Call to Worship One: And this is how we know what love is…. All: God so loved the world that he gave his only son for us. One: God gave his son to teach us – All: How to live and how to love. One: God gave his son to reach us – All: When we were sinking deep in sin. When we were thinking our ways were better than God’s ways. One: On this Fourth Sunday of Lent, we receive the grace of God that makes us – who were dead in sin – alive in Christ. All: Merciful God, Loving God, revive our souls again! Amen..

The Spoken Word “But God …” Ephesians 2:4-10 Pastor Eleanor L. Colvin Sermon Notes Key Scriptures:   Ephesians 2:4-5 – But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Key Questions: 1.What “But God…” situations can you rejoice about today? 2.What sins cloud the mirror of your identity today? 3.In what ways do you follow the world instead of Christ? 4.You are Christ’s workmanship/vessel, prepared to do good works (that were already pre-destined for you). What works or acts of service do you feel God calling you to in this season? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________
