Performance Task 1 Watch the video about The Definition of Art. You may also access it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2Vp Nx5ZxSA&t=11s Among the series of definitions presented, what are your top 3 personal favorites? Why? Share your thoughts. Note: you may also search other definitions apart from the ones narrated in the video. There is no must in aGrrteenery because art is free. ― Wassily Kandinsky This is my top 1 personal favorite definition of Art because whenever I am doing art, I become very happy because I have the freedom to do whatever I want. Despite what many think there isn’t a mold that can confine the expanse of knowledge, inspiration and beauty that makes up art; it’s free to take on the form of whatever you perceive it to be.

Performance Task 1 Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. ― John Lubbock This is my second favorite definition of Art because you can find art anywhere. Buildings, houses, and everything you see even the smallest things are considered Art. For me, life without Art is very plain and simple. Art makes our life more Greenerybeautiful and colorful. Life is sometimes hard. Things go wrong, in life and in love and in business and in friendship and in health and in all other ways that life can go wrong. And when things get tough, this is what you should do. Make good art. ― Neil Gaiman eTaxhcpmoirsmeooisrsfrseomwrwmthysheataamthtneeiviwrndweegrhfffaweuevnleeoella:rivfirweeteerhbfIdeaehteeshafeliievdnnreigotwpniaoertonoautbbrhrleeeaecmthxaamspupesaopresmiyeIie,tnbnscheatele.dsileI.,pnvAasemnrmtwgyeareylltilc,ofoaebwen.exastcprrrurateseyastetsoed, what I truly feel in the inside.

Type of Art Expression VISUAL ART: EL AUTOBUS – FRIDA KAHLO In 1925, artist Frida Kahlo was involved in a bus accident that left her permanently damaged. Four years later, she painted El Autobus (The Bus) which appears to be a simple painting of Mexican society, with men and women of all social classes sitting along the bench on a wooden bus. However, when you look deeper, the painting seems to refer to the very accident that happened in 1925. The woman sitting on the right corner is believed to be Kahlo herself, and the working man in blue is a representation of the man who pulled an iron handrail from Kahlo’s abdomen after the accident. FILM: REPLY 1988 IReply 1988 connects us to the nostalgic memory lane of simpleness of life for average people and emphasizes the camaraderie between families, friends, neighbors & every one. It is correlated with the cultural aspects of the past and shows us the boundaries where one might stopped existing. But this drama helps us relive the past and appreciate the generosity and oneness of humanity. This is a genuine drama that gives moral lessons. It motivates us to be courageous, take care other people, to give love and don't expect anything in return.

Type of Art Expression PERFORMANCE ART: RHYTHM 10 BY MARINA ABRAMOVIC In Rhythm 10, Abramović uses a series of 20 knives to quickly stab at the spaces between her outstretched fingers. Every time she pierces her skin, she selects another knife from those carefully laid out in front of her. Halfway through, she begins playing a recording of the first half of the hour-long performance, using the rhythmic beat of the knives striking the floor, and her hand, to repeat the same movements, cutting herself at the same time. This piece exemplifies Abramović's use of ritual in her work, and demonstrates what the artist describes as the synchronicity between the mistakes of the past and those of the present. POETRY PERFORMANCE: \"ANG HULING TULA NA ISUSULAT KO PARA SA'YO\" A spoken word artist, Juan Miguel Severo delivers his hard-hitting poem entitled, “Ang Huling Tula na Isusulat Ko para Sa’yo.” From the very first word he uttered, you knew you’d be in for a heart- wrenching ride. Every word resonates with you, even when you haven’t experienced what he had been through. But you can hear it in the timbre of his voice and you can feel it in the shaking gesture of his hands. The desperation and the sadness seep inside you. You can only sit and link: https://www.youtube.com/watch? marvel, and applaud at the end of it. v=314oyFLD2vc

