01 About The Speaker

REV. DANIEL DHARMINDER SINGH He has been in full time ministry for the more than 20 years. He is now the pastor of Ignite Community Center, Serdang for the past 12 years.He graduated from University Malaya with BA in History and finished his Masters in Christian Studies(MCS) in MBS in 2003.

03 Devotional Day 1

What Is Lectio Divina? Lectio Divina, “divine reading,” is a way to connect with God’s word through prayer. It’s sometimes described as reading scripture with the “ear of the heart.” This form of prayer is different from reading the Bible for study or analysis. Rather the passage is read as the living Word of God, through which he can speak into your heart. Lectio Divina is a process of reading, reflecting, responding, and resting in a piece of scripture. It’s a way to engage God in a conversation and listen for His words to you. Ephesians 3:14-21 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever

Step #1: In this first step, we’re “taking a bite” of the scripture READ (lectio) by reading a passage of Scripture. Read the (lectio) verse slowly, several times, listening with the “ear of 7min the heart.” Some methods of Lectio Divina Step #2: REFLECT recommend reading the verses at least four times. (meditatio) 7min Next, spend some time “chewing” on the words or Step #3: phrases God placed in your heart. Reflect and RESPOND meditate on the words you heard in the Scripture (oratio) passage, attentive to what speaks to your heart. Sit in 7min the silence and allow God the space to speak to you Step #4: as you turn the words over in your mind. REST (contemplatio) Now “savor” the essence of God’s Word. Respond in 7min prayer to what you heard from God and how the words spoken to your heart. Finally, “digest” what God’s spoken to you, embedding it deeply into your heart. Rest in God and contemplate his words for your life. Sit in the silence and just “be” with God for a few minutes. Open your heart to God’s presence and allow His words to permeate your soul.

04 Devotional Day 2

First find a quiet place by yourself. Often our thoughts are racing around and are mostly focused on ourselves. We may be thinking of our problems, our family situations, our friends, our relationships, or even the camp activities. Our thoughts control our emotions and how we react. But this morning, let’s start by asking God to help us put those things out of our thinking for a while and to concentrate on Him. Your goal this morning, is to enter into God’s Presence and to let Him touch your heart and speak to you. Come into His presence with thanksgiving in your heart, your voices raise, your voices raise Give glory and honor and power unto Him; Jesus, the name above all names Jesus Read these verses aloud in your mind. Read as many times as you can (10 minutes) Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Next do this: (30 minutes) 1.Observe the What does the verse say? verse: Who is speaking in this verse? 2. Interpretation: What does the verse mean? 3. Application How do you response to what this verse is saying? Think about this: By applying this verse, you are putting aside other thoughts and worries and are concentrating on the things that you could be thankful for. No matter how tough your life situations are, you still have many things to be thankful for. But we don’t often acknowledge them or show our thankfulness to God. As you began this day, thank God for all that He has provided for you; your family, the church, your work and ministry and your friends. Come into His presence with thanksgiving in your heart!!
