ABOUT CAMPUS : CAMPUS GATES There are 4 gates in total, the Main Gate, the Dean Gate, the Back Gate and the Staff Gate. While the Staff Gate remains inaccessible to you, you can use the other ones for your use. If you are in a cab, then the only entry point would be Main Gate located on JLN Marg. The Dean Gate and Back Gate are located on Calgiri Road, the latter being accessible only for entry on foot or cycles, you'll use this one if you want to go for your general shopping needs to Satkar Market (close to the back gate, use Google Maps if you're going there for the first time). There is a Reliance Fresh outlet located in front of the Dean Gate, that might fulfil the need for a grocery store. Please carry your ID card with you as you might need them at times while entering through any one of the gates. HOSTELS If you're a day scholar then this might not be the first important thing for you, but this will definitely be on your list as you will be spending a lot of sleepless nights with your friends at hostel, you'll make half of your best college memories at this place only. But if you are a hosteller, trust us, this is your heaven, the moment you'll enter this place- \"ekdam se haalat badal jayenge, jazbaat badal jayenge.\" There are 10 hostels for boys, and 2 for girls. Boys hostels are named Parijat Hostel (Hostel 1), Chaitanya Hostel (Hostel 2), Satpura Hostel (Hostel 3), Lohit Hostel (Hostel 4), Brahaspati Hostel (Hostel 5), Kabir Hostel (Hostel 6), Drona Hostel (Hostel 7), Varun Hostel (Hostel 8), Aurobindo Hostel (Hostel 9) and Vinodini Hostel (commonly known as Ganga hostel). The two girls hostel are Gargi Hostel and Acharya Bhawan, you'll know more about all of them once you visit the campus, but for to level up your excitement, a few pictures have been attached:

CANTEEN Pehle Pet Pooja, Phir Kaam Dooja“So, the first thing we all look for once we visit a new place is FOOD, and as Raj once said, \"Agar kisi cheez ko shiddat se chaho to poori qaaynaat tumhe use milane me lag jati hai,\" and exactly like that, the \"qaaynaat\" heard all our demands for food and blessed us with canteen in the campus to satisfy the eternal burning fire of hunger in our stomachs. There are two canteens, one in Hostel 4 and the other is in Gargi Hostel, the canteen is Hostel 4 stays open till 2 am and on busy days, the closing time might go up to even 3 am, so if you need Maggi, or just want to satisfy your demand for ice-cream, or want to grab an egg roll, or just want to chill out with cold-drinks, canteen is the place in your destiny. The canteen in Gargi Hostel is open till 12-1 am for the girls living in Gargi Hostel.There is another canteen named Annapurna Canteen which stays open during the daytime. It is located close to the place where your classes or labs will be happening, so you don't need to wander much, just go grab a cup of coffee, or have some dosa, or just sit there watching people eat stuff ;) It's all worth it. There are three other food-spots, Amul Parlour, located at the heart of the campus, you can buy regular stationary (notebooks, pens, files, etc), or just go there to grab a quick bite; the other is Nice Day canteen, located close to the Amul Parlour, near VLTC, that's a subtle version of a canteen; the third one is kinda dairy thing, you can buy Milk, Chhach, Dahi and other drinks offered by Amul.

ADMINISTRATIVE BLOCK-- Prabha Bhawan is the place where you need to go in case you have queries related to administration. Being a IIIT Kota student, all your queries will be resolved in the institute office located on the 2nd Floor of Prabha Bhawan, that's your spot. The ground and first floor are the administrative blocks for MNIT. There are two auditoriums in Prabha Bhawan too i.e. Neeti Sabhagar on Second floor and Mini Audi on Ground Floor, apart from Malviya Sabhagar and NKN conference rooms. There are Computer Labs on first floor, two of which are accessible to the students 24*7, you can go there to study anytime. However, do not forget to obey the general rules of maintaining silence and not disturbing anyone there. ACADEMIC DESTINATIONS-- Probably a boring place for those who do not want to study much (pun intended), the classes (offline) will be held in VLTC (Vivekananda Lecture Theatre Complex), Asia's largest lecture theatre complex. There are spacious air-conditioned classrooms with full support for projector assisted teaching. The labs will be held in the departments viz. Department of Computer Science Engineering and Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Those are the labs MNIT has provided us for the smooth conduction of the classes. General lab rules apply there too. LIBRARY-- IIIT Kota has its own library located on the Second Floor of Prabha Bhawan equipped to all your needs. Go there, read, study, complete your work, it's your choice completely. You'll need to follow the library rules though. There is also a Central Library located in the campus, you can go there to study if you need a little secluded spot, just do not forget your ID card as it would be necessary for entry in that library.

