Murano Fish Paperweight This paperweight is inspired by one that Robin’s wife, Lucy, gave him as a gift. Each glassblower gives their own hand to the colour and this one is inspired by red and white Phoenician décor. 54
Murano Small Carafe With Blue Rim And Blue Rim Water Glass Marie-Rose Kahane was inspired by water in designing the carafe/vase. She says, “blue and Venice go so well together – we are constantly surrounded by the many tones of blues of the sky and the water of the lagoon…” Designed by Willie Landels, the blue rim signifies water. Vintage French Photo Frames For many years Robin has collected vintage French photo frames, prolific throughout his home and clubs. 56
Vintage Hermès Travel Clock The leather, eight-day travel clock was made by Hermès. This leather covered folding travel clock was one of the most enduring designs made by Jaeger Le Coultre and marketed on their behalf by all the great jewellery houses from the 1920’s through to the 1960’s. This clock with luminous hands and dial and a subsidiary alarm mechanism was made in the 1930’s and retailed by Hermès. Apple Green Olive Oil Bottle This olive oil bottle, designed by Willie Landels, is inspired by the kind you might see in an old-fashioned Chemist’s shop. Handblown, it requires extraordinary precision to get the neck perfectly even. 58
Large And Small Florentine Butler’s Trays The trays are Willie Landels’ design made for his morning breakfast. They are made in Wiltshire using Lacquered Florentine paper with brass handles and, for such a simple design, each takes twelve hours to make. 60
