WELCOME TO 15 NOTTINGHAM ROAD IN PALMETTO BLUFF
When Nathan Cameron purchased a home site in Palmetto Bluff on which to buildhis personal home, he knew he wanted to work with the best architecture and design team. Nathan has a longstanding relationship and respect for William Court & James Atkins, of Court Atkins Architects, so he asked them to take the lead in the architectural design stages of his home. Nathan envisioned a classic LowCountry home with the feel of a New York City loft.
Kelley McRorie and Anna Gustafson of KS McRorie Interior Designcreated a bold design. They were able to retain the traditional feel of a LowCountry river house, while using modern elements that give the home a fresh edge. Black stained white oak floors with a dry, brushed finish anchor the interiors, which aremasculine but accented with warm tones of ochre, smoke and the glint of antique brass used in the hardware and fixtures throughout.
Palmetto Cabinet Studio was brought on board to design cabinetry with a custom furniture quality finish. All the appliances are paneled and hidden from view, enabling the kitchen to feel like an extension of the adjacent living room. The cast stone hood with zinc banding is from Francois & Co. and the brass farm sink and faucet were ordered from Italy.
The butler’s pantry features custom cabinetry surrounding a marble toppedbutcher ‘s block sideboard. Closing the door keeps guestsseparated from the work area. The Dutch door functions great for parties - the bottom door can be closed, creating a serving shelf.
Next to the butler’s pantry is a wet bar, perfect forentertaining guests. The bar, which was built on site by talented carpenters and cabinet makers, was craftedusing reclaimed lumber. The antiqued glass backsplash along with the antiqued brass faucet add to the cohesive design throughout the home.
The study is framed by a custom iron and glass wall; a true piece of art! It was fabricated on site to fit the space precisely. The glass allows natural light to flow from the front of the home, through the hallway and office, onto the back porch creating a dramatic yet open feel.
The master bedroom features impressive,scissor-style beams painted white to accent the stained cypress wood. The walls are covered in grass cloth adding depth and texture to the room.
The master hall separates the bedroom from the bath in the master suite. The custom, waved glass closet doors are accented by a rich wood floor laid in a chevron pattern.
The master bathroom is a true retreat with a large soaker jetted tub, walk-thrushower, his and hers vanities, heated floors, and separate water closet . The room is centered around an impressive slab of exotic stone separating the tub and shower.
The first guest bedroom showcases matching twinplatform beds that have been suspended by jute rope. A built-in window seat offers a cozy spot to curl up with your favorite book.Handcrafted bunk beds, each equipped with its ownbuilt-in flat screen television, make the second guest bedroom inviting to all guests, young and old alike.
The outdoor entertaining areas will allow you to enjoythe beauty of the LowCountry in style. The backyard retreat includes a grilling area, an in-ground swimming pool and spa, cabana, and a screened in porch with fireplace.
