session from basics to the intermediate level as the students were acquiring greater knowledge in designing and also had good amount of fun while learning interesting photoshop tools and how to use them while designing a poster in an advertising aspect. After the completion of the first day of workshop all the registered participants attended the mad ad contest where the participants were asked to design a food creative and a shoe ad creative. It was very surprising that most of the designs from the participants were stunning as most of the participants had no prior experience in photoshop and they did what they learnt from a one day workshop. Later the winners were announced and they were given an opportunity to officially post their works on original sites of Patissez and Blind Chemistry. This amazing 2 day event ended with gaining knowledge in designing and with happiness of delivering an informative session to the participants 20

How to write programs on your own using C Date:29th & 30th Oct 2021 The Alumni talk on the “How to Write Program on your own using C” topic was delivered in a virtual meeting. There were 60 participants who attended this webinar that includes Computer Science Department students as well. The objective of the program was to provide a strong foundation C language. In the first session the resource person gave the introduction to C language, environment setup, also he showed how to run a simple C program in the Dev C++. He throw a detailed description on how the computer store the data and its different datatypes. Then he gave a strong foundation on the operators like assignment operators, arithmetic operator, logical operator and relational operator. Also, he gave a hands-on training on operator precedence, associativity, control flow statements, conditional flow statements, Ternary operator. In the second session he solved the problem which implements the concepts of functions, arrays, string operations, bitwise operators. In session three, he gave a strong foundation on pointers, structures and unions, he also solved the tricky C programming questions which were visualized logically and solved. 21

Truth about building a startup in college Date:10th Nov 2021 The Alumni talk on the “Truth about building startup in College” topic was delivered in a virtual meet. There were 45 participants who attended this webinar session. This includes the students of Computer Science Department students. The objective of the program was to provide students with a basic knowledge on how to start a startup. Starting a business shows you're creative, driven, proactive, and willing to take risks. These are qualities of an employee in successful company is looking for. While a good GPA won't hurt, having start up experience in college can put your career on the fast track to rare opportunities with huge payoffs. There are some practical benefits to launching your business while you’re pursuing your studies. Primarily, you’ll have access to the resources during the college that may be harder to have access or more expensive after you graduate. The student entrepreneurs may even find that there is a crossover between their classwork and business. It was a breakthrough session for many of us. The content of the session was exceptionally good with utmost positivity, his journey in entrepreneurship was very inspiring and helpful. As mentioned a proper guidance is also an essential key for an entrepreneur, a proper mentorship was provided for the session regarding the journey of entrepreneurship. 22

Webcentric -Full Stack Workshop. Date:10th & 16th Nov 2021 HTML, CSS & React.js – The basics of html, CSS and React.js was taught during the entire period of the workshop. The main focus was to teach various tools in html and CSS for designing and coding for both front end and back end. How to make a webpage more attractive and responsive using the basic tools was taught during the period of the workshop. The session started with the Welcome address and speaker introduction. Session 1 – Morning session, a very elaborate introduction on HTML and CSS was given along with how it is changing the world was elucidated with live examples by the resource person. A Q&A session was conducted in between the session with active participation from the participants. The resource person also taught them the basic tools and how to add features to your webpage by demonstrating it for them. Session 2 – Afternoon Session, a hands-on session, where he taught them the various possibilities, features, titles, etc. using React.js and taught on how to implement. Session 3 and Session 4 - A hands-on session, where they taught more about React.js and adding features to the webpage like images, styles, effects etc. using React.js and CSS. Finally, the session ended after felicitating the resource person with a certificate and a group photo with the participants present in the meet. 23

Skills & Mindset you need to thrive in the open world Date:17th Dec 2021 The Alumni talk on the “SKILLS AND MINDSET YOU NEED TO THRIVE IN THE OPEN WORLD” topic was delivered in a virtual meeting. There were nearly 60 participants who attended this webinar. This includes our Computer Science Department students. The objective of the program was to provide the students with a basic knowledge on skills and mindset that students need to thrive in the open world. There were some inspirational tips given by our Alumni Mr. Shiven regarding “SKILLS AND MINDSET YOU NEED TO THRIVE IN THE OPEN WORLD”. It was an enlightening session for us. The content of the session was exceptionally conveyed with an easy grasping practical examples. It was a light throwing session for us, mindset is everything. Whether you’re talking about career success, starting your own business, getting through a tough workout, having the right mindset and skill can make the difference between success and failure. 24

