As the end of the year draws near, I am pleased to present to you the 2020 Operations and Business Development Team Achievement Report. The mission for the team is to deliver services which consistently meet, and where possible exceed, the quality and service expectations of the Faculty. We seek to build a high-performance culture where we bring our whole selves to work, work to our strengths to provide real value to the Faculty. This document highlights our achievements. I am proud of what we achieved in 2020 and hope you find in this report valuable information about the team and our objectives. As Administrative Officers, both Katarina Georgievska and Nandita Dutta are responsible for the provision of a broad range of administrative services to staff and students. They have addressed over 1,112 different types of requests this year, and we must bear in mind that both are part-time staff. They collaborate closely with each other and effectively find solutions to problems. They bring positivity and enthusiasm to the team and when campus reopened this year, they enthusiastically and voluntarily came in to ensure that the front desk was open for business. A variety of additional operational activities were carried out which included relocation of staff, vacating of building 23, arranging for offices to be painted and carpets to be replaced. A new Student Society space was created. Surplus desktop computers were redeployed, obsolete IT equipment removed, broken furniture removed and blinds repaired. Justin Wilson too helped when extra pair of hands were required. We also arranged for long term and short term branding on Level A and B in time for our semester 1 Orientation activities. We congratulate Nandita who after four years of hard work, collaboration and discovery is in the homestretch of completing her PhD. The team also welcomed Carolina Betancur Perez back from her maternity leave in October and are helping her transition back into work as smoothly as possible.

7 OFFICES were painted. WINDOW FROSTING installed in 25 offices. 58 staff and students RELOCATED, new spaces for NATSEM PhD students arranged in Building 11. Building 23 VACATED for Faculty of Health. 3 storage areas CLEARED and CLEANED. to create 1 new meeting room, 1 work- space area and 1 student society room.. Sessional staff room cleaned and dual monitors placed. INSTALLATION of carpets in 6 offices arranged.
In preparation for Orientation Week on Wednesday 5 February, long term and short term branding was arranged on walls from entrance to foyer including back wall under staircase and balcony face in January.
Vicki Smith, in her role as Business Support Co-ordinator provides support to meet the Human Resources and Financial Services needs of Faculty staff. Vicki was away for a significant part of the year on a six- month- long service leave and returned to work in September. She eased back into work after the extended break with élan, and we enjoy and admire her positivity and cooperative spirit. Vicki Smith Business Support Co-ordinator On Vicki’s return back from LSL she has made multiple corrections to sessional staff pay. Vicki has been allocating staff names to TRIP to capture workload, and since her return has completed 140 entries.
The role of Hannah Mills role as an Events Advisor is to support the development, planning, implementation and coordination of major research, engagement and professional development events across the Faculty. More than just supporting these activities, Hannah gets involved, and her involvement with several projects demonstrate her willingness to help out and contribute as required. Hannah is an integral member of the Murra Editorial team was part of the team that designed, developed and created Murra earlier this year. She had never worked with the Adobe desktop publishing software application InDesign - the software used to design Murra. Still, she took up the challenge to learn it and is now the Design Editor of the magazine. Hannah learnt extra skills this year, such as how to edit and make videos, how to add music to podcasts, how to design flyers and banners. These skills have become instrumental as we have called upon Hannah for shooting videos for our recruitment and Orientation Day events and NATSEM called upon Hannah to add music to their podcast. Hannah is on the home stretch of her Master of Communication (Strategic) program and a committed, passionate, confident and a valuable member of the team. She quickly adapts to changes and takes initiative with developing new ways to improve performance.

Design Editor and integral member of team Responsible for producing the first MURRA. NATSEM podcast. Lead the development of the Faculty INTRANET. Created the INTERNSHIP page on the Faculty website.
DESIGNED and CREATED x brochures, flyers and banners for Faculty activities. FILIMED and EDITED X VIDEOS for Orientation Week and Open Day and also embedded PowerPoint slides within the video. Hannah is working on a SOCIAL MEDIA STRATERGY with Michael Walsh for the Faculty to ensure consistent message across the Faculty.

As External Relations Coordinator, Justin Wilson’s role is a broad-based role providing high-level support across business development activities, short courses, engagement events, visiting scholars and outbound travel and is the liaison point between the Faculty and external partners. Justin has had an enriching year, and has played a vital role in all our student engagement activities. He smoothly transitioned from organising face-to-face student engagement activities to online and hybrid activities and events because of his disciplined, highly reliable and high - quality work ethic. Justin is well organised, very mindful of his deadlines and has demonstrated his dedication to the role and the ability to problem - solve proactively during the year. He is a team player and can be called upon anytime if an extra pair of hands is required. He is an integral part of the team and responds well to change in various situations and is a clear communicator - all this despite being a die-hard Collingwood supporter! As part of his professional development plan, Justin is also undergoing a Leadership and Management course through Open Universities.

Responsible for contacting x ADJUNCTS/ PTENTIAL ADJUNCTS/ SENIOR APS LEADERS for IGPA to discuss engagement with the Faculty’s education and research programs. MARKETED the Graduate Certificate in Public Policy and Finance with the APS targeting EL1, EL2 and SES Band 1 employees earlier in the year. The program received 46 enrolled participants.
