EVENTS & ACTIVITIES HOLI CELEBRATION The premises of Delhi Public school Udaipur was full of delight and colour today, as Holi was celebrated in the presence of Pro Vice-Chairman Mr Govind Agarwal, member of the Management Ms Mani Agarwal, Mr. Deepak Agarwal and Ms Ashita Agarwal along with Principal Mr Sanjay Narvaria, Headmaster Mr Rajesh Dhabhai, headmistress Mrs Shalini Singh alongwith the entire staff. A small cultural programme was organised in which staff members gave their melodious performances and participated sportingly. The august gathering was addressed by Mr Govind Agarwal ,who asked all to imbibe the virtues of love, brotherhood and happiness on the sacred occasion . A colourful message board was created and acknowledged by all the members of the management sending out good wishes to all the staff members. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal Mr Sanjay Narvaria, who reiterated the importance of this festival . The colourful afternoon ended on a happy and vibrant note. 6 | Page
BIDDING ADIEU DPS Udaipur values the dedication and commitment of teachers who have played a significant role in nurturing students in academics as well as in their overall personality grooming. WEBINARS BRIDGING THE LEARNING GAPS The School Principal, Mr.Sanjay Narvaria attended the online panel discussion on the topic “Bridging the learning gaps” conducted by the DPSS, New Delhi. The said discussion was organised for the Principals of various Delhi Public Schools on March 4, 2022. Mr. Sanjay Narvaria shared a Power Point presentation that displayed various ways to address the learning gaps created due to COVID pandemic. The two- hour session helped all participants to share views and ways to address the learning gaps and once again make the academic journey of the students a smooth and enriched one. TRAINING ON STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES Ms. Megha Sharma & Ms . Ruchi Kothari, Faculty DPS Udaipur attended the webinar organized by COE Ajmer on 23rd March 2022. The webinar focused on stress management and making young minds equipped to deal with it in daily life and professional life. The resource persons was Ms. Moushumi Das. The workshop was helpful as it gave us a new prospective to deal with different types of stress in our daily life. ROAD MAP FOR UNDERGRADUATE PURSUITS A Webinar was conducted by DPSS, New Delhi on 11.3.22 for teachers teachin g senior school. The main objectives was to understand about the needs and expectations of the students seeking admission in colleges abroad.Different academic subjects like Medicine, Economics and their scope in different countries were discussed.Team head of' Mindler', Mrs.Iris Maderia was the key speaker. Ms. Sini George attended the session. UNDERSTANDING CAREER INCLINATION FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL “Anything that is worth teaching can be presented in many different ways. These multiple ways can make use of our multiple intelligences.” – Howard Gardner Dr. Rajani Batra, of the school bagged the opportunity of attending a very informative and enriching Webinar organised by the DPSS on 09th March 2022 on ‘Understanding Career Inclination For Middle School’. 8 | Page
The speaker emphasized that the role of a Teacher is to identify the dominant intelligence of a student and its application in Classroom through activities. She apprised all the participants with the possible careers based on the dominant MI. The session shall help the teachers in assisting the students in their Career Planning and Selection. EMPLOYABILITY SKILL-- COMPONENT OF SKILL COURSE. Dr. Mridula Singh, Vikram Jha, COE Delhi Conducted the webinar on above mentioned topic on 23.3.2022 Ms. Pramila Bahal, Ms.Kusum Arora, Dr. Richa Tripathi, Mr.Ankit Pal, Ms. Aftab Abbas, Mr.Hukmi Chand Nagda and Mr.Jaspreet Arora attended the webinar. The resource persons introduced the employability skills to the participants. Further content navigation, employability skills content, Class-wise break up was also discussed. Faculties explained about the nature of the topic and how it should be framed. The session was extremely informative and interesting. TRAINING ON VALUE EDUCATION Ms. Janak Chundawat and Ms. Mandvi Rathore, Pre primary teachers attended a workshop on value education &its significance.It was conducted by Mrs.Kabita Sharma, COE Ajmer on 21.3.22. The main objective of the workshop was to emphasize on the importance of value education, scope of value education, need of value education, components of value education& its types . Several slides on the above subtopics were displayed. The workshop was concluded with a point that value education as a subject will result in a better society &specifically it will boost the intrinsic values of good behavior, empathy &cooperation of every student. WORKING WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES. On 22-3-2022, Priya Dadhich got the opportunity to attend a webinar on the topic, \"Working with learning disabilities \". This webinar was conducted by COE Ajmer ; the speaker was Dr. Nishi Phagot . The main objective of this webinar was to give emphasis on the theme' learning disabilities' and how to overcome these disabilities. 9 | Page