Type of Art Expression ARCHITECTURE: LEANING TOWER PISA The campanile of the cathedral of Pisa, Tuscany is world famous for its leaning position. Started in the 12th, the tower was completed in the second half of the 14th century, and it is the iconic building of the late Italian Romanesque style. DANCE: KPOP GIRL GROUP TWICE'S \"ALCOHOL FREE\" TWICE’s performances are always well- choreographed and highly memorable, and the one for “Alcohol Free” is no exception. There’s just the right amount of hip shaking, shimmying, and body rolls to make it a little sexy and sassy. It also seems like there are a couple of ballroom dance moves that accentuate the Latin music aspects of the song, which is a nice touch. The movements fit the rhythm perfectly, and the whole thing makes me want to dance along.

Type of Art Expression LITERARY ART: A WALK TO REMEMBER BY NICHOLAS SPARKS Popular and outgoing class president Landon doesn’t think he has much in common with the preacher’s daughter Jamie, until circumstance forces them together. A last-ditch effort to get a date to the high school dance leads to an unexpected romance in A Walk to Remember, Nicholas Sparks’ follow-up to smash hit The Notebook. As Landon and Jamie slowly find common ground, and an appreciation for one another, A Walk to Remember proves that love can be found in surprising places. THEATER: ANG HULING EL BIMBO MUSICAL Ang Huling El Bimbo is a story of friendship told through the songs of the most iconic Pinoy rock band from the 90’s. It is an original story that should resonate with people who understand how the powerful bond between friends shapes our lives. It will also be a nostalgic journey, driven by songs that have become part of the collective Pinoy psyche.

Type of Art Expression APPLIED ARTS: \"THE BALLERINA\" BY TERESA BERNARD OIL A realistic style painting of a ballerina in a blue tutu and pink ballet shoes. She is sitting on the floor in a graceful pose while a bright spotlight shines down upon her. The background is dark ensuring your focus is solely on the ballerina

In the video, five something talented artists was introduced and they are Filipino artists Kidlat Tahimik, Julie Lluch, Levi Celerio, Leonor Orosa Goquingco, and Lucio San Pedro. Some of them fell in love with arts because of passion, that even romance, and others fell in love because they think art is their safe place; the one who saved them from books can't their problems or challenges in life. teach\" The artist that inspired me the most is no other than Ms. Julie Lluch. Her extremely personal work is perfectly expressed in Philippine indigenous clay, which she describes as a \"sensuous and delightful\" feminine medium. Julie helped establish the feminist group Katipunan ng Kababaihan para sa Kalayaan (KALAYAAN) alongside women authors, activists, and intellectuals in 1983. For her excellent work setting high standards in the field of Philippine sculpture and for enhancing women’s position in our society, Julie Lluch has been duly recognized. Ms. Julie Lluch taught us in the video that money does not define your desire to pursue something in life. As long as it makes you happy and it makes you inspire other people specifically children said, all greatworks of art are from the great intensity and great passion and that the art is greaterthan the artist itself

Performance Task 3 Research further on your chosen artist in item #2, select ONE of his/her masterpieces that appeal to you the most and answer the following: The artwork is made by Julie Lluch and the title of this masterpiece is called, \"Cutting Onions Always Makes Me Cry\" Every parts in this work, including the woman, chicken, eggs and vegetables are made of ceramics. Ceramics has historically been separated from fine art and categorized as crafts, similarly to the positioning of women. By taking ceramics into the context of contemporary art, the role and status of ceramics are also being reinstated. This work shows a woman crying as she cuts up onions. There must be something in the social environment that makes her -- an alter ego of the artist herself -- cry. The artist's interest lies in recreating the reality of women as they suffer from customs and systems in a male dominated society.

