LOTW CAM MISSION LoTW-CAM High School is a foreground in preparing students with 21st Century education and work-based learning experiences which refine each student's career pathways and raise successful and godly professionals who will flourish in the border-less community in this new normal. LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BRIGHTSPACE from D2L is a cloud- based learning management system (LMS) that helps K 12 institutes, higher educations and corporate organizations run both blended and fully online courses. Brightspace is comprised of three integrated platforms - learning environment, learning repository and ePortfolio. The Learning Environment from Brightspace allows teachers and instructors to design interactive training courses and evaluate assignments. The solution offers a multimedia environment that allows content creators to use images, videos, audio files and other digital content in their courses. 5

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM GUIDELINES SYNCHRONOUS SESSION VS. ASYNCHRONOUS PERIOD SYNCHRONOUS SESSION is the actual live class via a Zoom Classroom. After each discussion, teachers may give formative assessments or written works via Brightspace. ASYNCHRONOUS SESSION is the allotted time for the students’ self-paced learning. They work on their task or group based projects without teacher’s direct supervision. 6

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM GUIDELINES CHECKING OF STUDENT'S ATTENDANCE Checking of attendance will be done EVERYDAY by the ADVISERS and SUBJECT TEACHERS for their synchronous classes High School synchronous class starts at 9:00 AM with 10-minute grace period. Entering the class beyond 9:10 is considered late. 3 tardiness is equivalent to 1 absence An absence in a 2-hour class is considered as a whole day absence. Cumulative absences of more than 40 days for the entire school year is considered dropped from the roll. 7

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM GUIDELINES LEARNING AT HOME SET-UP The following must be observed: Students must have a physical learning space with comfortable and quiet learning space with appropriate lighting and sturdy table & chair. During Zoom Classes, students must be in sitting position all the time as if he/she is in a real classroom. Gadgets must be steadily placed on a table during the entire Zoom class (not handheld). Any form of distraction must be avoided while student is in his/her Zoom class 10

CAM HSD GRADING SYSTEM DEPED K-12 GRADING SYSTEM The minimum grade needed to pass a specific learning area is 60 (raw score), which is transmuted to 75 in the report card. Learners from Grades 1 to 12 are graded on Written Work (WW), Performance Tasks (PT), during this online learning set-up. These two are given specific percentage weights that vary according to the nature of the learning area. COMPONENTS OF SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENTS Grades 9 and 10 Grades 11 and 12 11

CAM HSD GRADING SYSTEM SUBMISSION OF REQUIREMENTS CAM HSD cultivates student's discipline during asynchronous periods when students are required to do their self-paced learning activities such as individual performance tasks or group-based projects. Class Instructors set reasonable deadlines for the submission of requirements depending on the project's difficulty and complexity. These deadlines must be met by the students since they have been given the asynchronous periods to accomplish the tasks. 12

CAM HSD GRADING SYSTEM REQUIREMENT DEADLINES Deadline of submission is set in the Asynchronous Tab of the learner's Brightspace account which must always be monitored. PARENT'S BRIGHTSPACE ACCOUNT Submission updates will be seen real time via Brightspace Parents Accounts. We encourage all the parents to check their Brightspace account at least every three days. 13

CAM HSD GRADING SYSTEM WRITTEN WORK AND PERFORMANCE TASK COMPLETION MONITORING WEEK Two weeks before the Grades Deliberation Week, advisers will send students and parents colored slips to give a heads up of non- completion of requirements. Upon receipt, parents are expected to help the child complete missing requirements. Parents will be invited for a Zoom meeting to help fast –track missed requirements. Students may incur grades deductions if submissions fall after completion week. YELLOW SLIP Given to students who fail to submit 4 or less requirements (all subjects) BLUE SLIP Given to students who fail to submit 5 or more requirements (all subjects) 14

CAM HSD GRADING SYSTEM ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS FOR GRADES 9 AND 10 For a student to qualify for this award, he/she must be able to achieve academic excellence award consistently starting from the first quarter of the school year, with no major and minor behavioral cases i.e absenteeism , tardiness and so on. FOR GRADES 11 AND 12 For a student to qualify for this award, he/she must be able to achieve academic excellence award consistently starting from the first term of his or her stay in school, with no major and minor behavioral cases i.e absenteeism , tardiness and so on. 15

PARENT-SCHOOL COMMUNICATION Parents and teachers are free to communicate via email, Messenger, text, or call from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Communication may vary according to the level of importance and urgency. LEVEL 1: Urgent but not crucial (via text or Messenger) announcements inquiries about asynchronous tasks and submissions queries regarding schedule tuition fee concerns internet connectivity concerns other urgent yet non-crucial concerns LEVEL 2: Urgent and crucial (via email or directly call the adviser and the Department Head) guidance cases e.g. bullying, harassment, mental health, tardiness, etc. school circulars Tuition fee/Statement of Account concerns scheduling PTCs Be reminded that both the teacher and parent may schedule for an appointment to discuss the students performance and well- being via EMAIL. Attendance is a must for scheduled PTCs. 16