CONTENT AND TIME MANAGEMENT. The webinar on content and time management was hosted by COE Ajmer Miss Leena Nair on 22nd March 2022. It was an informative and well knit session with a detailed explanation on the core elements of classroom- management and classroom organisation. The integral part of the session was focused on the discussion of the characteristics of an effective teacher. Mr. H C Nagda attended the webinar from the school. APPROACHES TO SCIENCE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL Ms Anamika Sud, Science Faculty attended the webinar organised by the DPS Society on 3rd March 2022. The webinar focused on Teaching and learning Science in middle school and making young minds equipped in blend of knowledge, skill and expertise which is significant in daily life as well as professional life. The resource persons introduced a lot of interesting techniques to develop interest in the subject by maximum involvement with the students. Overall, the webinar was extremely informative and help participants learn various methods to introduce in their classroom teaching. BEST PRACTICES IN TEACHING SCIENCE. It was a moment of immense pride that Ms. Mariya Kagzi was selected by the DPS Society to present the Best Practices in Teaching for Academics in Science subject for Middle School. She had the opportunity to present her best practice to around 200 science teachers of Delhi Public schools all over India on 3rd March 2022. The orientation session was also conducted for the same by the DPSS. The topic ‘Reproduction in plants’ was presented by her as a puppet show and it was highly appreciated by the audience as well as the society members. SESSION ON TRAINING IN FASHION STUDIES Mr. Dinkar Bharti, Faculty of Fashion Studies at DPS Udaipur attended a very informative and enriching session on training in fashion studies, conducted by the CBSE. The workshop focused on psychological changes across the entire life span. The workshop was full of information about several stages of development and this will be useful to understand learning path at different levels. Ms. Mandvi Rathore attended the webinar from the school. HAPPY TEACHERS CREATING HAPPY SPACES. A webinar was organised on March 26 ,2022 by COE Ajmer on Happy Teachers creating Happy Spaces was attended by Ms Monika Nagpal. The webinar was conducted by Mr. Rajeev Garg. The main objective of the webinar was to emphasize on the point that teacher is not the curriculum transactor but for overall holistic development of the students. Teachers who can achieve a perfect balance between fun and hard work will not only get better results but also have happier students .Teachers’ happiness can be a predictor of students’ happiness and it affects their learning process. SALIENT FEATURES OF NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY-2020 A Webinar on Salient Features of Education Policy was conducted by CBSE on March 29,2022. The key speaker , Ms Anu Bhatia conducted the webinar with a view to give a keen insight of its various aspects viz from traditional assessments to competency focused learning,promoting creative and critical thinking.Her presentation was mainly on education system that is deeply rooted in Indian ethos.NEP supports and nurtures even teachers by continuous professional development. She concluded the session by emphasizing the key principle of NEP 2020 - the holistic utilisation of education that enables a child to be a problem solver and it provides a platform to showcase creativity,ethics,values, scientific temperamen… 11 | Page
