The process can seem complex for new aspirants. So today, we will discuss all the required aspects of the application process for the UPSC exam. Let's begin! Where should I apply for the civil services exam 2023? The application process begins on Feb. 1, 2023, for the UPSC Civil Services. The application remains active from Feb. 1 to Feb. 21. The dates for crucial events such as exams and results are also announced on the website. On Sunday, the UPSC CSE 2023 Prelims date is given for May 28, 2023. The UPSC CSE 2023 Mains will happen on Sept. 15, 2023, and are scheduled for 5 days. Then, UPSC CSE 2023 interview date is scheduled from January to March 2024, which is expected. Followed by it the final result is expected to come around April 2024. What is the online application process for UPSC? Each phase of the UPSC selection process requires a separate application form. For prelims, mains and interviews, separate forms will be required. The application form comes in two parts. Moreover, the UPSC civil services website also shows a complete break up for the online application. For the first part of the application, the aspirants need to visit the official website, which is upsc online.nic.in. Then they need to click on the exam notification tab. Followed by it, they need to go to the online link under the apply button. Then, click on the link given for the registration of Part 1. After that, you should read the instructions and then click on the yes button. Part 1 will have basic requirements such as DOB, name, community, gender, email address, educational qualifications, permanent address, etc. After filling in all the details, you should click the continue button. Make sure to check all the requirements before submitting the final form. This will avoid any issues later. The next step is to fill out the part 2 section of the application form. The fee must be paid using an online portal. You can use SBI net banking, debit card, or credit card. The candidates can also pay offline by using the SBI bank challan. The fee is Rs. 100 for all the candidates except SC, ST, and female candidates. For them, the fee is zero. The aspirants need to provide their scanned images, photo ID, and signature. The required documents should be provided per the UPSC portal's guidelines.

You will be asked for details regarding the examination center and payment. Then, you need to click agree on the button for a further declaration from your end. A registration ID will be sent to you after that. This number will be required later, so the candidates are advised to note it down and take a printout. How to apply for the UPSC Mains from online mode? The candidates who have cleared their UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2023 are eligible for UPSC Mains 2023. Further, the eligible candidates must apply Detailed Application Form [DAF-1] from the website upsc online.nic.in. The candidates who have cleared their UPSC Civil Services Main Examination are eligible for the further interview process. Then, the candidates will need to apply for the Detailed Application Form [DAF II] through the same website portal. How to pay the application fee? The application fee can be submitted offline as well as online modes. For Prelims and Mains, the UPSC body charges a small fee. If the candidates want to pay online, they can pay through Visa, Rupay, credit card, Master, or debit card. Internet banking through SBI portals is also acceptable. If the candidates need to pay offline, they can pay by SBI branches. The portal gives a pay-in-slip which is generated by the system on the part 2 process of registration. The candidates must pay their fees based on this slip in an SBI branch. The pay-in-cash mode gets deactivated one day before the date of application closing. So candidates need to apply accordingly one day prior through the cash mode. Conclusion The above blog briefly expresses all the guidelines for filling out the UPSC form. After completing the application process, the candidates can choose coaching classes and free test series for UPSC preparation.
