ACCOMMODATION | 49 ACCOMMODATION The Hostel Experience 50 KL City Centre 51 Around KL 56 Beyond KL Cyberjaya / Putrajaya / 59 Seri Kembangan / KLIA Petaling Jaya / Subang Jaya / 60 Shah Alam >> Photo Courtesy of The Federal Hotel KUALA LUMPURACCOMMODATIONThe variety and quality of KL hotels and accommodation is on the rise as travellers of all budgetsand preferences choose from backpacker’s lodge and bed and breakfast inns all the wayto luxurious 5-star hotels ready to wait on you, hand and foot. The wide range of facilities andservices are able to meet business or leisure demands, satisfying even the most demandingof guests.Among the common services available in the 5-star, 4-star, 3-star and budget hotels arespas, fitness centres, swimming pools and internet access. For a memorable time in ‘TheGarden City of Lights’, we have listed a full spectrum of accommodation options for you tochoose from.If budget is a main concern, rest assured that the collection of moderate hotels, budget hotelsand even hostels available in KL enable you to save some money for other expenses. KL – TheGuide brings you on a tour of Budget Travel in ‘The Hostel Experience’.However, if you have been craving for a full-service pampering then luxurious, 5-star hotelsare more in tune with your desires what with Mandarin Oriental (adjacent to the PETRONASTwin Towers), Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Centre (beside BerjayaTimes Square shopping mall) just a stone’s throw away from the city’s main attractions.

50 | ACCOMMODATION THE HOSTEL EXPERIENCEThe Hostel ExperienceWith an immense selection of hotel accommodation within Kuala Lumpur, it should not be difficult for you to find aplace to stay. Depending on your lodging preference, KL hotel offers everything from the 5-star experience, classy andclean, to the not so well-presented clean but not so classy hotel.KL – The Guide presents to you The Hostel Experience and suggests that you try out hostel accommodation in thecity centre. For the first timers, or even the common backpacker, one of the biggest challenges is to find a hostel that’sboth fun and reasonably priced. Hostels are quite similar to hotel establishments, except they offer less frills. Many hostels within the city centre offer breakfast, Internet access, laundry facilities, knowledgeable localstaff and other hostel friends eager to be of help. The hostel experience is worth trying only if you’re single andtravelling alone, or maybe with a few friends. So, if you are in town with some not-so-fussy travellers who have moretime than money, why not try staying in a hostel this time around.Nothing beats the KL hostelling experience!