Business Intelligence Date:27th Apr 2022 The introductory speech was given by Roshanaa P, who sailed us with a short premise about the topic in discussion. Mr.Srinivas M, made us to gain knowledge about business analytics and business intelligence using tableau. He instantiated that the past history data of any circumstance can be analyzed to predict the business’s growth into the future through which he explained that the company could utilize it for a better plan towards the company’s future operations. He briefed the students of SRM about the importance of Tableau, a tool for business intelligence and its scope in the market at the moment. Mr. Srinivas made us aware of the topic of Tableau that provided the students the perception about the need for data analytics. Over a hundred students gained the acumen to deploy Tableau into their daily lives. The thank you note given by Roshanaa P allowed us to completely appreciate the effort taken by Mr.Srinivas M to give the students of SRM the cognition to move forward into the field of business analytics and business intelligence. 25

Networking-IT server infrastructure Date:20th May 2022 DSCE, VDP Campus conducted an alumni workshop - “Networking - IT server infrastructure” on 20-05-2022. Mr.Rogit T (Batch of 2016-2020) currently working as System Administrator and Service Delivery Consultant at DXC Technology was the resource person. The objective of the program was to provide an insight into the Network IT infrastructure. The event was coordinated by the alumni coordinators Dr. Rajasekar V and Mrs. R. Logeshwari. Mr. Rogit made us imbibe with a short premise about the topic through his self-built pc model, he gave us a glance about the IT Infrastructure. Mr.Rogit was not only a mentor but also a good friend with the utmost patience to each and everyone: The seminar was more effective and the participants were requesting for another seminar on the same topic, the contents presented by him was organized which made a beginner to pick-up so quick in the networking topic. He gave the students the cognition to develop more knowledge in this field of networking and IT infrastructure. 26

Success Stories Date:25th Jun 2022 The placement team has taken an initiative to help the current final year students connect with the immediate seniors (2022 batch) who were placed through the Campus. The objective was to share the success story of the alumni with their juniors, to motivate them on the campus placement preparations. “Success Stories” event will be rolled out as a series. TCS NQT exam was scheduled on 30th June and this session was arranged to provide value insights on the preparation from Shubh Patel, who grabbed the TCS Digital offer from the 2022 Batch. Shubh Patel addressed the students very clearly on how one should focus on the TCS campus interview preparations. He explained in detail on what will be the pattern for TCS Digital and how one should prepare for it. He got placed in TCS Digital through the On Campus drive last year and has recently on boarded. He elaborated in detail about the quantitative part and the coding section. He took some questions and discussed and explained the solutions for it. Overall, the students found it to be a very useful and informative session which provided thorough insights into the TCS placement drive processes and preparations. 27

Picture Perfect Date:13th Oct 2022 Picture perfect is a one day Photoshop workshop that took place on 13th October 2022, an event of Ubertech’22 which was conducted by ACE club by the department of Computer Science Engineering. The workshop was a grand success with around 97 registrations and an interactive session for all. Including registrations from other colleges who have experienced an interesting session. 28

Data Analytics workshop Date:3rd & 4th Nov 2022 This Work shop on Data Analytics provides a platform to learn the tools and techniques needed for the Data Collection, Data Analysis and furthermore related to Data Analytics and Data Science Stream. It aims to provide the knowledge and skills needed for Students to cater to the present day learners and their learning styles. The program was organized for two days on 03rd and 4th Nov-2022. The day 1 program began with an introduction to the resources person by the Student Coordinator Mr. Navaneeth Ranjan III AIML followed by welcome address by Mr. C. Sabarinathan Asst. Prof. Department of CSE. The Resource person covered the topics to the extent that covered the Expectation set for the course. Outcome: The participants have acquired knowledge of the different aspects of Data Analysis, Tools, and Techniques and also how to deliver and enhance the quality of Data via Visualization Format. 29

