FALL SAFETY TIPS The days are getting cooler and the leaves are about to turn and fall off of the trees. IT’S FALL! Along with this time of year come some potential risks for kids. Here are some things to watch out for and some ways to stay safe! • LEAVES Fall leaves are beautiful to look at, but they could hold the potential for injury. Don’t jump into a pile of leaves unless you know what is underneath. Objects underneath leaves could result in an injury! • HALLOWEEN SAFETY Halloween is so much fun, but can be full of safety concerns. Make sure you choose a costume that won’t trip you and that allows you to see well. Only approach homes with the lights on and let an adult inspect your candy before eating any of it! • SHORTER DAYS Fall brings later sunrises and earlier sunsets, so you don’t have as much daylight to play outside. Make sure you wear bright clothing and watch your surroundings if you play outside after dusk. • HOME MAINTENANCE DANGERS Fall is often a time for home maintenance before winter arrives. If your parents are using tools for housework, be careful and watch out for sharp edges. Don’t pick up any equipment unless an adult says that it is okay. Simple precautions will keep you safe during the fall months! 342 Cox Blvd. • Sheffield 256-383-4473 shoalsprimarycarellc.com 24 Kidsville News! www.kidsvillenews.com/shoals October 2021
