Call to Worship One: Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us! All: Bless us to worship God and God alone. One: Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us! Melt us, mold us, fill us, use us. All: Bless us to serve God and God alone. One: Lord, let our love be the foundation of our Service. All: As Jesus lovingly taught, lovingly led – empower us to do the same. One: Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us! All: May the Spirit’s fire cleanse us. May the Spirit’s wind move us. To God be the glory! Amen.
The Spoken Word “God Is Calling You to Love” Romans 8:28-30 Dr. Jacques Richard Sermon Notes Key Scriptures: Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:30 – And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Matthew 22:37-39 – Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ “ Galatians 5:14 – For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Key Questions: 1. If God shows you a “troublemaker,” do you see it as: an opportunity to “rough them up” or chastise them? Or, as a time to show an example of God’s love? 2.What is an answer to God’s call that brings the reward that comes by grace and gets us justified and God glorified? 3.What if law enforcement is meant to show examples of THE law by fulfilling the greatest commandment? 4.What if the police pulled you over and said: “I’m here to show an example of THE law [God’s love]” … not “I’m here to ticket you for running that light? _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________ _________________________________________________
