foreword Fattening club is a 2D animation. It is a story about a man goes to fattening club to gain weight. In this animation’s world, fatten oneself will be rewarded in many ways such as avoid taxes and be fame. However, there are other costs to be paid. In order to maintain his weight, he is still paying for the ex- pensive fattening products.

introduction The idea first came out from a question: What if people who are not overweight need to pay taxes. It reminds me of a piece of news that in Dubai, because people are generally overweight, the government encourages people to lose weight by issuing gold rewards. If there is a place where it is proud of being fat, what will happen? This is an ironic ques- tion. I think animation is a medium that can express surreal- ism well. My inspiration is Mark Baker’s animated panto- mime <the Village>. It conveys sarcasm that reflect the soci- ety and life. Therefore, I want to create a satirical comedy animation through this promise. The most important thing for such a project is how to tell the story well. This artbook will show its pre-production story-telling and characters.

Main protagonist This is an animation of a single protagonist. I adopted a male character. The story will express one's heart through a person's perspective. So the character I designed is a char- acter who looks funny, sluggish and lifeless.

uniform When people enter this fattening club, they all put on blue uniforms. Use uniform clothes to show people's obedience to social concepts.