Joan Ria Teacher 1 Teacher 2 \"Kailangan nila mag-isip. Teacher ako, kailangan ko magturo. These kids are in a perfect position to influence society when they graduate. Hindi ako kuntentong mangitlog nang mangitlog ng mga mangmang.\" - Joan (Teacher 1) \"Kailangan nila ng at least passing grade para di-mahassle ang parents nila na maghanap ng bagong college na may mga teachers na ready mag- yaya sa mga anak nila. Yan ang trabaho natin dito: Yaya \" - Ria (Teacher 2)

\"Faculty\" made ma realize how difficult it is to become a teacher. Their role as an educator gives so much impact to the lives of the students. Even if Joan and Ria have different perspective in life, I can still see that they are concern to their students. The first teacher wants to protect the student from hard and so, she didn't want to allow her students to go to the rally. Meanwhile, the other teacher encourages the student to become aware of what is truly happening to our society by joining the raly. However, even if they are right at some point, I have to admitt that they are both have their own mistakes. Even if this short film was aired a few years ago, this kind of story is still timely and relevant. This made me appreciate my teachers more because their job is not really easy. They are teaching us to become more knowledgeable but most importantly, they are teaching us to become better individual of society and have good morals. Because both of its characters end up miserable, Faculty leaves a bitter aftertaste. Ria, who is content with indulging her students, the children of the ruling class, within the comfortable ideological zone of the gentry, accepting her demotion from educator to nanny. Joan, on the other hand, sees high school as a better place to plant her progressive seeds, but she'll be disappointed when she realizes that spoiled high school students aren't much different from the spoiled college students she abandoned. Joan will face the same overprotective wealthy parents, restrictive and rigid school administration, and social ills that will inevitably lead to violence.

PERFTOARSMKA5NCE After reading the three short stories , work on the following: 1.What to you is \"courage\" ? Provide your own explanation by expressing it in one paragraph that is coming from your heart. Every individual in this world can be courageous in their own way, someone does their daily work without thinking about the fact that in someone's eyes he appears as a hero and a daredevil. We just have to look around and think about the surrounding people, and then you can be surprised: how different everyone is! How many brave and courageous people there are in the world! . There are a lot of good qualities that a person can be but being courageous or not afraid of responsibility is something that I really admire the most to a person. Sometimes, we do things that we do not want to do because we are too shy or we tend to overthink on the possible consequences of those actions. This is why having a courage is so important. It gives us a power to chase after things that are important to us. It enhances our self- confidence and allows us to believe in our capabilities. People with courage have a sense of duty and will always come to the rescue. It may sound a little exaggerated and festive, but in everyday life, courage can be manifested in different way.

PERFTOARSMKA5NCE 1.How do you find the two point of views style of the write \"Geyluv\" ? Do you find it confusing or fascinating looking simultaneously into the minds of the two main characters? 2. How would you end the story if you were the writer? \"Geyluv\" is not a typical love story between a man and a girl. This story tackles the life of a LGBT people in which two individuals with same sex develop love to each other. In the story, Mike and Benjie develop feelings from friends to a lover. The story was hanging but the 'before-the-end' story showed the development of their homosexual relationships. This relationship has a process, started with the sense of brotherhood, overcoming or meeting the problems and conflicts arise between them and helping each other. It is also a contributory factor that they always have each other roughly twenty-four hours. Next on the process is the sexual attraction until it continuously developed. The story is fascinating to me because it gives a meaningful message to all the viewers that people from a LGBTQ community are also humans. Regardless of their gender, they are also humans with feelings and emotions. If I am the writer, I will end it in a way the two main characters will be open to their true feelings to each other. The society should begin to start widening our understanding on this issue. They also want to live happy but then, there are people who will do everything just to make their lives miserable and sorrowful. Let us avoid this kind of mindset, \"LGBT ay salot sa lipunan\". They deserve to be respect and treat kindly.