POST OFFICE-- “Chitthi ayi hai ayi hai, Chitthi ayi hai” There is a post office located on the Ground Floor of Prabha Bhawan. So if you need to send a letter or a package or do any postal work, that is going to be your nearest place of choice. BANKS & ATMs-- “Than Than ki Suno Jhankar, Yeh Duniya hai Kala Bazaar, Yeh Paisa Bolta hai” Now when everything's almost done, let's talk money, because that is required too, isn't it?MNIT Campus has two banks, State Bank of India and ICICI Bank, both located on the Ground Floor next to the Post Office, you can open a bank account there if you do not have one already. Do note that we are not sure about the exact process, so you need to visit the branch in person for that matter. We would suggest you go there at the starting of the session only with your parents if they come with you to drop you off once the offline classes begin, as you might need their signatures on some of the forms so they'll be there in the beginning. There are three ATMs too, one inside the SBI branch, the other in Annapurna canteen (SBI ATM) and the last one next to the Amul Parlour near the security office (ICICI Bank). However, if you want to use the ATMs of other branches, you'll need to go outside the campus, from the back gate, there are plenty of them there. THADI This one’s a little special food corner for all the students. The dishes offered here have weird names and superb taste, from Chakachak to GF Maggi, from Aloo parathas to Egg Rolls, there are dishes you haven’t eaten before, and there are dishes you won’t get to taste anywhere else. However, if you are in your initial days, we would advise you to go along with a senior ;

COLLEGE FESTS Fests are the “Bhaukal Moment” in the college life of a student. After going through hectic schedule from attending classes, submitting assignments, giving vivas & attempting exams, most enjoyable, creative & attractive part is to participate in college fest where one showcase his/her talent among different people of his/her own same kind. “Toh Chaliye Shuru Krte Hai Phir”. ⦿ Flair Fiesta: FlairFiesta is the Annual Cultural-Techno Fest of IIIT Kota creating an aroma of enjoyment, creativity, enthusiasm and enlightenment among everyone. This aroma diffuses the ideas ranging from the technical fields including app to web, coding to robotics, dramatic, literary events to photography & designing events. We aim to expand it every year to reach greater heights and succeed with flying colors. ⦿ Blitzschlag: It is a 3 days annual Cultural Fest of MNIT Jaipur aimed at innovative, entrepreneurial and technical interests among students. It hosts lectures, seminars, workshops, competitions, exhibitions and quizzes.

THINGS REQUIRED IN THE FIRST SEMESTER Scientific Calculator-- Preferably Casio 991ES Plus. Check out your local shops before rushing to buy online, and if you are buying online, make sure it’s an original product. However, if you cannot find a shop nearby, you can use an app called HiPER Scientific Calculator. But don’t worry, you don’t need to buy one if you already have one. The job is to get the work done ;) A4 sheets-- Keep a few A4 sheets with you, they come in handy while completing the assignments. Again, don’t rush to buy the whole bundle unless you plan to use them all. Extension Board (while you are staying in hostel)-- The hostel rooms mostly have a single plug in your room so you are going to need an extension cord obviously so that you can plug in your laptop, mobile phone, or other appliances simultaneously. You will have-- a bed, a chair and a study table in the room with some selves and a locker (buy your own lock). You will need to buy the bedding and the sheets + pillows which are available around the campus (Back Gate exit of MNIT) (make sure to buy a good bedding. These are gonna be handy after a long day, every day :p)

Bicycle-- Again, this is for the time when you’ll come to the campus, but it’s not necessary, you can choose to roam around the campus on foot, but we are sure that having a bicycle might save you a lot of time and effort. It would be advisable to ask the passing batches if you are looking for a second hand bicycle, a few seniors just give their bicycle for free if you are respectful enough to ask them politely ;) Google Drive-- Learn how to use Google Drive, it is a storage platform provided by Google, and it comes in very handy at times when you need to transfer files from the lab's pc for your own use at later times. There are plenty of tutorials available on YouTube, you can watch any of them as per your ease, just search for “How to use Google Drive?\" Learn to “Google”-- Try to do things on your own, everything, from finding out how to use a thing to learning new things, you just need to put in a little effort. Searching for things on Google is an art, and we do believe that all of you are artists, just bring out your inner potential. ;)