TEACHING AND LEARNING STYLES FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL. Ms Heena Shrimali, English Faculty attended a webinar organized by the CBSE on 31st March 2022. The webinar focused on Teaching and Learning Styles for middle school.Tips of teaching and different learning styles were discussed that hone students' critical thinking skills and knowledge retention. These styles ensured encouraging self- learning in students.In all, the webinar was very enriching and informative . SCHOLASTIC INITIATIVES DPS UDAIPUR SHINES WITH AN OVERALL 100% RESULT. Perseverance, Commitment and Dedication yet again has etched the success story of DPS Udaipur. CBSE has announced the first term Class X results on 11/3/22 and envisaged a success path for the deserving students. Pandemic could not restrain the students from proving their academic excellence. It is a proud moment for DPS Udaipur to declare the exemplary success of our Dipsites. Their diligent work ethics with a sincere approach has made DPS Udaipur shine with an overall 100% result. Highest percentage scored was 99%. While 18 students scored more then 95% ; 41 students secured 90 and above percentage in class X. To congratulate, encourage and motivate the students a celebration was organised in the school premises with the students and teachers. The Principal addressed the students and motivated them to maintain the tradition of academic excellence The school Pro-Vice Chairman Mr. Govind Agarwal bestowed his blessings and congratulated the students. EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE IN TERM 1- (CLASS 12) The term-1result of class 12 has been a rewarding one. The scores have proved the hard work and meticulous preparation of board students who endured and overcame all odds due to COVID times. With an overall 100% result in all three streams , the highest percentage was 98.8%, secured by two students of Science and Humanities stream respectively. In all 36 students secured 100% marks in one or the other subject. Over all, 97.6% students have secured first division. The school Principal and the staff congratulated the students and motivated them to excel in term- 2 board examinations as well. GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING SESSION Class X Dps students were fortunate to grab the opportunity of attending an enriching guidance and counselling session conducted by the experienced faculty of the school. Through a video and a PPT, the students were apprised about the objective of the session, its significance at the crucial age when the students face the dilemma of choosing stream and about various career opportunities. The queries raised by the students regarding the streams, subjects and the curriculum were satiated . The Principal, Mr.Sanjay Narvaria addressed the students and assured them of providing all assistance in making them decide the stream and the subjects as per their aptitude and their capabilities. The parents highly appreciated the efforts of the school. ANNUAL EXAMINATION AND BOARD PRACTICALS Examinations play a significant role in learning outcomes and strengths of the students. They help the students to step to the next level of the learning and enter into the new academic session . The annual exams for classes 1 to 9 and 11 were conducted in offline mode in the month of March. The BOARD PRACTICAL EXAMINATION for all subjects were conducted in the school premises wherein all the norms and guidelines prescribed by the CBSE were religiously followed. 13 | Page
REMEDIAL CUM REVISION CLASSES. The revision and doubt clearing classes were conducted for the boarders and slow learners of class 12 from 21st March to 4th April 2022 .A proper schedule was made to make students attend one hour class of various subjects each, wherein they were given ample practice of probable questions from term 2 content. These offline classes helped them to revise important topics in order to enhance the scores in the term-2 board exams. PARENTS- TEACHER MEET After the declaration of result of Pre-board 1 examination , a PTM was organised in all the three streams of class12 from 7th March to 9th March 2022.The parents were apprised about the performance of their wards in Pre-board 1 and about the areas where their child needed more practice to improve their scores. They were also told about the revision classes and the schedule of Pre-board2 examinations ,to be conducted in the first week of April,2022. GENERAL STAFF MEETING The School Principal, Mr. Sanjay Narvaria conducted a staff meeting on 5th March 2022 for teachers teaching classes 10th, 11th and 12th. The aim was to address the teachers about the special preparation required for the students appearing for class 10th and 12th board. Various agenda namely remedial classes before pre board-2, special and separate revision classes for boarders,slow learners and high achievers ,conduct of board practicals, PTM, provision of sample papers and many other significant issues were discussed. The queries of teachers related to special classes, problem of absenteeism in students ,conduct of bridge course for students of present 9th class and 11th. class, etc. were also addressed. 14 | Page
