Similarly, C.O Blagden explained Web : www.mpklang.gov.my Klang as an important port with many warehouses. While Charles A.Fishr defined Klang as a “canal”or waterway. His opinion was widely accepted given that Klang has many waterways that are made out of rivers, including Sg. Klang, Sg. Bertek, Sg. Penang, Sg. Sementa, Sg. Agas, Sg. Kandas, Sg. Binjai, Sg. Kapar, Sg. Jati, Sg. Aur, Sg. Rasau, and Sg. Putus. The name of this river remains to this day. Klang became important only after the decline of Kuala Selangor after the death of Sultan Muhammad (1826- 1857). In 1875, Klang was chosen as the capital city of Selangor before the capital city was moved to Kuala Lumpur in 1880. In 1886, Klang was touted as a beautiful and clean place. A Glance Of klang Valley Klang Valley – An Introduction Klang Valley, or Lembah Klang in Malay, is named after Klang River, which is associated to the early development of the area as a cluster of tin mining towns in the late 19th century. Situated in the centre of the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Klang Valley comprises the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and its adjoining districts in Selangor, namely Gombak, Hulu Langat, Petaling and Klang, covering an area of 2826 square kilometers. Geographically, it is delineated by Titiwangsa Mountain Range to the north and east, and the Strait of Malacca to the west. Being the most vibrant and lively region in the country, Klang Valley is the heartland of Malaysia’s industry and commerce and is always buzzing with vitality. Home to a great number of migrants from other states within Malaysia and foreign workers from Indonesia, Myanmar, India and Nepal, it is considered as the fastest growing region in the country with many more rapidly growing new towns and yet more is believed to develop in the near future. Development of the region took place mainly in the East-West direction (between Gombak and Port Klang) but the urban areas surrounding Kuala Lumpur have since grown south towards the border 6 with Negeri Sembilan and north towards Rawang.

MenjeIlNaThRanO TDeUmCTpIatONMenarik Special View From Writer Local desserts There is a saying; people who love to eat are the best people. I just love people who are willing to share information on mouth-watering delicacies. Malaysia has a diverse range of food and desserts, thanks to its multi-ethnic and multicultural society. Hence, there is always an excuse to have that additional snack or desserts. Particularly for Malaysian desserts, some traditional Malay, Indian and Chinese desserts tend to share a common feature, where generous amounts of coconut milk, gula melaka (palm sugar) and pandan leaves are used. This gives a savoury sweet taste and fragrance to the desserts. These desserts can be found in most hawker centres and food courts, as well any restaurant serving local cuisine. Roadside stalls are also common for desserts such as cendol and tau fu fah. Flip through the pages to know some of the local desserts. 10

Humans from this age have abandoned their cave dwellings to live near open spaces such as on river banks and near the sea. Sungai Lang was an important settlement during the Bronze Age. This was determined by the discovery of two types of tools which were made from bronze; a drum and a bell. This proved that Sungai Lang was a trading centre during that age.