LAPTOP SPECIFICATIONS TO WATCH OUT FOR If you're gonna be here for 4 years, then a laptop is surely the thing you need. Recommended Specifications: 1TB HDD storage space to store bulky softwares and ofcourse games too. 8GB RAM to speed up loading lazy applications & softwares. Microsoft Office (Although you can use the Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides which are more efficient and can be accessed on a web browser) i5 8th Gen processor (If you already have a laptop with i3, don’t rush into buying a new laptop as you won’t need a powerful processor immediately) Some extra tips: Graphic cards aren’t necessary but keeping yourself on a safe side is important, so if you can go for a 2GB Graphics card, go ahead. Display size of your screen doesn’t matter much as long as you are comfortable with it Make sure your laptop has a webcam as you are going to need it for a lot of activities if this semester is going to be conducted online.

PLACES TO VISIT AROUND CAMPUS GT Central-- Shopaholic? Need to satisfy your need to purchase things frequently? Or just want to grab a bite? GT is the place you’ll be looking forward to. There’s food, there are people, basically everything you are gonna love. GVD-- This one might sound a little off-beat but if you want to get away treating your friends with a low-budget pocket, this should be your destination. Jagan Momos, Mansarovar-- There are a lot of popular Momo points in Jaipur, from Marky Momos, to other chains, but in our opinion, Jagan Momos remains one of the best Momo spots in Jaipur. WTP: World trade Park-- Just like other malls, WTP is a shopper’s destination, a cinema lover’s paradise, the first show of the day is cheap, so skipping everything and going there at times won’t hurt much, you know what we mean ;) Moreover, there are a lot of picture spots too, so if you’re looking for a place to click pictures, you should consider this one. Sravan Dosa, Raja Park-- This makes it to the list because of two reasons- one, the person who went there to eat dosa with his friends is not a dosa fan at all, and two, his taste buds now demand dosa from that place only. Wanna know why he suggested so? Head over to the place on a weekend and find out yourself. (Do leave a review on Google. Also, we are not doing any campaign, it’s just that the place is good and people should know about it.)

There For You (FRIENDS Themed) and Wizard’s Cafe(Harry Potter themed)-- Fandoms, how you doin’? Are you permitted to do magic outside school? Did you find your lobster? Do you have wit beyond measure? Do you make jokes when you are uncomfortable? Can you name the unforgivable curses? Yes? The places are for you. ;) Chulgiri Jain Temple-- This is a little far from the institute campus, but definitely worth going with your gang, just do not attempt going there alone because that might be too heavy for your pocket. The temple is beautiful and the way to the temple is even beautiful, you’ll find a lot of photo locations on your way to this temple so do not forget to click pictures. Abhaneri Stepwell-- Also known as Chand Baori. This is located around 20 km away from Jaipur and is famous for its stepwell. That is one of the most intricately built architectures in Rajasthan consisting of approximately 3500 steps. The geometry of the structure is mesmerizing and that’s why it is very popular among tourists, so perhaps you should pay a visit there once too. It is also said that it is impossible to take the same set of stairs to go up as you took to go down, so the next time you go there, we will need you to tell us whether this is a myth or a fact. Sardar Ji Lassi Sharbat-- Famous for its Samosa, Pyaz Kachori and Rose Milk, this mouth watering place is located in Nehru Bazaar. We don’t need to tell you much but we would suggest you keep cash with you as the ePayment options don’t work there sometimes.

Masala Chowk-- Hola, we talk about good food first, we talk about good places then, and then we combine them to get good places with good food. Masala Chowk suna kya? Bas udhar hi jaane ka. Choki Dhani-- “Pardeshi Balam Pdharo Mhare Desh, Kesariya Balam Pdharo Mhare Desh“ Want to have full Rajasthani experience? From famous Rajasthani dishes- Dal Baati Churma to Bajre ka Khichda, Gatte ka Saag aur Malpua, you will find everything there. After having delicious food, you can ride the “Ship of Desert” & Elephants too. You can also discover beautiful Rajasthani culture, designs including Bani Thani and architecture. You can also enjoy “Dangal” and magical tricks at night shows. The last of the places to make it to this list are the popular ones, they don’t need much description as we are guessing you already know all about them, they are Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Albert Hall, Raj Mandir Cinema and a lot more places you should explore on your own. After all, it won’t hurt much to get lost in the city and find a new wonderful place accidentally.
