Call to Worship One: This is the day the Lord has made! All: We will rejoice! We are glad! One: This is the day the Lord has made – a perfect day for miracles! All: Some of us are spiritually starving. Some of us are ready to feast on crumbs from the Father’s table. We all come trusting God to meet every need. One: This is the day the Lord has made – a day not so different from the day Christ commended the Canaanite woman’s faith. All: We bring our mustard seed faith to worship today – trusting the God of miracles to increase our faith, increase our fruit as we walk by faith and not by sight. May it be so! Amen. Praise & Worship First Report Prayer

The Spoken Word \"Crumby Faith\" Matthew 15:21-28 Pastor Eleanor Colvin Sermon Notes Key Scriptures:   Matthew 15:22-23 (NIV) - A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demonpossessed and suffering terribly.” Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” Matthew 15:25-27 (NIV) - The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Matthew 15:28 (NIV) - Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)- Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Sermon Notes Key Scriptures: Romans 8:26-27 (NIV) - In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Key Questions: 1. Are you persistent (and consistent) in your prayer life? 2. Do you assume that God’s delay is a denial? 3. When the Lord tests your faith – do you pass like the Canaanite woman? 4. What do you do when you don’t know how to pray? ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________