PERFTOARSMKA5NCE Write a simple review of \"Pagkatapos ng Dilim\" based on your preferred literary approach (lens) EXPOSITION \"The story is \"Pagkatapos ng Dilim\" is about Arthur, who returns to his province of Legazpi to rest after a year of studying at UP. He remained with his aunt and uncle, Tiya Marita and Tiyo Tonio, in Legazpi. They welcomed Arthur warmly and treated him as if he were their own son. Arthur looked to be searching for someone named Jojo after his arrival. His Tiya Marita quickly clarified that he lives in the forest and sees them occasionally, but Arthur should be wary of him because she had heard rumors about him joining the NPA. ARCISTIINOGN Arthur and his Tiya Marita were in the market when CLIMAX Jojo approached them. Arthur and Jojo are back together. Because they know each other well and have a history, Jojo asked Arthur to his residence to catch up. The two exchanged memories and acknowledged their affection for one another. They chose to continue their love relationship after spending the night together. Jojo and his fellow rebels were arrested by soldiers one day while hunting and farming. The troops tortured Jojo and his companions before killing the rest of them. When Arthur learned of what was going on in the forest, he rushed out of his house and grabbed a gun. Arthur went to Jojo's hut and found Jojo kneeling with a comrade. He observed the soldier become enraged and shoot the other rebel. Jojo was the last person standing. According to the soldier, Arthur immediately shot the soldier with his gun to save Jojo, who was severely wounded.

PERFTOARSMKA5NCE Write a simple review of \"Pagkatapos ng Dilim\" based on your preferred literary approach (lens) FAACLTLIIONNG Arthur was accompanied to the hospital by his Tiya Marita and Tiyo Tonio. Jojo would cry and scream during his time in the hospital. It was very painful for Jojo as he loves him so much to the point that they would argue but eventually make up, saying they were there for each other. They couldn't live without each other. After a day, two odd men who claimed to be Jojo's colleagues arrived at the hospital. They informed Arthur that due to the situation, they needed to take Jojo to a safe home. RESOLUTION When Arthur woke up from a sleep, he found himself in an empty room with the two men. Arthur screamed at his Tiya Marita and Tiyo Tonio, perplexed, and inquired about Jojo. His aunt and uncle said that it was for the best since the less people who knew where Jojo was, the safer he would be. Arthur is left alone at the end of the story, and he is upset about it. He was so heartbroken as his lover left him.

PERFORMANCE TASK 7 1. Share your key takeaways and insights on this subject? 2. Share your suggestion that you wish to incorporate on the delivery of this subject next year. At first, I was shocked because we have an Art subject in our course. But, eventually, this has become one of my favorite subject because after a very tiring week, we have this kind of subject in which we have a \"beautiful conversation\" every Saturday. I really like the concept of \"beautiful conversation\" because it made me become more comfortable while listening to our professor. The concept of \"beautiful conversation\" is not intimidating to hear and this truly encouraged me to listen. Since when I was a kid, I am already into arts. I like to draw and designing different things. I always think that I am opening a totally different world whenever I do arts. It is because art helps me to gain confident with myself. I do not want to call myself, \"mayabang\" but when other people praises my artworks, I become really realy happy with myself. Art is the one that is reminding me that I am doing well and that I can still improve in the future. This is why even if I didn't pursue Fine Arts (my second career choice), I am still thankful that we have this kind of subject in Nursing.

PERFORMANCE TASK 7 In this subject, I've learned a lot of things about Art and I know that these knowledge will also help me in my career as a Nurse in the future. This subject made me appreciate even the smallest thing because everything that I can see with my eyes are all made of art. I just can't imagine life without art. Maybe, it will become very plain and boring. Art gives color and beauty to anything. Art also allows us to express ourselves and what we truly feel in the inside. I do not have any suggestion because I am contented and happy with how our professor introduced the subject to us. We are truly grateful to have a professor who is very knowledgeable, passionate and approachable. Thank you Sir because our class every Saturday became productive and not boring. Thank you for your patience because we can feel how hard it is for you to teach a class especially online. We appreciate you as our professor. I, myself, is truly grateful having a beautiful conversation with you and my classmates.

THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY PETAS AND FOR ALL THE BEAUTIFUL CONVERSATION EVERY SATURDAY, SIR!
