Our Services Basement Tank Removal at Dean's Tank, Inc.We have 20 years of experience removing these tanks. Regardless if they’re in astandard, walkout or crawl space basement, we have and will remove them.First we will pump all the product out of the tank, to avoid any accidental leakage. Thenif necessary cut it up for removal. We will avoid this if possible so unwanted fumes willnot be released. All ventilation is the customers responsibility.Once the tank is out we will remove all accessible piping. Fill and vent pipes andwhatever supply piping to the furnace. We do not removepiping from underneath the basement floor, we’ll just blowall the residual product out and then seal it at both ends. Finally we insulate and cement the fill and vent pipe holesup in the basement wall. This process varies greatly, depending on siding, depth of pipes and accessability. Wewill do what ever possible to get the job done to yourspecifications.

We take great pride in this and will always do our best to get thejob done safely and correctly. We try to check out every tank to avoidunforseen incidents and accessibility issues. Ifunder ground utilities are present we will callthe appropriate services and city officials formarking. In some cities permits are notrequired, we have worked with all 170 differentmunicipalities in the metro area and willcontact them, if needed. Most residential tanks can be removed with aBobcat and backhoe attachment. We’ve foundit’s better to bring in a smaller piece ofequipment and take a little more time. Bringingin a large tractor or track machine will justmake more damage and there is no senseadding to the price of the job by expensivelandscape restoration.Once the tank has been removed we backfill and compact the cavity with the excavatedsoil bring in soil to make up for the displacement of the tank. In most scenarios we bringin black dirt for grass and garden replacement, if under concrete or asphalt we willbring in the appropriate base. It’s not common, but something to be aware of and prepared for.The state has programs to offset the cost, so it shouldn’t be a financial burden to beconcerned about. Finally we will haul off and dispose of the tank, usually it will just be taken to a recyclingfacility. With bigger tanks we will bring in a machine that will safely and efficiently do the job.
