Call to Worship One: This is the day the Lord has made! All: We will rejoice! We are glad! One: This is the day the Lord has made – a perfect day for justice to roll down like waters and for righteousness to flow like a stream. All: Lord, let your power flow! Let your justice flow! Let your grace and mercy flow! One: May your righteousness flow into and change all the situations that are not right in your eyes. May your justice balance the scales – today and always. All: Use us – your church – to do what is right in your eyes. Inspire us, to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with you. Amen. Praise & Worship First Report Prayer

The Spoken Word “Let It Flow!” Amos 5:14-15, 21-24 and Jeremiah 29:4-7 Pastor Eleanor Colvin Sermon Notes Key Scriptures:   Amos 5:4-5 (NIV) - This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live;do not seek Bethel, do not go to Gilgal, do not journey to Beersheba. For Gilgal will surely go into exile, and Bethel will be reduced to nothing.” Amos 5:14 (NIV) - Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. Amos 5:23-24 (NIV) - Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a ever-failing stream! Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV) - Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Sermon Notes Key Questions: 1. God condemned the Israelites worship because it was not impacting their dayto-day lifestyle. Are you clear on the difference between worshipping and living a life of worship? 2. How do you help God’s justice and righteousness to flow? Is there any way that you slow down the flow? 3. Through Amos, God commands us to seek him and live. How are you seeking God and God’s righteousness with your heart and soul, hands and feet? 4. Can you think of one thing you could do this week to live an Amos 5:24 lifestyle? ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________