Career Prospects in OTT Domain Date:3rd Sep 2021 The Alumni talk on “Career Prospects for Core Engineers in the OTT Domain” by Mr. Naveen Jindal, AWS Elemental, London, UK (Batch 2010-2014) was organised on 03.09.2021. The third year ECE students were the participants. Dr A Shirly Edward, HOD/ECE, welcomed the alumni speaker and the gathering. Mr Naveen has rich experience in the OTT domain and previously he was associated with Alcatel Lucent, SKY Media etc. He shared his expertise on the OTT field and shared the details on employment opportunities and scope of OTT domain. The student participants actively interacted with Mr Naveen and made many queries. Mr Naveen clarified all the queries and provided many insights and useful links with respect to OTT Domain. The session was ended with a thank note proposed by the department alumni coordinator Mr A Dinesh Babu, A.P/ECE. 32

Industrial Interoperability of Data, Data Management, Cloud Analytics and Healthcare Implementation 27/12/21 Date:27th Dec Aug 2021 The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani conducted a webinar on “ Transition to the cloud - Recent Advancement in Networking” on 6th December 2021. Mr. Sourav Ghosh, (Alumni Batch 2010 -2014) Senior Data Engineer, Philiphs HealthCare Innovation Laboratory, India was the guest speaker. Mr.Sourav illustrated the basics of Data, Data Analytics and role of data engineer in the field of healthcare, networking etc. 33

Career Opportunities in VLSI Design Domain Date:27th May 2022 The alumni connect talk for the odd semester of AY 2021 2022 started in offline mode where II year ECE, ECE DS and ECM students were the attendees. Mr.A.Dinesh Babu, Alumni Coordinator- ECE welcomed the gathering and introduced the alumni speaker Ms.V K Divyavarshini Batch 2016 - 2020. Dr A Shirly Edward, HOD/ECE, felicitated the speaker with a flower bouquet. Ms.V K Divyavarshini is currently serving as a ASIC Design Engineer, at Mobiveil Technologies Private Ltd, Chennai. She started the session with her graduation journey in SRMIST, VDP and provided the insights on basic courses for making career in VLSI Design domain. She explained what her role is in the ASIC design and how she developed her skills towards the process of becoming an ASIC Design Engineer. 34

Reversing Disease By Diet Date:16th Jun 2022 In support of sustainable development growth SDG - 3 (Ensure Healthy lives and promote well - being for all at all ages) the Alumni talk session on “REVERSING DISEASE BY DIET” by Mr.Nikhil Choudary, Bio-Technology(Batch 2005 - 2009) was organized on 16-06-2022. The first year students of ECE, CSE and Mechanical Engineering branches were the participants. Heads of the department, faculty members from various departments also attended the session. The Alumni Speaker Mr. Nikhil choudary holds a Masters Degree in Dietician from IGNOU after his graduation. He has held various position as Nutritionist in corporate companies, defence forces, social organisations, educational institutions etc. Also he is a passionate speaker, author, serial entrepreneur and an investor. 35

G.R.I.T - The Key To Success Date:11th Aug 2022 The Alumni talk on “G.R.I.T – The key to Success” by Mr. Jayannthi Nathan S, Lead Database Administrator, FSS Pvt.Ltd, Chennai (Batch 2009-2013) was organised on 11.08.2022. The final year ECE students were the participants. Dr A Shirly Edward, HOD/ECE, welcomed the alumni speaker and the gathering. Mr Jayannthi Nathan S has rich experience in the database domain and previously he was associated with Wipro, TCS etc. He explained elaborately about the terms G.R.I.T where G stands for Guts, R for resilience, I for Intuition and T for Tenancy. 36

Frontiers of IOT Date:13th Sep 2022 The second session of ATAL sponsored FDP on “Internet of Things” organised by DECE in association with IET CLN and NSN, Chennai was conducted through zoom platform. He also explained about the various applications of IoT in different fields, real time use cases,components of IoT,pros and cons of IoT, when and where AutoToi is used and security challanges. With his 35 years of vast service in industry, he inspired the participants to take up the competitive exams like UPSC and GATE. The arena was first taken Mr.Abhay K who imbibed us with how important it is to make a right decision in life after completing B.Tech. UG program he also explained about his life experience on making decisions and his interests as well. The Skill development session was conducted by Department of Mechanical Engineering on 8th November 2022. Mr. S.
